- This was meant to be a short video, ah well. I hope that this covers some aspects of removing pistons from monoblock (one piece) calipers. It's quite easy to get it wrong and then end up needing to rebuild the brake to start again.
The seal kit for the X2 is HBSPC41:TX2.
It consists of 2 piston seals, 1 bore cap seal and a bleed nipple cover.
Bore cap tool is part number HTTCTC, works with the
RX4 Large, MM4 Large, 09 MM4, X2, E4, V4 Large, V4 Small. (Large or Small is for 4 piston calipers where they have different sized bore caps)
00:00 What the video is about

01:39 Pushing pistons back into caliper
03:52 Removing piston 1
05:44 Undoing bore cap
07:10 Removing piston 2
08:30 Remove piston seal (1) before bore cap
09:37 Removing bore cap
09:47 Removing bore cap o-ring
10:31 Removing piston seal (2)
11:20 HBSPC41:TX2 (Seal kit used)
11:32 Clean where any seals or o-ring sit
12:06 Soak your seals in DOT fluid if you want
12:38 Seal (2) install
13:45 Installing piston 1
16:02 Installing bore cap o-ring
18:15 Installing bore cap (Tighten anti-clockwise)
19:52 Seal (1) install
21:31 Installing piston 2
22:18 Piston should close to flush with the caliper body (Build is finished)
23:24 Not useful, just messing with the editor
24:07 Don't be alarmed if theirs fluid around the pistons or bubbles (Extra info)
25:00 I use the lever feel as a guide (reach adjuster set so screw is flush with brass bushing) - กีฬา
So that's why it wasn't coming loose when I tried turning the bore cap to the left...
Luckily I had the sense to stop before damaging anything
Thanks for the video!
You're welcome. It's a strange design choice from Hope with that one.
