If you have a large sheet of leather - I would insert your image and figure out the speed/power that is needed to make a quality engraving, then put a thin boarder around the image at 100% power and a slow speed. Then your image will be engraved and cut through the outline. So your image will have 2 layers. The engraved image and the outline that will be cut out. Hope that helps.
Dude, I learn something new everytime I watch these vids. I'm really new. And I was trying to figure out how to do this exact thing. A couple questions. Is the default to engrave/fill, then cut? Also, I'm having trouble centering a circle design on a circle. What's the best, easiest way? Thanks.
There are three different defaults in for images created in Creative Space. 1 - Score - which would be like an outline around the image. 2 - Engrave - which will fill in then "print/engrave" the image onto your blank. 3 - Cut - which cuts around or inside your image. If you download an image, you can engrave it. If you want to cut around it, you will have to put an outline over it from the top left tool bar. To center, go to Settings>autosnapping. This helps align the images to the page and makes it easier to find the center-point of an image. Hope this helps.
I designed a vector in Autocad and no matter what I try, It will not give me the option to cut it out, even by outlining it. Does anyone know how to get the cut option to cut out an object?
That's a tough question, I have never had that problem. I would have suggested outlining it, but since you already tried that, then I am unsure. Could you download the image into Canva and change it to a PNG? A different file type may help, but I am unsure.
Higher Power or lower speed will make your engraving deeper. However, it may cause a charring look around the edges. So, you'll have to test it to find what works best. You can look online and find a test template to know exactly what speed and power works best for the material that you are using.
There is a button on Creative Space where you can made different tabs for your engravings. It says "Canvas 1" and there is a + button beside of it. That creates new canvas pages for you to engrave on. Sometimes I like to finish the engraving, then cut it out. With two separate steps. Just add an outline around your engraving. This can be tricky, though.
@@tarheelengraving what?? Not at all what I was stating, smh. Pretty much all laser engravers/cutters can do that, not just limited. I am stating the fact that you called it a printer and it is not a printer! Mistakes happen, live up to them and try not to bypass them.
One of thee best tutorials out there. Straight to the point and no guessing. Thanks
Thank you!
Thank you I’ve been trying to learn this forever.
Glad I could help!
THANK YOU!

Is it possible to change how deep you engrave?

Any chance that you know how to add cutting tabs in Creative Space so that the part doesn't come loose when it's done being cut?

This is a very simple answer… “Laser Printers” don’t cut they print. Think you meant Laser Engraver/Cutter, sorry but details matter a lot!!
Yes the Xtool D1 Pro 10w can engrave, cut, and score many different materials.
