    Charles talkin about never being on the leaderboard made me think it would be cool to pull all the projects out and have a hot lap jam of sorts, see what times improve with Charles in the running. Not to mention all the extra experience you guys have running that track surely we’ll see a shake up

    Big build idea for the future: a dedicated recovery rig. Either like a flat bed that tilts with a winch, or maybe a tow crane arm. It should be heavy, slow, 4x4, and have at least 2 seats so you can give the recovered person a ride. I would love to see it.

    I had a Dingo when I was a kid. My old man got it for 25 bucks off the side of the road. It had a Tecemseh that he was barely able to get running. It never would idle in the cold weather; the pull starter broke so many times, but I had a blast with that go kart. I would love to find a deal like this one that you guys found! Great video, and brought back a lot of good memories.

      Those old Tecumseh Engines, In the air filter housing had a tab you could move around for cold weather, Took me a long time before I realized what it was actually for. But I removed it all together and what a world of difference it made.

    Heck of a deal. Best kart deal I ever found was a 2 seat Manco with a 6hp Tecumseh, AND a new in box Predator 212...for $300 bucks. Swapped on the Pred and gave it a spit shine......enjoyed it for the summer....and sold it for $600.

    Ok guys. You have officially levelled up to Dukes of Hazzard status with me here in Canada. When I was a very young kid and I heard the theme song for The Dukes of Hazzard start playing on our 10 inch black and white 12 volt tv (we had no electricity) I would run like a child on fire to get into the living room to start watching it. When I was scrolling through my TH-cam subscriptions to see if anything new from the channels I subscribe to had come out I say Cars And Cameras highlighted which means you posted a new vid. Well holy shit shit Batman, I got stupid excited and planted my middle aged ass into my wildly oversized and stupid comfortable recliner and started watching :). Thanks to all of you on and off camera for doing what you do. It truly makes me happy and brings some peace to a racing mind when I get to watch new episodes. Take care, keep safe and thanks again from Canada.

    Revisiting the idea of a $50 go kart after the year of inflation!

    • @lifebehindtheselens
      @lifebehindtheselens 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Uh oh I bet you're going to blame inflation which is fake there's no inflation happening it's called greed corporations who are making record profits want to continue making record profits and so instead of selling the goods at the same price which they're making money at they increase the price of it and claim it's from inflation and cost of materials but that's a lie because their profits show that they're making record profits

    I bought a run down single seat Yerf Dog 32001 with full suspension for $40 from a neighbor last month. The A arms were bent as if they had hit trees at full throttle. No motor, and the axle is nearly rusted all the way through. All four shocks were seized. And someone brush painted it green, and then red over top of that. It's in sad shape, but it has so much potential. Currently stripping the entire frame to bare metal and priming it for paint. Got the rear swing arm and roll bar sealed and ready. And bought two new A arms which need primed.
    My nephews have stage 1 Predator 212s on their gokarts, and they both hit about 40 mph. I either want a Predator 212 Ghost or a Predator 420. I want it to be a trail kart capable of at least 50 mph.

    You guys have inspired me to dig out my old go cart that I bought 25 years ago I’m working on getting it going I bought a Honda engine for 50 bucks used but it runs well and has a live axle and originally just had a centrifugal force clutch on it I was thinking about switching over to a torque converter all depends on cash flow

    Word of advice for cutting woods trails I have cut miles !!!!! if you think it's wide enough make it 3 feet wider on both sides you'll need it,and take a 4 wheeler and go cut the trail in with a bigger machine before the go carts !! It will soften up the ruts and make short burms for the turns the go carts washout alot no weight!!, open up the foliage around the trail so you can see a corner ahead 😉 it looks awesome out there, that's my favorite time cutting in new trails,!!!

    Understand the important of a budget build and certainly nothing wrong with a pre stretch racing chain. If you want to go the extra mile… O-ring, x-ring chain. Will hold up to 450 dirt bikes no problem even. Will stretch very minimally after install and first few rides but after that initial small small stretch you’re never stretching it again. And it’s less “janky” doesn’t waddle around as much.

    maybe some long-ish travel suspension kit/build for Dingo someday? It would benefit it so much imo, both for preventing from ruining the spine, and for reducing overal bumpiness and hanging onto terrain even more, so could also improve laptimes.

    Picked up an old Dingo clone of some kind couple months ago for $100 off marketplace... and I had to fight for it!! What a heap. The tires were replaced with garden tractor ones but they couldn't figure out how to seat the beads... so they used like a CASE of white silicon which of course didn't work. Oh and the rear axle bearings are all toast lol.

    Constructive Criticism: The wood bridge on the new trail has a few flaws that should be addressed. 1) The material is wooden planks, with in essence a polished surface. This presents a problem that will be magnified once any moisture is present on the surface. It will be slippery even when dry and tripled so when wet. ... 2) The bridge width is far too narrow and an un-needed obstacle to an effective track layout. Sliding off the edge and into a very sheer bank, basically a wall, presents too far a danger to the driver and equipment. ... I look back to the bridge on the main track and remember that damage that was caused when, I think Ike tore out the rearend hitting a rock. I also am reminded of the pretty good damage John took rolling the Chaotic Coffin. Any such accident such as that on or near the new bridge would be significantly more sever to driver and equipment..... Have fun stay safe and always remember ... SEND'RRRR and SEND'R HARD ... :)
