Hallo`also from tokyo hooow~♪
This radio is Amazing, so much better than the earlier versions, with 999 memory slots, and it will work with chirp. Great to see the much improved display, and larger battery. I do like having the convenient, Orange VFO/MR and Blue A/B buttons, which seemed to have disappeared on some of the newer models. I have purchased several Baofeng radios over the years. This is now my favourite go to radio. This Model is sold in U.K as UV-5RH/BF-5RH in Tri-Band or Multi-Band Model.
I purchased 2 5rm. Chirp will program as a uv-17pro. The charging cradle is verry slow. The usb 3.0 from a fast charger usb c to usb c. 1/2 the time to charge. The stock antenna (short one) struggels to recive. The long one works magnatudes better. A abree "tactical whip" of the 18" variety. Night and day. My nagoya is about even with the whip. This will make an awsome radio for a seccond radio. Way to easy to get in to trouble for a first. But seccond is a yes. I got lucky, and my wife allowed me to get a pair.
There is a Chirp version out for the 5RM now. I have tried the ABBREE 144/222/435Mhz 18.8-inch Whip amzn.to/47sjPWk vs the Nagoya NA-320A Triband amzn.to/3vpGlCb I found the Nagoya just a little better for me. Plus it is way lighter.
Bought one from Amazon on Dec. 16 and like it so far - several nice improvements over my version of the UV-5R. I was curious to see how new a model it was (I stay confused over Baofeng's crazy model numbering system) so I went to the FCC database and to the best I can tell it's not in there yet. A search on the 2AJGM manufacturer number brings up 244 listings but none with the 5RM model code. ? fwiw
So is it unlocked or able to be unlocked?
@@AllahWarriorit fully unlocked
Yeah, I made a couple videos on it. It is a solid radio. I love the scanner.
I'm liking it so far. For sure an upgrade over the UV-5R5 I first bought.
Looks like you didn’t get your AR-771 antenna
I use this one instead most of the time. amzn.to/3TWv5FE The version I bought came with the stock Baofeng antenna.
Great Video!😁👍
Good 👍
Can you use CHIRP to program it?
Yes. Works with cheap Baofeng USB cord also.
@@CameraRay Awesome! What radio do you use to program it? I didn't see the 5RM on the list.
Baofeng 5RM has been added with the latest update to CHIRP-next.
@@CameraRay thank you!!!
No problem.
I'm having trouble figuring out the 5rm. First radio so i don't kno much. Need help!
How do I get out of input password I don’t have a password for my Baofeng 5RM when I turned my radio on thanks Kevin
Try 000000
Hey dude do you have any idea how to change the default password
Great video thanks for the info, Do you know the difference between the Baofeng AR-5RM and the Baofeng 5RM ??? Thanks 👍
They appear to be the same radio but the AR-5RM is pictured with a different antenna.
Which one is a better overall, this one, the UV17 or the UV21? Thanks
If I was buying one i would go with the UV-17 pro GPS. amzn.to/49JFVFz It has airband, GPS, and USB-C charging. I like the feel in my hand better also.
does the Nagoya triband antenna work for the AM/FM frequencies too, or do I need another antenna for that?
This Nagoya multi band is the one I am very happy with. amzn.to/3SXUcJ7 It works with all bands and is great with AM Airband and FM radio channels.
Well does that mean I could hear pilots talk
Yes.
How to use the wireless programmer for this radio 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Do you still have the antenna that can with the 5RM or did you change it out to a longer one?
I use this antenna now. Works way better with airband. amzn.to/3vLVf5z
Ive heard it has a dirty signal??
It is not that bad for a cheap radio.
Do you need a triband antenna? I just got the same radio.
It will still pick up all bands with stock one. Air band did not work too well for me so I upgraded to this Tri-band antenna. amzn.to/48sk84K Nagoya NA-320A . I'm very happy with it so far.
@CameraRay nice just ordered same one. one. how do you like it so far? I just programed 2 of my local small air ports so we will see
It has been a good allround antenna so far. Adding a Tiger Tail wire seems to help the 5RM a lot.
@@CameraRay good tip
Can you review Talkpod A36plus?
I don't have one now. But, from what i read it is a solid radio for the price.
I think you can just try to get connection with them@@CameraRay
There're bunch of A36plus reviews on TH-cam already
So i work at an airport are you saying i could hear the pilots but not be able to talk to them, because I have to be able to communicate with them. I have a aviation radio but was looking for something else
You can not broadcast on the Aviation band with it.
It's an Ham radio.
Howdy?!like~gorgeous ~ sleep well!
