Really helpful video. I’m currently waiting for the delivery of my D1 pro so have been watching a lot of videos on lots of channels.
This video is one of the most useful and clearly explained videos I have seen, and it’s the only video I have seen that mentions the need for a firmware update and how to do it.
    Very useful. Thank you

Hi I have cut 1/4" with one pass no problem ...after that it takes more passes and the edges get charred.

Thank you! These are exactly what I was making! I purchased 4 different sets. QUESTION! I purchased some 3mm mdf. It will not cut through. It’s for a glowforge which I believe should cut on my Xtool! Any suggestions on that? Also did you cut your paper for the magnets on a cricut?

Thank you so much for this great video. I have a question though. I received my laser about 2 weeks ago and I can't get it to cut all the way thru the wood. Is there something that you can suggest to help make that happen?

Hi! This laser will only cut through about 8 mil. If your power is at 100 percent, try reducing your speed. Also, air assist can help get better cuts.

Question, my laser keeps burning the wood and setting the fire alarm off. Does it make a difference to use pine plywood vs birch?

Hi! No, it shouldn't matter, but pine is softer and may burn quicker. Do you have air assist? It seemed to help me a lot. And try increasing the speed of your laser...if it is running too slow it will definitely burn too hot and set an alarm. If you are making deep cuts, try upping the speed and number of passes, especially on softer woods. Hope that helps!

    Hi
I just recently purchased a gray Xtool D1 Pro (not sure if that matters). But I noticed that you use the air assist. Does that mean I do not have to use the hose?

Hi! It is not required to use air assist but I definitely like it. It reduces burn marks when you or cutting or engraving, and seems to help the machine cut a bit better.

Not a good idea to move laser head by hand, this can cause a voltage spike to the stepper motor drive. The stepper motor is essentially a electric generator if turned manually.. if you do move, move slowly... cheers.

The xtool is perfectly ok to move by hand, larger co2 lasers are a huge no to move by hand.
