  • The lives of nearly a million Rohingya who escaped Myanmar to Bangladesh are being uprooted again.
Bangladesh's government has started moving thousands of them to a remote island that's prone to cyclones and floods.
It's rejecting criticism from rights groups that the new camp on Bhasan Char is unsafe.
So why is there still no permanent solution to the crisis, three years after the Rohinyga were forced from their homes?
    Presenter: Mohammed Jamjoom
    Guests:
    Yasmin Ullah - Rohingya activist
Saad Hammadi - South Asia Campaigner at Amnesty International who focuses on Bangladesh
Dr Ambia Perveen - Chair, European Rohingya Council

      What started the Rohingya problem?
Beginning in 2012, the first incident occurred when a group of Rohingya men were accused of the rape and murder of a Buddhist woman (Albert 4). Buddhist nationalists retaliated by killing and burning Rohingya homes. The international community responded by denouncing this "campaign of ethnic cleansing".

This is much more effective and humanitarian solution to this problem compare to other refugee crisis around the world. Can you ever show any kind of relocation of refugees around the world with having good accommodation, sanitary, food and security what that is provided in Bangladesh which is one of the most populated country of the world 18 million even millions of her own citizens is not provided with these facilities???
One thing you need to understand that Bangladesh had received a less money from International organisations comparison to other refugee crisis faced countries.

Why are they victim-blaming the Bangladeshi government. Can they not appreciate the work that the Bangladeshi government is doing, which the UN was supposed to do themselves? They need to fix the problem in Myanmar because it’s getting out of control. Why don’t they give the North Rakhine area to Bangladesh. Bangladesh has a massive population in comparison to their land mass. How can they house such an influx of people. This can only mean one thing: they’re not helping Bangladesh, instead victim blaming them because they are a Muslim-majority country.

They were rich and educated, even in Malaysia they are working hard and earning enough, but what they really want either go back to their home country live life normally, if Bangladesh succeed to put them back to track they will be a great asset for their nation, their sincerity and hardwork will bring prosperity to Bangladesh.

I cannot help laughing when you talk about the Rohinga people being traumatized at the thought of repatriation at Vashanchar. The real trauma they experienced occurred in Myanmar where they were being burnt alive, their children being thrown in the fire and their women being raped by the Myanmar Army. Why did not you talk about that trauma, may I ask you, Mr. Journalist?

If Bangladesh had the financial prowess of Qatar, it would've been even more amazing. Bangladesh has the highest density of population itself (in the world) they're still doing so much.
