    Thank you very, very much for those DIY videos.
    They are really teaching me to keep my beard as I like, particularly this one.
    Worth mentioning, the "mind blown moment" on the other video and this one where you lean the head back to produce a straight line on the lower part...

    I love Kratos and God of War but the anatomy was my favorite part of the video.
    It helped tremendously in debating what I'd like to do with my yeard later, my original goal was the Kratos/Ducktail but I am starting to think round/The Boss style.
    This made me realize I need to research more on full beard styles and beard anatomy. Luckily, I'm only on my 3rd month of the yeard and have plenty of time.
    Thanks Matty! Incredible video, you slayed the Kratos again.

    Late to the party my friend, I apologize for not somehow finding your channel sooner; I’ve been cutting my own hair since marrying my beautiful wife twelve years ago. However I haven’t quite had the patience to grow out my beard to the point where I could shape it and have fun with it. I love what you’ve done here, it kind of reinforces some ideals that I’ve come to know by clipping my head and made me confident that I can do my beard too after another month or two of growth. I use very similar products to fade and outline my own head and the use of the word “flyaway”, I knew immediately what you meant by that and I’d been hesitant to cut those until now. Thanks brother.

    Lol at 13:50
    I feel like there's not a human anywhere that can seemlessly switch to their less dominant hand while trimming and maintaining the correct angle whilst looking in a mirror and accounting for the the fact that it's a reverse image and all of your movements need to be opposite of what feels natural, whilst using your less dominant hand to trim the thing that literally everyone sees every day. What's more fun is adding a second mirror when tryna trim the blind spots!
    Kudos to you Mattie! You make it look so easy! Love your videos brother! Keep up the great work!

    Hey, Matty! I highly recommend you invest in a dedicated microphone (if you're not using one already) and a pop filter. The pop filter will shield the microphone from those sudden bursts of air that you can shoot into it when speaking out plosive consonants ( like "p" in the word "pick" at 8:33 ), making your voice-over narrations leveled out and even.

    Can you please like this for the love of beard ? So that more people don’t ruin their beards by cutting into them.

    Is it just me or is his jawline somewhat shining through from 20:00 onwards? I think that is the tricky part of that style it isn't just a triangle pointing downwards but also somewhat forwards. Which is probably easier done in the computer than with real hair (without applying excessive products)

    This took some courage to try at home going from a square shape to a triangle and having never touched the shelf myself - but it turned out great! Possibly the best beard trim I’ve had and certainly the cheapest haha.
    I feel like after a week I already want to touch it up tho - does that sound about right?
    It seems like a different animal just keeping it neat vs a major transition - perhaps a video on general maintenance for those that would prefer to do it once a week to keep it in check rather than wait a month for it to get unruly and then do an overhaul.
    I am also bald so for me I find i need to touch up my sideburns to fade to bald even after a few days (I shave my head every day) which in turn be throwing off the rest of it as it isn’t all growing in unison

    I'm having a hard time to understand the angle. When you do a square beard...you cut a straight line on the shelf, as you called it, with the head slightly up. From the front to the neck and you don't really touch the sides.
    When you want it to be pointy...you do the same thing but instead of a straight line from front to neck it's more like...from front to back but \_/ right?
    At 9:10 do you punch outside of the beard and straight to neck creating a flat angled shelf?
    Sorry if it is not clear. I'm French Canadian so English is secondary language.

    • @chosendave1023
      @chosendave1023 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried on mine but ended up so short because I kept messing the bottom part. I felt like the outside of the beard was always shorter the bulk...making me look fatter. Every time I cut it feels that the under him is chubby since it seems to be like this. Front √ back (seen from the side) so it goes short...long...the. Angled up. I've heard that you are Canadian...do you have any salons in Montreal where you meet fans for quick live tutorials? I would gladly get a beard trim to understand what the F I'm doing wrong XD
      Anyways great content :)

    Im still having trouble wrapping my head around how to create the soft point at the front. There's nothing wrong with the video or the way you explain it, but I just can't get it it in my head. Also, I wonder if this a good choice of beard for me cause right now it's very naturally wavey so Im wondering how it will look when the hairs turn back to theri default shape

    Just came across your channel and I'm a bigger guy with a round face. What is a good beard style that would help my face shape? Also I have very curly beard hair and when I tried to straighten it it looks terrible

    I really love your videos and these DIY videos are nice. However, I’ve tried going many places and can never seem to find a barber that can handle longer beards. Do you have any suggestions on how to interview potential barbers to see if they actually know what they are doing? I’ve had too many ruined beards that I’ve spent countless hours at home fixing instead of receiving an experience better than myself.

    I couldn't decide between ducktail and lumberjack. Thx for the tutorial!!

      My pleasure! The lumberjack is usually more of a square bottom beard. They are both great for creating an elongated shape!

    What can i do when my beard is long and the tips are starting to curl outwards. Its so frustrating for me to keep it long so i just resort to cutting it short again. I am asking this as i want to try to grow my beard aslong as yours. Also my moustache curls into my mouth what tips can you give. Do you have a video i haven't seen that can help.
    Thanks again i find your videos interesting and keep up the amazing work your doing to help us

    Wait….can I ask do you really like the beardscape machine?….I heard your older video you said it was average and good for the price…curious why you don’t use your higher quality machines?

    • @mattyconradgrooming
      @mattyconradgrooming  ปีที่แล้ว

      I use a lot of different machines! You’ll notice. I still used my professional trimmer to outline. But overall the Beardscape isn’t bad at all. I use it at home quite often.

    My beard is as thick as yours but i don't have any sideburns. its essentially a giant ghoatee. Do you have any tutorials planned for this kind of growth? love the channel by the way!

    Thanks for all the tips you give us. I'm new to your channel and I've watched some great videos. I plan to purchase a set of your victory barber and beard brand supplies for myself, now for my question. I've seen you describe how to trim a fine or light mustache. How would one go about getting a more fuller and defined mustache from a fine one? I've always envied how good another beard style looks with a more full mustache, help lol.

    Amazing video. Learned a lot. I have a question though. How do you keep your beard straight? I have grown a beard for sometime and its always curly after I take a shower. Even brushing it is not enough to make it straight. The only thing that worked was a beard straightener with 430F temperature but I don't think using a straightner regularly is good for my beard. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    • @mattyconradgrooming
      @mattyconradgrooming  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Michael. Thanks for watching. To get this shape you need around 5-6 months growth at the chin. It’s the longest point.

    Ducktail is easily the best looking beard in my opinion. Gives a man a very well-groomed look while still having a decent length of a beard.

    Thank you so much for this video. I"ve been struggling a lot with my beard lately, and this is the exact style I've wanted to do. (not necessarily because of Kratos, just that pointed look to the beard) but I had no idea what it was even called. Definitely looking forward to giving this a try!

    I wonder, when you are doing the freehand on the walls, could you switch to instead use a guard to trim down the sides?

    • @mattyconradgrooming
      @mattyconradgrooming  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could do just as a safety but I find you get a smoother result from freehand. So you’d want to try to take off those training wheels ultimately
