Can relate to the early gray, too started salt and pepper at 27. Now late 40’s it is totally silver. Sort of wish I would have grown the beard out when it was still red. Ginger beard.
He could give the beard a brown colour tone and he‘d look like 30. But he doesn‘t care and that‘s what I love. I also have some grey hairs here and there on my head already, and I‘m just 23. Itching: you need to moisturize, bro. Shower, then apply coconut oil. It locks in the moisture. It's antifungal in case you have any dandruff. As a solid at room temperature, it gives your hair hold and shape. It smells good and shines white. In contrast, I have used olive oil for my skin and it washes off easily. Also you need a good brush.

As long as people use shampoo, the itching will be there. Argus oil is all you need ONCE IN A WHILE. Just for the skin under your beard, but NEVER EVER use shampoo in either you hair, on your face, or your beard. It will remove the natural oils and f#$% up everything good that nature created in the past 10 billion years.

I think to his face the biggest mistake is to keep it so long. 3-5cm shorter and he would be 1000 times better and cooler (of course, as for you, this is my personal opinion and consideration).
I was about ~30% grey on top by the time I was graduating college. But, even now at 43 my beard isn't that grey. Wow. Interesting. Premature grey has many possibilities, I guess.

I put a small amount on the top for control mine never itches. Usual itching is from dry skin

It’s a rare find if a Thick beard and a full head of hair. Most guys with thick beards are bald from the DHT.
This big beard on this guy is just frickin’ awesome. Love the shape, love the size. Dude, your biggest mistake in life would be to get rid of that thing. It is epic as epic can ever get
biggest mistake? More like the opposite.
I think to his face the biggest mistake is to keep it so long. 3-5cm shorter and he would be 1000 times better and cooler (of course, as for you, this is my personal opinion and consideration).

I was about ~30% grey on top by the time I was graduating college. But, even now at 43 my beard isn't that grey. Wow. Interesting. Premature grey has many possibilities, I guess.
