I live near DC and the money is too good for me to seriously consider leaving, but I have to admit I'm sorely tempted to fuck off to the middle of nowhere and just do fun stuff for the next few decades. At age 40, with a family to raise, life is serious all day every day with no breaks.

With as much bouncing around as you were experiencing, and as dry as it was in the desert, I REALLY hope you unstrapped your fuel tanks and placed them on the concrete while you filled them! I learned this the hard way when overlanding in an ATV/side-by-side. We had main and aux tanks strapped down to floor of the cargo area or wherever we could along the chassis and role cage (much like you) and between the hot dry weather, the constant shaking/bouncing around and the vinyl materials that were used to make the fuel container, the injection molded plastic body panels of the ATV, along with all the synthetic nylon/rayon of the backpacks, tents, riding clothes, etc, we were essentially a giant static electricity generator! And we had built up QUITE a lot of static charge along our journey! We started filling up the tanks, and when my riding mate when to put the fuel nozzle into the 3rd (and largest) empty fuel jug, a huge amount of static electricity jumped from the neck of the gas can to the metal fuel pump nozzle, and the giant, hot, cloud of fuel vapor that has formed inside the empty 5 gal gas can ignited! It blew the entire gas can to SHREDS, and it ignited the fuel that was dripping out the end of the nozzle and had flew everywhere and landed on the ATV, all over our backpacks, my buddies riding clothes there he was wearing, etc! He was engulfed in flames! Luckily he was wearing his riding clothes, which offered a small amount of protection from the open flames, and his helmet protected his head! And a local 4x4 guy had a big extinguisher inside his truck and he had it wide open and turned onto my buddy in seconds! And when he was satisfied that my buddy was out he he turned it on our ATV, so we suffered minimal damage thank God! Lesson learned! Always fill your fuel cans on the ground, not while inside a vehicle or sitting in a bed of a truck!
Zip ties are a must on a long trip like that bro, would have fixed your chain guard problem and your analysis on the ground clearance being 10 inches was funny as hell 😂.
As a former Steel Fixer, I recommend a spool of high tensile tie wire, it's cheap, plentiful, won't melt and extremely strong as well a single 1kg bundle you'll have enough to make a small cabin. Multiple strands twisted are strong enough to tow vehicles offroad.

Does anybody else periodically check the comments just to make sure Ed hasn't been missing too long?
No rush on new vids. Glad you're safe friend.
Yep all the time 😂
19:42 is the last time Willy's windshield is ever seen intact. After this, it lost a section of the top left, which is really noticeable for the rest of its lifespan until Willy's repaired, where the windshield is lost completely. Just something I thought was interesting to note, because I was looking for the moment that it happened.

As one of the 2.3%, it boggles one's mind that so few girls are entertained by this brilliant storytelling. Loved the song, laughed A LOT. Can't wait for the next edit!
It boggles me as well that there are so few girls. Makes me quite sad so few girls enjoy car-related things.

Ed, just wanted to say that I'm laughing out loud alone in my office more than a few times watching your brilliant episodes. Watching you be free as a bird feeds my soul in this life of responsibilities I have. Thank you!
Women may live longer than men, but we sure as hell have a lot of fun in our short lives! Best video I’ve ever seen.
I'm living vicariously through you. This trip makes me want to buy a mini jeep and get out more exploring. Truly an awesome experience your taking us on. Be safe
I think better buy a SXS

I live near DC and the money is too good for me to seriously consider leaving, but I have to admit I'm sorely tempted to fuck off to the middle of nowhere and just do fun stuff for the next few decades. At age 40, with a family to raise, life is serious all day every day with no breaks.
This is the greatest adventure I think I’ve ever seen. Your editing and shooting styles are brilliant
Absolutely. A lot of hard work went into getting all those different camera angle and drone shots.
Have you seen his other videos?? They're quite good, especially the ones through Canada.
@MuMa & Peter S. Tobacco corp. Yeah, I was impressed by that too. On the more advanced (read expensive) DJI drones you can plot a course through the app so that's what he must've done. Pretty clever
@MuMa & Peter S. Tobacco corp. No problem at all dude :)
Awesome stuff. You make me smile and laugh out loud lots! So thats worth at least a couple of diners. Greetings from the Netherlands.
why does this have no replies you are a very nice guy

Dude this video is incredible, ima bout to binge the entire series. Instantly subscribed this is one of the best videos I have ever seen.
Ed March! We were worried about you, hadn’t heard anything in a while. Then you randomly show up on a couple of episodes of Itchy Boots and make me jump out of my seat! Now, driving across Utah in a mini Jeep! Glad to see things are going well for you! Can’t wait to see this series

Caught him on itchy boots too.
I feel a connection as met her in Diani when she was in Kenya.
I knew there was a TH-cam youniverse when they met.
I really hope everyone watching appreciates just how much effort goes into the filming, especially the dronework. Awesome channel
It's funny: with other channels I'd be judging this as an artificial cliffhanger.
But this is Ed, I'm happy to wait another day, as I'm sure it'll be worth it. Thanks for the joyful videos you keep making, were waiting in happy anticipation for the next one!
Yeah this is just a genuine cockup haha
i said the exact same thing to my friend that i introduced to the channel. i told him "you gotta just give him time, its worth it."

Ed is a cliffhanger himself, it's natural. :b
Everyone should carry zipties in every rig. I throw at least 5-10 in everything. I would carry much more in my old Toyota I'd take offroad lol.
I came here to to make the same comment re zip ties.
Them and duct tap
As a former Steel Fixer, I recommend a spool of high tensile tie wire, it's cheap, plentiful, won't melt and extremely strong as well a single 1kg bundle you'll have enough to make a small cabin. Multiple strands twisted are strong enough to tow vehicles offroad.
@@Sion_RevanI’ve heard from first hand account that many things in the armed forces are rigged with tie wire.

Nutter. Absolutely brilliant. A few years ago I drove coast to coast across America. My 12,500 miles had a bit more humanity around as I was driving but they were still long, but awesome, days.
How long did 12500 miles take
“So being a guy, this thing is about…. 10 inches!” I fucking cackled at this. Haha cheers mate, thanks for the footage.

Only found this channel an hour ago and it is rapidly becoming one of my favourites! Very much looking forward to watching the back catalogue. Thanks Ed, and good luck!
I love the soft pitches for manufacturer gear donations. You should get a letter posted and have everyone send it to the manufacturers!

The saga of him coming to the realization that he can just turn the water bottle upside down so it doesn't leak out of the pinhole was truly a tale for the ages

Honestly the pop up tent folding ability was very impressive
All of Utah and the western part of Colorado have the friendliest people. That's why I've chosen to live here.
I gotta say, this is a lot better than I expected. Liked and subbed. As someone from Moab, I approve of this man's undeniably moronic yet somehow very relaxed and fun quest.
So one “Idiot in pain” sets a premier. They say misery likes company so you keeping us waiting keeps us in pain too. Well played Mr March, well played. Often solo, never alone!
I'm glad there are people out there who will figure out if the mini jeep will make it to Moab.
Right? He was sent from God😳

It's actually pretty impressive that it can reach 25 mph, with the stock engine. I wonder if you could tune the engine to get more power and speed.. 8 hp isn't too bad for something small. It would probably be super fun with a 125cc 2 stroke motocross engine.
Epic adventure as always. Ed's pain isn't wasted, it's a worthy sacrifice for his fans.
It's awesome to see ed finally getting the views he deserves
I was just going to say the same! The whole trip from Alaska to Argentina sometimes had criminally low views seeing how much time and effort went into them.

Dude watching this I was literally on the edge of my seat.
Gas leak, dead battery, almost falling off, keeping a straight line on a narrow path with shotty handling, broken chain guard, riding on E.
This shit was better than a 2 hour big budget movie!!
Great Trip! The only thing I would add....when the chain guard falls off, a Bungee Cord works wonders! Or some Duct Tape!
Your videos make US giggle ED. I'm watching at 4am as I want to finish it before heading out to work. Brother, stay reasonably unsafe and keep doing what we couldn't.

So glad i came across your channel due to the youtube algorithm. Watched your whole trip from Alaska to Argentina and was amazed. It finally made me realized what I wanted to do. I'm thoroughly impressed by the mini jeep and was on the fence about buying one until i saw this. It's a mostly flat, 17 miles from the tractor supply store to my house and I'm thinking that it will be a trial by fire for it's maiden voyage. I will definitely bring a memory foam cushion and a real gas can for the trek.
