    Thank you Dr.Gundry ! What a precious information ! I am a caregiver and I always look for answers how to help my patients do not pee at nights.Some of them doesnt want to drink because they will pee, this is so wrong. And they pee more at night even they stop drinking early in the evening! Once a visiting nurse told the patient to change pisitions do not irritate the nerve responsible for signaling the blader is full. For elderly the wet cold diaper could make the kidneys to work more/ they like warm/ and more UTI's if kept very wet. Try to sleep with socks, or with a towel under back. Of course exess sugar must be eliminate too from the kidneys, stress is eliminate trough kidneys, too. Some doctors in Europe prescribe diuretics not every day. Looking for answers, looking to help ! God bless you all !

    Thank you so much Dr Gundry. I am the pharmacist and a functional medicine practitioner. When I was younger, I used to doubt your theory on lectin food. But as I get older and have more experience, I came to realize that you are right. I just don’t understand why some doctors have to attack you (especially the young ones) without understanding deeply your approach . Why don’t give it a try for a month or so on low lectin food or preparing food to have lower lectin to see if that improves their health? I was so surprised to see the benefits it has brought to me and many of my patients who have health issues that were not resolved with other treatments. Plus, this approach is free. People misunderstand that by avoiding lectins they would not have much healthy food choices to eat, but that is completely not necessary unless they are lazy, ignorant and idiot. Thank you again for keep preaching your belief. One day a lot more people will come to appreciate you and your work!

    Since starting your diet, about 6 weeks ago. I have already noticed a reduction in being awakened at night to have to go to the bathroom (I have an enlarged prostate). I have also received other benefits, already, like my body tightening up and the fat being replaced with muscle (or letting the muscle be revealed). I am 62 (soon to be 63). My blood pressure has come down and is mostly in the 120s now versus being in the 130s/140s. I feel better, have more energy, and just overall feel like I am on the right track. I am not hungry, ever. Constantly snacking on all of that grain free and high in Polyphenol stuff. Olive oil every day, and every chance I get. And sesame oil, for my BP. When I look at food now, my first thought is, "What is this going to do to my body? My health?" And that makes me make the right choice. Just fantastic!
    Update (4/22): At my physical today, my BP was 117/71. The doctor's remark, "And you're not even on BP medication!!"

I can not sleep on my left side due to T4 cacification of the veterbral space. I was full carnivore and still woke up in the middle of the night. Usually a dream wakes me up as I am a fairly light sleeper. Also an issue with urine frequency are the tannins in teas and other foods as the tannins irritate the bladder. And the foods you want to give up like tomatoes are high in lycopene and 2 TBS of tomato paste gives a person plenty lycopene, which helps with preventing prostate cancer. So, which do you want?

    • @pat4005
      @pat4005 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      But then you probably don't need the lycopene if you are eating a carnivore diet because you are getting plenty of other critical nutrients and animal fats and protein, as opposed to eating SAD, or junk foods, or loads of useless grain-based foods and other low-nutrition carbage.
      The powerful and dense nutrition you get from a varied carnivore diet will allow your body to get exactly what it needs AND make the rest itself.

    I developed prostatitis immediately following a vasectomy. The antibiotics that my physician prescribed for it was apparently of insufficient dose and duration to cure it… I have had BPH ever since. I’ve used the typical herbal remedies for years to keep it under control, but it has become more annoying. As a “near vegetarian” I can’t imagine giving up whole grains, legumes etc… not sure I could sustain my active lifestyle without them. What advice do you have for addressing possible leaky gut syndrome for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes, E. coli prevalent in factory farm chicken rather than along the lines of Urinary Tract Infections. Moreover, the E. coli that originated from these chickens colonize the rectum have a direct shot at the bladder, is that right?
    So perhaps it would be better to dodge nightshades (and spinach and soy beans) at least for the most part to avoid aquaporins? (I have an idea what I could try instead.)

    I used to get antibiotics for my uti but found D- mannose to be just as effective! BUT 500mg 2x daily is not enough. I find taking 1500mg every 3 hrs for 3-4 days gets rid of my infection completely. Highly recommend!

    I used to wake up about 2 and couldn’t go back to sleep until about 4. I was drinking two light beers every evening. I’ve stopped the alcohol and that ended! I now wake up about 5:30-6 am

      twice may be not that bad@@SuperCatlover7777 I used to get up more often and had difficulty peeng. Quite by accident a friend of mine told me (his urologist's advice) to drink one glass of water with a spoonful of apple cider vinegar. Since then, all is way better. I wake up to pee once, rarely twice a night. it is a mistery to me why urologists do not know about this simple solution. i do not know if my prostate shrank or not but the important th. is that I am way better. The diet he suggesting I will try. Tomato is one of my fevourite though...
      Lol p.s. We usee to have three cats :)

    trying to stay away from the foods you mentioned is literally impossible! go to an italian restaurant and say you want millett or sorghhum is ludicrous and not eating potatoes or tomatoes is hogwash. i think we need a better way.! i appreciate your videos but as a 65 year old man its too late to become a hypochondriac!!

    My decades of experience as a health fanatic and troubleshooter at heart. SIT DOWN, relax, be patient, mental notes of dream, and peeeee. As a finish, clear your mind and relax your body, in 10-15 seconds you will empty fully and completely - no need to get up and risk not getting back to sleep. Regardless of enlarged prostate or leaky gut, triggers are; not having a happy ending, not peeing after sex, alcohol, sodium, certain supplements, too much protein or carbs, or basically a general tax on your kidneys or an irritation of the bladder

    Hi Dr. Gundry, so are you saying that snoring is not good at all? Sounds like snoring is dangerous for our health. I snore, I think, because I have allergies and my nose is mostly congested so I cannot breathe easily out of my nose, so I am considered a mouth-breather.

    Betaine hydrochloride supplement is helpful in regulating unwanted gut pathogens , causing the leaky gut syndrome that's toxifying the prostate. Later years are very often accompanied by reduced and insufficient stomach acid levels.

    If we pressure cook aquaporin containing foods like tomatoes and peppers, does that break down the aquaporins and make those foods lectin-free?

    • @joseph_wei
      @joseph_wei 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      "Dietary AQPs are resilient. They can withstand dramatic temperature changes involved in food preparation, surviving the cooking process." according to "Plant and human aquaporins: pathogenesis from gut to brain", Published: 19 December 2018. So cooking might not help, not sure of pressure cooking though.

    • @joseph_wei
      @joseph_wei 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Base on some web search results, AQP has more than 10 types, AQP-2 regulate bladder, AQP-4 could cause autoimmune reaction in brain. So avoiding potato, green bell pepper, soy, corn, spinach and tomato is probably a good idea.

    What if all the urologists👨🏿‍⚕️ here in Los Angeles are unqualified and got their degree through "Affirmative Action" program? But I must be left with this condition where prostate is like from 17 y.o. guy, no urethra infection. However, probably the sphincter of the bladder is off so urethra must perform its functions instead which cause these wakeups. Are there any specialists amongst your circle👨🏼‍⚕️ to resolve this issue?
