My husband has an enlarged prostate and difficulty emptying his bladder and leakage throughout the day. I read about pumpkin seeds being helpful so he began taking them. He eats 1/3 cup of raw pumpkin seeds each morning and it’s remarkable at how much it helps him. If he skips a few days he notices a huge difference.

I had very weak pee flow and sometimes even hard to start to pee. Went to doctor and he told that I have normal prostate. I didn’t find any answer. I heard about eating tomatoes and one day I cooked one whole tomato in olive oil. Results were amazing. No more weak pee flow or other pee related problem. I am relaxed and never saw my doctor again. I cook one tomato with eggs and eat it almost every day.

[00:00] Enlarged prostate is a common condition in men. A healthy prostate is about the size of a walnut.
[00:26] explanation Prostate enlargement is caused by an increase in activity of an enzyme that converts testosterone into DHT, a more powerful hormone.
[01:17] DHT is supposed to decrease as men age, but an enzyme makes more DHT which enlarges the prostate.
[01:44] Medication can reduce prostate enlargement by 23% but has side effects like decreased libido and increased risk of prostate cancer.
[02:11] Lycopene is a natural enzyme inhibitor found in tomatoes that can decrease the risk of prostate enlargement and cancer.
[02:52] The best source of lycopene is tomatoes. You can eat them fresh, canned, or in tomato sauce/paste. Heat increases bioavailability of lycopene.
[03:18] To absorb more lycopene, cook tomatoes with olive oil.
[03:48] Milk is bad for the prostate because it contains growth hormones that can enlarge it.

Similar to others, I have an enlarged prostate but my PSA score is super low, I told the doctor I would do anything and everything if it was food and health based and the doctor had absolutely no suggestions. Only wanted to put me on Flomax or some other subscription and kick me out the door and get onto his next appointment. He also tried to put me on statins. My LDL is high but I am not overweight and my blood pressure is excellent, my triglycerides are low my HDL is excellent, my insulin score (HOMA IR) is excellent, I eat really good and exercise five times a week, etc. etc. I am simply done with regular doctors.

Understandable. Over my 70 years, I've found natural solutions to a number of issues where the doctor wanted to do some invasive test or a full on procedure. I 'd like them to be more compassionate about their recommendations and to learn and share natural or holistic solutions. For example, at age 52 , standing a lot for work, my I had a fair amount of pain in my foot.Orthopedist said sure, I can fix that with surgery. Called my dad and he said what size shoe do you wear. He bought and shipped me a pair those fuddy duddy orthopedic shoes. Pain solved in a couple of days and after a short time stopped wearing them. That was the last of it! Another time, with known kidney stone issues, I was having a bit blood in urine.Doc wanted to do a rather uncomfortable, invasive procedure and said 'what do you think'. I said no thank you! What else you got? He suggested flomax... I took it for a short spell and expelled the stone. No fuss no muss. Oh and a friend told me about drinking a glass of water with fresh squeezed lemon, daily, to keep stones at bay. That was some time ago and it seems to have helped dramatically. Told my doc about it after about a year and know what he said? yes, that's a good thing to do.

I would like to put forth my deepest thanks to dr Berg, you are my hero. Half a year ago, I was a a tired blob of overweight and a screaming absence of energy, I sat through my days and dreamed of doing stuff. Then, luck would have it that I stumbled on one of your videos on intermittent fasting. I watched it and was in awe about the scientific facts behind it. From there I have watched your videos daily and it has turned my life around. The way you present the mechanics behind the scenes and explains how things (foods and different part of the body) work really inspires me to shape my days in a whole other way than I did before. Now I eat real foods, with nutritional value, in a span of hours that let my body switch to survival mode every day. Nowadays, I sleep around 6 hours, go up, cleans the house, do dishes, repair cars, house, walk my dog and alot more. My life has turned around completely and its mainly because of your videos. Thank you sir.

but lioness' milk is quite useful. It makes man supercourageous for whole his life !
In one of his lectures Dr. Berg said that the latest studies have shown that sucklings fed by lion milk have 2,7 times more testosterones than those fed by human milk and about 4,3 times more than by cow milk. Also he pointed out that the milk from wild lionesses eating antelopes and zebras and regularly fighting with males from other prides is far more useful for courage than from lionesses grown in lion farms and fed by meat from soy and corn.
A cup of lion milk is a must for healthy breakfast in kindergartens, but to be avoided in nuthouses...

It depends. I’m from East Africa, specifically what they call Nilotics. You can us across the Nile River. We are the tallest ethnic group in the world. Especially the South Sudanese people called Dinkas, the massai people of Kenya and the Rwanda and Burundian people called Tutsi. In our culture we drink a lot and I mean a lot of milk. I probably drink 2 liters every day, so do my parents, my grandparents and my great grand father has been surviving most on milk for the last 15 years. He around 108 years or more. Even he doesn’t remember. But his oldest daughter my grandma is 92. I think the environment and body’s morphology plays a huge role in these things. Also something important I forgot to mention is our cows are not raised in enclosure. They get to walk long distances and get to eat different plants that allow them to produce quality milk. @ruger6049 he also said diet too, when my flare ups would occur. It would happen after caffeinated beverages, especially coffee. Or if I had a couple of pizzas a week for dinner or Mexican food. The chemicals/spices in processed foods were causing a lot of flare ups. Along with certain medications, such as, decongestants and cough medication. And of course alcohol is a prostate killer. Those medications/alcohol cause the muscle around the prostate to become inflamed. Squeezing in on the already swollen prostate due to age.
Now, I drink a lot of water, and decaffeinated mostly everything else. occasionally a coke or coffee or beer, But in moderation. Stay up with other vitamins as well and I make my own water with trace elements and minerals. It’s a life style change along with taking supplements.

Mine shrunk from 64 to 47cc a year after I added lycopene supplements to my regimen. Also doubled up on the Saw Palmetto and added selenium and lots of Omega3. I drink lots of milk, yogourt, kefir etc but here in Canada we don't allow growth hormones or antibiotics in dairy cattle. There are other supplements that also help reduce prostate size and related issues as well. Searching online and avoiding sites like WebMD helped me get back to near normal. Easily 90% better than 5 years ago.

@tomtai8165 Yes BPH can occur(but it is not frequent) without an elevation of the PSA. The later is an indicator of the well being of the prostate. Yes there are cancers of the prostate which do not cause an increase of the PSA, most do though. In general the more enlarged(or inflammed that organ is the higher the PSA level. Getting a checkup followed by a negative result checkup is far better than being told of the presence of a stage 4 later in life.

Twenty three years ago I was diagnosed by my doctor with an enlarged prostate. Thankfully, his bedside manner was non existent and after he removed his finger, he told me that the only treatment he had was the knife. That cheered me up no end. He took a piece of paper and wrote down 'saw palmetto' and 'zinc'. He then told me to go to my health food store and get them as he could not prescribe them. I did this, the saw palmetto came in tablet form and after six weeks my prostate was perfect again. I continued with the zinc for a year and then forgot about it. Sure enough, my prostate enlarged again. Back to the health food store! All fixed again. I am now 79 and take zinc every day. No more problems. I tell every one I know that all men over the age of 40 should be on zinc. None of my close male friends have prostate problems, including my idiot son. One side effect of zinc is that it puts lead in your pencil! Don't believe me? try it!

It's tomatoes, cranberries, blueberries and pomegranates. To a certain extent even citrus fruits like lemons, limes, kiwifruit etc. They all help to alkanize the body system.
Zinc of course - found in eggs, red meat, poultry, seafood etc.
However too much tomato consumption could lead to oxalates. Moderation is the key.
Of course add coffee, tea (whether black or green) in moderation.

Dr. Berg, good video however, as with your other videos, I have several questions that keep this video from being the most helpful and what people need to know to ACTUALLY reduce the enlarged prostate:
    1. please include the exact type of vitamin or mineral (chelated?), and
    2. What is the dosage recommendations for example for the Zinc, the resveratrol and the lycopene (not everyone can stomach the acid in tomatoes--so what dosage of the lycopene should one take daily?). Should they be taken throughout the day? etc.
    3. How much actual cooked tomato sauce w. olive oil should one get daily for the most effective result. Should this be done at one sitting?
    Thanks.

50mg zinc citrate, 321mg minimum of Saw Palmetto and I take a 10mg lycopene that has 100mg tomato concentrate too. Get some 2 or 3mg copper when taking zinc or they can be bought in combination. I don't take resveratrol so can't help you there.

as a keto freak i enjoy cheese which if of course dairy. Is it possible to offset cheese's unwanted compounds with tomato paste? Like when you eat whole apple where pulp contains basically fructose + water but the peel consists of( but don't quote me on that, i can mix things up) fiber where eaten pulp+peel comes to the gut, fiber "insulates" microbiom from excessive amounts of sugar.

    • @billmyers6837
      @billmyers6837 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

It's the growth hormones the US dairy industry feeds their cows for more milk that is the problem. The fiber in the pulp of the apple slows sugar absorption and is a great prebiotic for the gut bacteria to feed on. Unless they are organic apples the skin needs good washing to remove spray residue or should be discarded. None of that crap in our Canadian milk.

@thetawave2473 I don't make videos. I just comment on videos I can add too. Not just Dr Berg. Normally Dr Berg is diligent in mentioning Stinging Nettle when he talks about prostate health, Like when he mentioned carrots as a source of lycopene as well. I mention it because Stinging Nettle is often overlooked when seeking quick and lasting help to an enlarged prostate.

    • @joejackson6205
      @joejackson6205 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@user-yo8tw3fs8u most studies indicate the DHT forms crystals that block blood flow in small capillaries in and around the prostate and also hair follicles. The phytonutrients in Stinging Nettle do block the formation of DHT and also seem to dissolve the crystalline formations of DHT. That seems to be the reason Stinging Nettle brings relief so quickly, with no side effects. It is also recommended to add Zinc for good prostate health. There are some early studies indicating exposure to high amounts of artificial estrogen seem to also cause prostate enlargement. Since water supplies drawn downstream from Metropolitan areas where there is a large population putting artificial estrogen in waste water, and water treatment plants don't, or can't remove artificial estrogen from the water, if you are extra sensitive to estrogen, you might favor well water, or water not obtained from rivers.

My PSA score was too high, just a hair under the 'send him for a biopsy' line. My doctor was somewhat concerned. I reluctantly cut out ALL diary as an experiment, and my PSA score fell. Not by a lot, only 20%, but that was enough to convince my doctor that my prostate was fine. My need to pee at night disappeared too! Just as a precaution, I'll be getting my PSA checked again in a year's time.
Today's dairy delivers FAR more estradiol and progesterone than it did twenty years ago. Dairy cows can now be milked during a pregnancy, and pregnancy drives hormones sky high in all female mammals (people too).
