- The UN is demanding international support for Rohingya refugees struggling to survive in camps in Bangladesh.
They were forced to leave their homes in Myanmar in 2017, when the military launched a crackdown against the mainly Muslim minority.
Talks on their repatriation stalled last year, when Myanmar's military took power in a coup.
With much of the world's attention on the Ukraine war, what must be done to support the Rohingya?

Buddhism is the most peaceful religion and Buddhists are very tolerant and peaceful what did Rohingyas do to be kicked out of Myanmar in the first place?
From a hardline Buddhist monk perspective that I watched his interview he claims Rohingya families try for decades to have children as many as possible to increase Muslim population. In India, I also watched report that Muslim men have been trying to get married to non Muslim women to convert them.

Qatar has a vast stretch of vacant land along with huge money. They should help them settle in Qatar. Also Qatar has a dearth of the labour force which can be filled by Rohingyas

If wealthier/powerful nations negotiated with Myanmar, they could try to negotiate a purchase of the Northwestern tip of Rakhine state (where most of the Rohingya lived) to become Bangladesh sovereign territory, thereby resolving the crisis, and securing a homeland for the Rohingya, while also leaving Myanmar with its much desired for security and social cohesion (as far as this crisis is concerned), as well as paying a lot of corrupt Junta officials a lot of money.

Majority of Rakhine state is under the control of the AA aka Arakan Army the strongest of all the ethnic groups. The already have their own govt set up & the Burmese military had to ask permission to enter their territory. The Rohingyas are now under their control.

You are talking about closing of schools. But you know why was this happened? The schools were instructed to teach in Burmese medium. But they violated the rules by teaching them in Bangla medium. Moreover, some of the teachers of some schools were involved with terrorist activities and involeved with ARSA.

During the years of the Covid 19 pandemic, with the kids out of school, in our area we got together and got a huge unused theatre screen and masked and spaced the kids nicely by grade, in an open lot and got on with their education. Just like the one huge classroom, they had in days gone by. The kids in our area did not miss a thing. It caught on ,the other town over copied us. I pity the Rohingyan people but I also understand where Myanmar is coming from. If justice and being right is to be considered in this debate, Myanmar's right to protect its borders and territory from invaders is justified. But if human lives is the only premise and argument in this debate, I'm on the side of Rohingya that they have the right to have basic human rights that includes the right to abode and have a piece of this earth where they can live peacefully. However, I believe that that place has to be Bangladesh where they originally came from.
From Muslim to another Muslim, Bangladesh should award land to Rohingya and Rohingya should accept it. Problem solved. Rohingya should stop dreaming about having Myanmar citizenship because I believe that will never be granted considering that everyone still has fresh memory of the past history that transpired between the Rohingyan and Burmese centuries ago.
