I was scheduled for surgery 2 years ago. A month before surgery I ran into this video. It made sense and I committed to it. I was able to pull the catheter myself after one month. My urologist refused to do it. We had tried a trial without catheter a month or two earlier and it failed, I still had blood in my bladder(drinking too much alcohol) that was clogging my urethra. Cut out all the sugar all the alcohol as much of the carbohydrates as I could went full-on carnivore. I have fond memories of the ice cream brownies pies cakes....etc, that I would indulge in. Sugar in my coffee all day. Yep. Took 1 month of carnivore. Pulled the plumbing, pee like a race horse.
@@raymondschuit520 The way I see it, keto and fasting is great if you struggle with obesity. Once you reach a healthy weight, you can reintroduce some carbs and have one cheat day per week.
Hi Dr. Berry, I watched your video about a month ago and then started the elimination diet of processed sugar and grains. Most of my life I've had a terrible diet and it's a miracle that I am not a diabetic. I had cleaned up my diet over the last 10 years, but still ate grains, sugar and fast food in moderation. Since completely cutting out the sugar & grains I've seen numerous positive effects. I'm listing the positives here. 1) better bowel movements, 2) I used to have a lot of nasal drainage, that is now all but gone, 3) more mental clarity/less brain fog, 4) Warmer body temperature, (used to be cold frequently, especially in the evenings, that has improved immensely, 5) I’ve lost 15 pounds in four weeks, without even trying. 6) Less cravings, 7) Skin has improved. I have Rosacea and that has improved. Note: The first week on the diet was not easy, I felt like I had the flu and my energy was low. Week two got better and so on. Thanks. PS: Blood markers: Fasting blood sugar, before 89, after week one, 82; fasting insulin, one year ago 5.6 uIU/mL to 3.6 after one week on diet; HA1C, from 5.6 two months ago, to 5.3 after week one. My CO2 levels dropped as well, it was on the high end previously. Thanks.
Dr. Berry I am almost embarrassed by my quality medical education. Your videos are changing my life and the lives of my loved ones. I am considering doing a fellowship in Integrative Medicine and really digging into this TRUTH.
My husband died 10 weeks ago of prostate cancer, he was diagnosed at age 48! He died aged 62 and they said because he was healthy, never been overweight, never smoked and had normal insulin levels that’s why he lasted so long. He even did a 100 mile bike ride and went windsurfing in the middle of his chemo treatment 💪🏼 It also has to do with genes....his dad died of prostate cancer at 65. I don’t know what I’m going to do without him 😢
Thanx Doc. Been on keto for 5 months and have lost my belly and 60 lbs. still got a ways to go but with diet I am seldom hungry and I often skip eating a day without hunger. And my ‘brain fog’ has gone. Trying to my wife and two daughters to get away from the sugar and carbs. But it is not just your diet advice but the many videos on other health problems and how they are linked to our diet. I am convince ‘big food’ and government have been killing us for more than fifty years. I intend to see if we can correct this. And doctors like you are helping educate the public on the error of our ways and the bad advice we have received for more than 59 years and that stats of our killer diseases prove that out with correlation to our change in diet and processed food. Keep up the great work. Thanx Wayne
This has been amazing so far. Six months ago, I had problems with urinary retention because of a huge prostate stopping the urinary flow. And my stream was extremely weak in general. I was on a terrible diet. Then, I started Keto, and about 4 months ago, I started intermittent fasting (I'm doing 14-16 hours). Now, six months later, my stream has increased by maybe 40-50%, I don't have retention anymore, and instead of getting up about 3-4 times/night, I only get up once, and I sleep so much better. All this has also led to a healthy weight loss: I have lost 40lbs in 6 months, and I am almost at a normal BMI. So, the bottom line is, I know for a fact from firsthand experience that Dr. Berry is correct. I have proof of it! Thank you very much, Dr. Berry, for your life-changing advice and for your channel, which is actually life-saving in so many ways!
How many grams was your prostate, mine is 110 grams, my PSA is 11.63 and I am not over weight . I cannot urinate must use a catheter and I don’t want to see a doctor again. I live in France, in a small town of less than 6000. Plus I have no more money and I am 70 years old. Thank you from my heart heart to yours , Michael ❤️🎶🙏
@@MrJOHNMICHAELVEGA I don't know how much mine weighs, to be honest. My PSA fluctuates between 8 and 13, usually, but haven't checked it in about 6 months now. I could pee but sometimes had to double-void (empty as much as possible, wait 1/2 minute and try again). And sometimes, out of the blue, I got retention and had to go to the emergency room, until someone was kind enough to tell me I could self-catheter. Since then, I get free catheter samples from my urologist when needed. I haven't had retention in quite a while now, so I hope I won't have it again. I'm sorry about your condition. It's really a drag and very inconvenient. I take Flomax, which helps me, and Cialis, too, helps my condition. These in combination have helped me. But if you can't urinate at all, I doubt they will help. I am not a doctor, but it sounds like you need a surgery; something I would consider, if I were you, or discuss with a urologist. I know you don't have money for it unless you somehow can get help with that. If so, it's worth it! I would also do intermittent fasting, if I were you, if you're not already doing it, and go on a high fat Keto diet. That was what really helped me a lot! I wish you all the luck, and I know how difficult this is. Wish I could be of more help!
Thanks Charli for sharing your experience. I am 65 Let me know your age to compare . I expect to get same result as you. Can you advice any Keto book or recipe thanks in advance
Their health does not mean anything to otherwise intelligent people. They would rather run to doctors for more prescriptions every week! It is nutty! I meet people I could have a friendship with, but they are killing themselves left and right eating all the beautiful desserts and casseroles and lining up at fast food places to buy the poison. What has and is happening to their bodies is distressing.
Another fellow says almost the same thing. He's big on a modified keto diet. He got my attention when he talked about nighttime bathroom visits, which was killing my sleep. I decided not to go keto, but to go in that direction. I reduced my sugar, grain, and starch down to very little. And just 3 nights later, no more getting up to go urinate. And 3 weeks later, ED was noticeably improved. After about 3 months, my belt went from its largest setting to its smallest. Most of my fat is gone. Other things are improving too. All these things are disappearing much faster than they came, even though none of it was instant. Thank you for the information in this video. You give details I've not heard elsewhere, details which are very encouraging. Thank you.
Love you man! I’m going to be 74 in two weeks, my only regret is not having you as my mentor 40 years ago. Inconsistent keto for four years as of June 8th, no medications, vastly improved diabetes, ALL other problems gone, many reversed including the effects of CVA stroke twenty years ago (Viox samples from my doctor for gout). Drinking has always been a problem, down to a couple of glasses (half a 750ml bottle) a week with wife, typically following our incredibly wonderful love making secession every Sunday and Monday. Life is good particularly when you fully comprehend what’s REALLY important. Keep up your great work. Truly appreciative.
I dunno... without seeing this vid... about 6 months ago I started fasting, eating a keto diet, lifting weights, cut sugar, cut grains, no vegetable oil, sleeping more, etc... What did I notice... felt healthier... but developed an enlarged prostate after a few months. I really have massive doubts that diet has anything to do with it most of the time nowadays. There could be any number of causes. In my case, I think it's an immune system gone haywire problem that's causing inflammation (in more than one place). I suspect there are other things added to our environment... and I don't think it's accidental. I have evidence to suggest I'm right. Ulterior purposes at work here. I can't clarify due to youtube's algz.
wow. I'm 66 and for me it's just been 2 weeks and I'm definitely seeing great improvement. I cut out the sugar and reduced carbs by around 90%, don't like soy and never ate low fat dairy. I was already doing intermittent fasting and have continued to do that 3 times a week (for 15 hours). Frequency of having to go is about half (sleep all through the night now) and the intensity that I need to go has gone back to normal. Stream strength not 100% all the time yet, but I have confidence that this too will return to normal soon. (I continued to exercise most every day as well). Thanks!
Thanks for this You Tube ! For 20 years I've had prostate symptoms, twice been catheterized because I could not urinate, had a PSA from 7-9, been biopsied and got an MRI. Then I watched your video. Boy was I motivated. In two weeks my life got so much easier. I'm happy to do without sweetened drinks, grains, candy and most fruits ( I tolerate ok low sugar fruits like cherries, raspberries and blueberries and apples ). I used to be up 3-5 times per night. Now it's 1-2. My life is no longer governed by bathroom breaks. And never once in 20 years of reading did anyone else mention the role of elevated insulin levels as a result of eating too many sugars and foods that convert to sugars. I thought that putting up with disabling prostate was just a part of life. It ain't so. I have you to thank for the change!
It is still rare for science or medicine to tell us the perils of eating sugar (and to a lesser degree, sugars) and we've know about it for 60 years. What a stranglehold!
How did you know when to discontinue the catheter? I am 110 grams, PSA 11.63 . Please let me know what else went on with your condition. Thank you from my heart to yours , Michael ❤️🎶🙏
Dr. Ken D. Berry, i want to thanks you. Your information has helped me understand many things from prostate to weight loss. My enlarged prostate is actually getting better. I can now pee a nice stream, before I was barely dripping painful. Besides carnivore, for 2 weeks I have been taking Celtic salt , a pinch on my tongue for 30 seconds and drinking a bottle of water afterwards. This i believe is the answer.
Thank you, Dr. Berry. My father just turned 65 and just got alarming news from his urologist. He felt a hard mass on his prostate and his PSA was 8.8. He wants him to get a biopsy early next month. We obviously are very concerned it's the dirty "c" word, but we're trying to stay positive. Fortunately my mother has been watching doctors such as yourself and Dr. Mark Hyman and has put my dad on an aggressive healthier eating plan. Now if only I could get my 59yo husband on board with this.
Mine is 9. Had 2 biopsies. No cancer There is a protein blood test you can do that measures if cancer is in the prostate Mine is benign and likely his will be too Do an MRI and ask for blood test Do not do biopsy first Lots of suffering I went through with blood in my pee for 5 weeks And now I have scar tissue as well
My blood test in January, 5.1 PSA, went to urologist in March, PSA 7.1, did biopsy in April, 15 samples, 1 was positive, PSA 7.6... Urologist prescribed strict carnivore, and calorie restrictions, (no second helpings). I've done ivermectin every month, as well as IP6 GOLD, today prostate cancer is undetectable, PSA 0.64 No surgery, no radiation or chemo... Carnivore works...
Excellent. Thank you. My MD said that I was getting fat, high BP and High cholesterol . He was going to give me all sorts of meds before Christmas. I saw a movie about Paleo diet. I did that, I eliminated all simple carbs, bread and such. Two months later I have lost almost 20 pounds , almost normal weight. I feel awesome. My Gut is gone, pants all really loose and falling off. I eat meat, vegetables, dairy, eggs, fish. I’m not hungry anymore. Two months of a strick diet is all it take, no extra excessive . I do eat bread once a week when I travel. Otherwise I’m feeling awesome. You sir are 100% correct on your thesis. Thank you Dave Mackenzie
Saw palmetto, stinging nettle root, and pumpkin seed oil, I'm 61 and I started taking all three for my BPH, They did work quite well for me I went from a very difficult stream to one I haven't had in years. HOWEVER! you need to be patient! It took 3-to 4 weeks to see results! I am now reducing these herbs to every other day to see if it will maintain my results

I can attest to the truth and validity of this video post by genius level Dr Berry. I'm almost 65. I'd been on and off low carb for decades with marginal success. prostrate issues for at least a decade now until I discovered Carnivore diet. Even a few months into carnivore, I was still pumping Saw P, Zinc and selenium combo every night as that was the only was to alleviate urinary issues. Now after 10 months of fairly strict carnivore (90-95%), I am down to just 3 Saw P capsules 3-4 times weekly and have improved my prostate condition considerably. I urge Everyone to try Carnivore for just a few days and watch those sugar food cravings disappear! Yes, you will miss a lot of foods like potato's rice and corn but the freedom from flashy fast food lights and artisan cardboard processed foods at the grocery isles will liberate you to a new guilt free way of life! TY Dr Berry!

Doctor I love this video. Six years ago I was diagnosed at one percent prostate cancer. They detected it with a biopsy. Three years later I went back for another biopsy. They didn’t detect any cancer. The doctor asked me what I was doing? I outlined pretty much everything you just said in this video as what attributed to that. I’m not saying the cancer went away. But it definitely didn’t get any worse.
I’m 65 and I had TURP surgery one year ago. As a molecular biologist having spent 15 years studying the insulin signaling pathway, I can say that your recommendations are exactly what I wish I had followed - instead of simply assuming “some guys get BPH, some don’t.” I urge any male reading this to immediately implement Dr Berry’s advice on diet (you REALLY won’t like life on a catheter while you await TURP surgery.....btw, you’ll have no sex with a catheter stuck up your poor weanie - nor for weeks after the surgery - so act now! And Dr Berry’s diet will save your heart and likely prevent cancer, too)
Hey bro....hii...BPH just started for me...i am taking tablets for the past 1 month....i just wanted to try this dude....can you plz help me...what kind of diet i need to be on and what should i be eating daily and for how long i should follow his diet?plzz reply...plzz i need help from you
@@chandubodapati700 I’m a very old retired scientist. Dr. Barry gives excellent advice. I have followed his recommendations with good results. However, I’m following Harvard’s Dr. David Sinclair’s molecular supplement diet for 10 months and getting excellent results in controlling blood sugar spikes as well as reversing my overall age. He has discovered how to reverse aging in mammals. Check him out on TH-cam and/ or read his book on Longevity. I’ve watched hundreds of videos on this subject. I understand it at the cellular, molecular, atomic and subatomic levels. Good luck.
Dr Ken and fellow YT viewers. I just came across this video more or less out of curiosity and for the last four years I was struggling with an enlarged prostate between 7.2 to 7.5 On Any Given check up. Last year I decided to go completely vegetarian and also found out that I'm hyper glycemic. I completely modified my diet by out taking grains, carbohydrates and sugars. I'm also a swimmer and exercise on a regular basis 4 to 5 days a week. I also started fasting 2 to 3 days a week and significantly reduced the portions of my food. This past February I took another PSA blood test and my prostate is now down to 2.5. I couldn't believe it and I had him double check and it was an accurate reading. I told my urologist the dietary changes I had made. His comment eliminating sugar out of your diet I'll help on a lot of levels . He also said if you can reduce inflammation that will do nothing but help your prostate . Since February I've lost an additional 25 lb and only urinate once in the evening as opposed to two to three times a night like I used to. I can tell you what Dr. Ken is sharing in this video works , I'm living proof of it. It's even more interesting is that I've been doing everything he's talked about in this video and tonight I came across it for the first time and was blown away how accurate this information actually is. Feel free to reach out to me and ask questions, and yes I feel better than ever. Lastly, I just want to mention that going to a complete vegetarian vegan diet has been nothing but positive things for my life and for my health and well-being. I also do not consume any dairy, sugar or alcohol products whatsoever and if you're reading this, you obviously have some genuine interest in your own health. I hope what I've shared helps you and helps the viewers think twice about their diet and how they can improve their prostate health. Best to all of Gents!!!!!
Your video makes more sense than many others I have watched. I'm fed up with my "leaking", excessive urinations (Sometimes 2-3 in one hour), plus the three meds I take on a daily bases. I will start today on my way to a prostate shrinkage.
I started taking the Saw Palmetto because I have prostate symptoms. I am not kidding, the next day after I started taking it, I noticed a small difference. I didn’t wake up feeling that my bladder was about to explode. Then the other symptoms started to disappear. I am grateful to Dr. Berry, thank you Sir!
I had a serious prostate problem for years. Strangely enough I've ended up eating exactly as you've described. Here's one thing I will add to what you're saying and it saved me. Every day I took 1tsp of turmeric and half a tsp of black pepper in water. within an hour you can urinate normally and the discomfort stops. Its a great safe way of getting through the recovery time.
That's wild! Glad it worked for you. I started taking turmeric because it's anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory in general. I soon got very depressed, looked into it further, and found that in some people it converts to estrogen. That would be something to watch out for since estrogen will grow the prostate.
@@HusaCreature I’ve heard that too, but then I’ve also heard that some people avoid the depression by alternating alcohol & meth, personally speaking, that doesn’t sound like the best advice though, or healthy.
I had stomach discomfort that lead to an ultrasound x-ray, to a enlarged prostate, fatty pancreas and a fatty liver was also detected. I reached the age now in my sixties where my prostate became enlarged. After a year, I got my first prostate biopsy and much to my surprise and horror, cancer was spotted in two areas. I am told even though it’s cancer, we’re leaving it for now for another test in six months. I was on my Keto journey trying to reverse a fatty liver and the ultrasound found my enlarged prostate. Now that my weight Loss and the fatty liver has been. reversed, I am left here wondering about my future with the newly found cancer. It’s an early type but even one cancer cell is too much for me. The idea of waiting for this to spread is horrible. I lost about seventy pounds and the most recent ultrasound revealed a very cleared up liver and my pancreas now. It’s a win but not with the cancer present now. I remain on Keto, low carb for now. I never had a cheat meal in fourteen months on my journey although now that I am cleaned up and down to about 148 pounds now, 5’8 hight I forgot how to eat like I used to. I have zero desire for wheat, high carbohydrates or sugar. Certainly not in any mood to drink liquor. I have some days when I’ll eat a little more but within in the parameters of the Ketogenic guild lines. I sometimes think it’s easier to fast than to actually eat. Eating triggers more of an appetite and it’s much more difficult to try to keep that down. When I came near my goal, weight loss was nearly impossible. I had to alternate day fast with just one eating window. While I am thankful for my success, and all that I learned I am dispirited over my prostate cancer and I just wish they would remove it all out of me. I was doubtful that I could get cancer because it doesn’t run in my family but it doesn’t work that way. In life, we win and we lose. I will always want to stay in Keto. I am so accustomed now. I just need to learn the right measure for remaining at my weight loss. No gaining anymore because I know where the fat will get stored and once is enough! Thank you Dr KenDBerry and your lovely wife for all of your insightful education and support. I couldn’t have achieved my goal without your guidance. Best wishes, god bless! 😀
Studies seem to be showing that cancer cells can be generated at any age. When we are healthier (and younger, too) we fight them off more easily. My family has auto immune diseases, including cancer, some of which are suppressed by a Vitamin D3+K2 supplement, which I get at Walmart. A quick Google search suggests it may be helpful for prostate cancer, too. Talk to your doctor about it. Good luck.
Any update? I believe even with carnivore, there’s a place for plants and mushrooms (mushrooms are biologically closer to animals than plants) as medicine. Research Paul Stamets, turkey tail & agarikon mushrooms.
Update!! I went on an eight days fast and stayed in ketosis, after 10 days my prostate shrank by 12 millimeters because of the ketosis which was enough to get rid of the catheter and making my life more pleasant. Also, now my prostate is shrinking between one and two millimeters per week while staying in ketosis. I really recommend you to try if you are having an enlarged prostate. Thank you for a very good advice!
By ultra sound and the two millimeters per week is the average. Last month I had I lot of cheese and it it shrank between 1 and two millimeters so I will stop that and hopefully it will go faster @@dragnet1259
I've been on your seven step diet/lifestyle for about 5 months. My blood sugar and weight were up. Both are now much lower. I pretty much follow your seven steps. All my numbers are better, cholesterol, blood pressure, etc . I hope it helps my BPH too. I feel generally much better. Thanks for posting Doc!
Just watched this video. Of all the research I've done on BPH, this is the first to link Insulin / sugar to the problem. In 1981 I was diagnosed with sever reactive hypoglycemia. I changed my diet to eliminate most refined carbs. A few years ago I began developing symptoms of BPH. My urologists have been quick to offer medication and surgery as a solution. One of the meds I was on caused temporary ED and retrograde ejaculation! [I was never told of the potential side effects. I'm still on a generic form of Flomax. I also take Beta Sitosterol, Saw Palmetto, Turmeric and Omega 3. I am hoping to treat this problem effectively without resorting to surgery. I have no evidence of Cancer. Thank yo ufor this informative video.
I was on doxasosin for 3 years because I couldn't urinate. It worked a little. 2 months ago after 1 month keto and 2 months carnivore I started noticing more flow. Now, I'm 67 and I piss like I was 40 again. I threw the doxasosin away, as well as my blood pressure and acid reflux meds. I really do feel like I'm in my 40s again. I notice new improvements regularly.
Your story is just like mine. I lost 25 pounds on keto and went off my prostate meds, as well as high bp and acid reflux meds. I still get up twice at night but life is wonderful again.
My husband has been on/off again vegan for 10 years and has developed symptoms of BPH (he’s 64.) after watching this video he was finally convinced to start Keto. It’s been 3 weeks and he said today he’s really noticed a difference with being able to start/complete and has a stronger stream!!
UPDATE!! He has continued on the proper human diet and we have PROOF it is working!! Look at these bloodwork numbers for his PSA: 3.75 = PSA baseline 10/21 3.09 = PSA (6 weeks after switching diet) 2.2 = PSA 7/15/23 (4.5 months on PHD) He has been able to get off meds for this issue. Gets up only a couple of times a night and continues to notice the difference a proper human diet has made. Oh, and he's also lost 18lbs!!
I started following these recommendations at the beginning of January 2023. As I write this it's March 5, 2023. I haven't really noticed much of an effect on my urinary symptoms, but if it takes 12 months for this dietary approach to be effective I wasn't expecting much after two months. I'd like it if it got results after two months, but I wasn't expecting it. Where I have noticed results is in my weight. When I started I was at or approaching 260lbs. I'm now 225 and feel healthier in just about every way except I'm still peeing about once an hour. I'll just have to be patient and persistent about that. My poor bloated prostate, abused by years of assault by insulin and inflammatory seed oils, will need time to return itself to a healthy state.
@@dustermcclean2517 What isn't meant to work? The dietary changes? Perhaps it's time for an update. I have had some improvement in symptoms. Five days after I changed my diet, EVERYTHING got worse. At night I was getting up every two hours to pee, and every 45-60 minutes during the day. By the third week of March - about two weeks after I posted the comment - I noticed my symptoms easing off a little. As we approach the middle of April 2023, at night I'm able to stay asleep 4-5 hours and during the day am currently having to pee every hour and a half to two hours. Which is still inconvenient, but I like that things are moving in the right direction.
Time for another update. More than eight months in, that vile little organ remains a bit uncooperative. The improvement in symptoms I reported in April was short lived. Getting up to pee every 1.5 - 2.5 hrs has been the norm for most of the year. I'm not sure about time intervals during the day, because I need to keep my attention on the project at hand. I'll just say more often than I'd like. What has indisputably improved: My PSA is back down at a safe level, from 4s and 5s to about 2.5. I'm having a checkup next month and will be interested to see if the PSA remains that low. In March 2022, just before I underwent prostatic artery embolization (PAE), my prostate was 120ml. It's now a little over 90ml, although I don't know if that's due to the PAE procedure or the dietary changes. I don't seem to have problems with flow. I'm going to persist with the nutritional approach, because it has delivered other benefits (I'm now around 200 lbs, down from 260, and no longer pre-diabetic) The prostate is a temperamental organ that doesn't like its environment to change. It reacted aggressively when I reduced its blood flow (that's what PAE does), and it reacted aggressively when I reduced its supply of glucose. My guess is it pushed a couple lobes up into my bladder when the changes started. If so, perhaps they're in the process of hollowing out and will have to deflate sooner or later.
Personal experience confirms what the doctor is saying: I've had a number of issues pop up around when I turned 53-54, prostrate problems being one of them, that went away when I changed my diet to low carb and employed intermittent fasting. More movement and exercise also works (weights not aerobics). No doctor recommended this because if it doesn't involve prescribing drugs most have no insight or answers: I had to research and initiate on my own; this channel has been helpful. This is my subjective experience and anecdotal but confirmed by the following: I've experienced a relapse and am now fighting an infection due to prostrate enlargement. Why? The lockdown has made it easier for me to cheat on my diet, less exercise and more inactivity due to gym closure, more sitting long hours at work, etc. Unintended consequences of this C19 fiasco. This deviation off the path has convinvced me to get back on point: low carb, IF and exercise. Love your channel Dr. Berry!
Bravo, you for sharing your confirmation of what worked for you. I will make sure my husband sees this. Today he has an appointment with a urologist. He is definitely not overweight - in fact needs to gain some - but he is open to the keto way, having seen how it helped me with other issues.
I am 65 and now at a point of significant relief from BPH after about 7 months on healthy LCHF followed by 16 months on the carnivore diet. Add to that fasting, intermittent fasting and 2 years of plenty of physical exercise. Thanks for your many excellent recommendations, good doctor.
that's great to hear Torben I'm about the same age and doing exactly the same as you but have only been doing the keto part for about 2-3 months.. Already my lower back problems have started to significantly improve which I put down to keto and quite intensive Pilates

After following your study and suggestions, started changes in food intake, tested after before and now, prostate reduction from 96ml to 77ml. and PSA total from 8.91 to 4.61. It great. This happen over 18months period.
I’m so glad I found you Dr. Berry I was in the chopping block when I started following your recommendations and in less than 2 months I was back to normal and also my joints pain was gone like I had a ON-OFF switch.
THANK YOU Dr. Berry! You put things in layman's terms that are better to comprehend. My dad died from enlarged prostate that shut down his kidneys. I am following your guidelines, sir. One other thing... when I added two TBS of 100% cacao (not to be confused with cocoa) to my protein shake every morning, it made a noticeable improvement in flow rate.

Update, 11 months carnivore; Have eliminated saw palmetto completely and my prostate/urinary symptoms have disappeared. I no longer miss hi-carb foods and only desire a high fat red meat diet. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!
It seems to be that avoiding Sugar is the key to fix almost the majority of the health problems in our society. It sounds a bit to easy on the first view but I tested it, I am on keto since mid of September and I am feeling good as never before. I tried it though my weight wasn´t really very hight. I started with 192cm / 91kg and I am now at 82-83kg. This is the optimal weight you can have with a size of 192cm. And I am 58 years old!
Dr. Ken Berry...I am by no means a Dr....but I have studied the Keto diet for years and I LOVE that you are taking a stand against the fallacy that has been the current physician and dietician...as well as governmental dietary guidelines. You are a hero in my opinion. Keep telling the truth about nutrition!!!
Chad, sorry to correct you. KETO is not the answer. it is a low fat whole food planet based diet.. Our bodies don't like KETO, if you understand biochemistry and microbiology (microbiome) you understand how wrong KETO is and how it will kill you.
Thanks for you're very helpful advice . I'm 4 months into Keto and now I think I understand why I'm no longer getting up so often to urinate at night .
I hope this will help some people with prostate problems it worked for me. I was having the night time urinations about 5 or 6 times. Then in the lunch time I would have this discomfort feeling that would go away later in the evening. Along with this I had the bad pee flow. I have sleep apnea and got a machine a few years back totally awesome, no more feeling sleepy and my acid re flux went away completely. I have just the nasal mask but since I have congestion sometimes and breath out my mouth it make the rewards of the sleep machine not valid. I tried a full mask and did not like it so what I did was I got a snoring chin strap to keep my mouth closed and sometimes I use a nasal spray to clear my sinus before bed. If your not congested then you don.t need a spray. The next day everything for me went right back too normal, full flow no more discomfort in the middle of the day. Anyway I am so happy this worked for me. Sleep is very important. I feel your pain guys, maybe see if this could be the issue. Thanks
I struggled with prostate issues for years, dealing with pain and having to go to the bathroom all the time. I tried many different treatments, but nothing helped. Then I found a simple solution that didn’t require anything complicated. It worked almost right away! The pain went away, I stopped waking up so much at night, and I finally felt better. I can’t post it here, but it’s on my channel.
Have been battling prostatitis for half my life. Had a brother die recently from the effects of it. He too battled it for years. Thinking of going on a diabetic diet. Dr. Berry, I have done low carb in the past with success but as usual life change brings change and some of it was around my waist, it was not until the heart meds almost killed me and no help from my Cardiologist that i decided to just go full Keto. I will be 60 this year and on my Bday last year i started a full keto lifestyle i have lost 53lb as of july 1 with a initial goal of 30 more to put me in the normal BMI range (and the weight i graduated High School at) but the message here is that not only did my BP come back to normal, joint pain subsided, my energy is high, my labido is like i'm 20++ and the BONUS was the prostate issues are all but gone! You are one of my weekly mentores in my program to resolve and reverse the damage that hyperinsulinemia has wreaked on me. I would highly recommend to all that are trying to be focused that a twice daily Blood Glucose and Ketone testing and logging is a great way to bring focus to your program and just how your body reacts to specific foods. Ken Thanks for all you do for us!
there's a theory from china and europe that bph is due to prostatic cells swelling to try to glean iodine from the body (esp. after the age of 40-50). studies indicate that a few hundred micrograms to 5 miligrams of I2 iodine per day shrink the prostate considerably or prevent bph 99.99% of the time. in china, korea, japan, iceland, norway where iodine-rich seaweeds/kelp are routinely consumed (2-6 mgs net of total iodine/day), there are up to 5-12 times lower rates of bph, prostate cysts/stones, prostate cancer, and breast cancer/cysts (and other nodules, tumors, cysts). chinese/koreans/japanese also consume isoflavones-rich tofu and soy foods that are naturally inhibit dht. also, magnesium and recently astaxanthin have been shown, along with vit d, to prevent bph and prostate cancer. all the above are far far more effective than other micronutrients mentioned in the video and 100 times more effective than lycopene/beta-carotene which can actually turn pro-oxidant and have the opposite effect. [people should research and ask their doctors if iodine is ok for them. but in the nations listed above, higher iodine intake is part of their culture and diet.]
Thanks Doc! I think you are spot on. I also find that staying active and sweating a lot (jogging, running, yoga sitting in a sauna..etc.. ) helps with the lymphatic system... the prostate (of course a gland), also seems to be tied heavily to the lymphatic system as well...
I've always been a very heavy sweater. I've asked docs several times if sweating helps to make me feel better afterwards. They say no, it's the exercise. That may be part of it but I think sweating gets rid of bad stuff that just exercise doesn't.
Rebound exercise is also supposed to be very good at helping mobilise the lymphatic system. i.e. getting those lymph valves opening and closing, and the fluid moving. Probably almost any rhythmic activity does actually.

Dear Dr Berry. Thank you so much for confirming why my prostate symptons over 15 years have finally tyrned the tide and function is coming back. The most significant improvemend is the end of ED without need for suplements or prescribed meds. It seems enlarged prostate was causal. Ive need daily fasting for 6 months, eating the right foods and in last 6 weeks using sauna 4 days a week mimnimum 24 minutes minimum. I was only chasing whole health benefits, but just seen youre video and hay, unwittingly Ive turned the tide of prostate enlargement which I was unaware of until today seeing youre video. Lucky for me! Best by far of the results are no more ED! Thank you kind sir sharing youre perspective. You sir are bang on taret! I would say supplements made zero difference. Eating right and fasting made all the difference! But it takes time to reverse years of wrong eating and zero fasting! But its the only effective action Ive found and Ill maintain the habbits formed for rest of my life.
Very helpful video on BPH aka enlarged prostate. This video covers more helpful information that can actually help relieve the bph condition than the 5 different different doctors I went to see in my area. Thank you Dr Berry, well done. I will be using this video to treat my bph & lowT issues.
I'm 72, had an emlarged prostate for 10 years. I began keto one year ago. Four months after starting the diet, I went to a surgeon for hemheroid surgury. When he was examining the area of his future endeavors, he checked my prostate. He loudly proclaimed, "Your prostate is normal!" I'm sure he sees many elder men. I was that unusual. I'll take it. I then noticed that I pee like a young man again. I can hold urine for hours and hours without discomfort. I lost a dear friend to prostate cancer earlier this year. He was a marathon runner, ate vegitarian, occasional chicken, fish, and lots and lots of whole grains. I wish I knew about keto a couple/few years ago. It, as well as fasting, may have saved his life.

Dear Dr Berry, I saw a urologist here in Melbourne Australia this very morning. I have slightly enlarged prostate, slightly elevated PSA and some relatively mild symptoms, e.g., waking twice a night to pee. Keeping a watching brief at the moment with follow ups arranged. He also mentioned hyperinsulaemia to me in relation to prostate enlargement and was pleased to hear that I had gone Keto in the last few weeks and we will both be interested to see what happens over the next few months I have lost several kilos already and feel and look way better overall after years of excess carbs in my diet but, obviously, it will take time to see if my prostate also responds. Thanks for a super informative video, it really helps. David in Melbourne

Sounds similar to Gundry diet which I’ve been on for over a year and has worked great for me. I’m 69 and haven’t felt this good in decades. Dr Gundry adds nightshades and legumes to the no-no list. Beans, lentils, and white rice are OK in moderation IF they’re pressure cooked. Basically a lectin free diet, or greatly reduced.
Thank you Dr. Ken Berry. I don't think I have this issue, but I I'll be 48 this year and from what I know in life is that a great offence is always your best defense.
This guy is not lying, this helped me tremendously, u have nothing to lose. Thank you for sharing this overlooked and valuable information. If u go keto eat CLEAN!
I was diagnosed at 38. I still have the problem at 72 but I will certainly try to reduce my insulin production as well. Thanks for your advice. It makes much sense to me and I have been heading in that direction. DIM, IC3 and Royal Tulsi tea have been touted as hormone balancers as well as regular exercise. They have helped me survive with this condition and no medication other than supplements.
Looks like a good keto diet is the way to go in life. We’re surrounded by bad food choices. It’s something you have to just set your mind to and do it.
Plant base protien, green, cruciferous veggies. Well said, u have to discipline yourself, it's not easy, especially when your surrounded by it, going to try, I'm sure it's going to take multiple tymes
I spent the better part of a year in Ketosis using a no sugar, no carb diet while keeping my exercise regiment high (Weightlifting, Martial Arts Practice, Hiking, etc.). I can vouge for the fact that my urinary flow became easier during this period. Not to the levels of my youth but much higher volume with less restriction. However! I could not maintain MASS and went from a non overweight 180lbs to a bean pole 156lbs by the end. Even though I felt great and had great energy through most of that time I had to reintroduce carbohydrates to get my weight up and within 2 months or so my urine flow was as bad as it was before I started so, I'm hoping to refine the keto diet more so I can actually maintain mass without eating too many sugars or carbs.
I am having night urination problem right now... I have to get up to pee 5+ a night to pee, that is really affect my sleeping. I am frustrated. Trying to follow the keto now, hopefully it will work for my problem.
@@joechino9022 I've been able to reduce my night time bathroom visits to only one roughly half way through my sleep by maintaining a very low carb intake with some cheat days mixed in. One thing I have changed is actually drinking more water through the day but as a mix. Every 24oz I drink contains 2.5G of L-Glutamine (for gut health) and 3Grams of L-Arganine (for Nitric Oxide) with a couple shakes of Himalayan pink salt for electrolytes. I'm finding this helpful all around.
@@gfriedman99 I am as before the Ketosis period. Urinary flow is okay but not like in my twenties and teens. My diet is strict and I take in almost no carbs and avoid sugar like the plague but it doesn't seem to improve my prostate size. I think the advice in this video and others like it are very generalized and not accurately on point to address whatever the underlying issue is for an individual. You mentioned drinking more water... For me more water just makes me have to urinate more often. On a low carb low sugar diet I don't crave water much at all. When taking in carbs I tend to drink water all day. I'd gone through a 6month period of taking NAD+ supplements as well a couple years ago and that seemed to add to improved urine flow making me think my prostate was smaller then, but again after stopping everything reverts back and that tells me its all temporary, perhaps we are just decreasing some type of inflammation.
@@MARTiALYOU Thanks for the update. Yes my flow changed somewhere in my late 20s (I'm 64 now). Never much of a problem though until last week when I started to need to go urgently every 3 hours. Ciao Dr. Berry, I have been following you, and sending my thanks to you monetarily for a while now. I have been on and off Keto and high carnivore also for a while( I recently sold my house in CT and returned to Italia, where I had lived for a number of years, being of Italian heritage, and being married to a Venetian woman). I have( had??) and enlarge prostate(120 grams) and a PSA score of 15!!! My urologist at the time was reasonable and first gave me a Liquid biopsy test. He was not satisfied with the results, so I did an MRI, still the results weren't clear, so we did a biopsy( 5 locations in the prostate) well final result, no cancer. I was taking a number of supplements, and of course alfonzionin ( spelling!!). Nothing really did anything, BTW I was also getting sand in my urine from a type of kidney stones, which I took an Italian herb for. The point being that I was not told that the PSA number is relative to the size of the prostate, so my number was not too far off, I was told this five minutes before the biopsy, and this urologist was a good guy, most go straight to the biopsy. in short, diet was never mentioned, nor insulin. Never was any cause for the enlargement discussed. It wasn't until your video that I began to understand the causality. ( I also listen to Dr. Sten Ekberg). Since I have been living in Umbria, I have been keeping an intermittent fasting and periodic 2 and 3 day fasts. Always high protein, some veggies, and pasta only as a treat. I have also cut my wine consumption to only weekends(maybe 2 glasses a day, Saturday/Sunday) one other thing I discovered from my research is that the prostate does not enlarge uniformly. My does not squeeze the urethra as much as it pushes on my bladder.( reducing it's capacity) Following your guidelines with some modifications, I no longer have any urinary problems, ( most nights I sleep through the night not having to urinate until I awake) take no supplements for my prostate, and take only a small dose of enapril for my BP( which I will not need soon. I also do OMAD during the week). So for anyone that reads this with prostate problems, there is hope for a normal quality of life. Even at my age of 72. You Doctor and your lovely wife are always welcome to visit Lugnano in Teverina, Umbria, Italia, and stay at our Villa!!!! Thank you for your courage to actually help people, not just treat symptoms with drugs.

I am so pleased I came across this video presentation today. I will start putting into practise the dietary recommendations mentioned here. I am already doing an 18 - 20 hour daily fast- now nearly 2 months- so hopefully in time, with the advised dietary methods, this will reverse a current inflamed prostate and decrease the prostate specific antigen level. Thank you so much for the medical education, Dr. Berry.
My prostate is, according to my urologist, 4-5 times larger than normal for men my age (63) (107mm, I think he said). Yet I have ZERO SYMPTOMS of enlarged prostate. I do have prostate cancer but was able to eliminate one of the two tumors and shrink the other to 6mm by megadosing on D3 and K2 MK-7. I'm a diabetic, so your take on insulin is very likely true. My fasting insulin is 16!
@@CarusoLamezia Immediately after my diagnosis I discovered the amazing benefit of megadosing on D3 from searching TH-cam. I also learned all I could about my cancer and when I went for a second opinion I was able to demonstrate to this second urologist the proper treatment should be "active surveillance." I had a blood panel coming up and I knew my blood serum was deficient at 30ng/mL. To benefit the most from vitamin D3 I needed to get it to at least 125-135ng/mL. I'd taken 6,000IU/day for over ten years and my BSL was STILL deficient! So I read several books about D3 and decided to take 100,00IU/day for the next 2 weeks until my blood draw. The result was my BSL was FINALLY adequate at 129! I cut back to 50,000IU/day for the next year and one tumor out of two shrunk to 6mm, which the radiologist viewing my MRI reported as"an unremarkable lesion," and the second tumor was GONE! My oncologist was bewildered! When I saw my new primary, who's pretty great, he announced that my vitamin D3 BSL at 235ng/mL, was the highest he'd ever seen and he CONGRATULATED me! He suggested I cut back a bit, even though, he said, vitamin D3 toxicity is a myth! There's no reason to keep it that high. I agreed and told him I'd already reduced my daily dose to 30KIU. He liked that. However, at my next visit with him my D3 BSL was only 97ng/mL and I judged that to be too low. So I upped my daily dose back to 50KIU. I haven't had blood work since them but we'll see!
This is pretty much my experience. I've been low carb/keto for over a year and just now beginning to regain normal function. I happened across the video and noticed this change around the same time, so thanks for the information. Very informative about a problem I thought I could do nothing about.
Thanks Doc. I was on testosterone replacement in Phoenix Arizona. I had a bad tooth, increased white blood count and they assumed I had granulocytic leukemia. When I took testosterone it estrogen shot up seven times normal. I did not go to a carnivore diet or no carb diet and I believe this as you have said is the cause of 80% of my issue with an in large prostate
Hi I am not a doctor but I have read that estrogen comes from testosterone. So the problem is the more testosterone - the more estrogen so too much estrogen to testosterone ratio still and that appears to be the problem. This is why I will not take testosterone replacement therapy. Instead I read where a aromatase inhibitor will prevent too much estrogen being created from testosterone. So it seems with aromatase inhibitor the testosterone will rise while the estrogen will go down and they will tend to balance. I had a very hard time trying to convince any doctor I need aromatase inhibitor. They insisted they don't treat that. Apparently most doctors don't know much about that subject at all. Apparently you need indocronologist for balancing hormones. Not many of those in area where I live so I gave up. Now looking to see what I can do on my own thru diet and fasting. Good luck.
Dr. Berry, I am 81 years old and just happen to be following your diet Rx for BHP over the last 4-5 years (have had BHP for at least 35 years). Recently, like in the last 6 weeks I noticed some improvement in frequency, so I tried one more thing which I heard might be helpful, that is I applied castor oil external to the prostate, between the anus and scrotum, light massage. Suddenly my frequency is down to once a night. I have not experienced once per night for at least 35 years. For me that seems miraculous.
@@fredcontreras32 Because I haven't combined it with any other practice or medication. All I've done is to make my diet very strict along the lines he is talking about, and I am taking Stinging Nettle twice a day. My prostate has improved a lot. Hi Dr. Ken thank for this useful video but I have one main comment about the 7 advices you are providing to us. But based on many well known doctors recommendations is to totally avoid milk and anything that is made of milk when you are experiencing enlarged prostate. Yes this is what I have read some say no dairy but then does that include raw a2 milk as alot of people say it has so many health benefits?? its hard to find an alterative to milk for your coffee. I dont like almond milk and oat milk is nice but apparently not good either so now im thinking of making my own coconut milk which is hopefully ok?

@@gfriedman99 Keto-friendly yes. I am not strict about (X) level of carbs but I do not chose them except as a supplement for energy needs. I probably get 50 or so grams per day so it isn't caveman meat-and-water, but no bread, very little whole grain, some fruit, some fibrous veggies. Dairy comes from cheese and a touch of cream in black tea so I probably need to check calcium numbers. Thanks.
CO2 level? How checked and what's the indication number for good or bad? Also ways to correct. Thanks.

I don’t know what I’m going to do without him 😢
😢 Sorry for your loss. May God grant you peace and comfort.

Thanx Wayne
Keep up the great work you're inspiring me, good luck with everything
Thanks for posting
Amazing.
Please share a list of foods you had on your diet.
Thanks Charli for sharing your experience. I am 65 Let me know your age to compare . I expect to get same result as you. Can you advice any Keto book or recipe thanks in advance
I’ve been arguing for this for years and people won’t listen, great video.
Thank you.
Was he Dr.Berg?
I don’t think I will EVER talk to a doctor again about ANYTHING! I think of Ken Berry as a Healer not a doctor. Thank you for your honesty.
❤❤❤
I dunno... without seeing this vid... about 6 months ago I started fasting, eating a keto diet, lifting weights, cut sugar, cut grains, no vegetable oil, sleeping more, etc...
Thanks!
Have any update? How are you now?
Wow, I’m also 66 and really suffer from this. Thanks for posting!

Whether people get treated or not or diagnosed early or
late has no bearing on life expectancy. The biopsy is just a pain in the you know what.
Mine is 9. Had 2 biopsies. No cancer
There is a protein blood test you can do that measures if cancer is in the prostate
Mine is benign and likely his will be too
Do an MRI and ask for blood test
Do not do biopsy first
Lots of suffering I went through with blood in my pee for 5 weeks
And now I have scar tissue as well

And Dr Berry’s diet will save your heart and likely prevent cancer, too)
I think you comment is really brave! Greetings from Germany.

I have very low psa readings, but still have an inlarged prostate. So your psa results and the size of your prostate are two different things.
Thanks so kinde can you tell me what kind bread and rice I can eat I been suffering over 2 years now thanks.

Your video makes more sense than many others I have watched. I'm fed up with my "leaking", excessive urinations (Sometimes 2-3 in one hour), plus the three meds I take on a daily bases. I will start today on my way to a prostate shrinkage.
So how did it go ?
@@HusaCreature You need the black pepper to absorb and utilize the Turmeric.
Good luck.

Diet does make a difference. No wonder sugar is in everything. They want you guys to suffer.
Glad to hear, do you have issues with dairy like butter?
Pharmacy do cry now. No income.
Look at these bloodwork numbers for his PSA:
3.75 = PSA baseline 10/21
3.09 = PSA (6 weeks after switching diet)
2.2 = PSA 7/15/23 (4.5 months on PHD)
He has been able to get off meds for this issue.
Keep us posted!
Because it's not meant to work.
@@dustermcclean2517 interested in your view if you can elaborate.
I hope this will help some people with prostate problems it worked for me.
I was having the night time urinations about 5 or 6 times.
Then in the lunch time I would have this discomfort feeling that would go away later in the evening.
Along with this I had the bad pee flow.
I have sleep apnea and got a machine a few years back totally awesome, no more feeling sleepy and my
acid re flux went away completely.
Anyway I am so happy this worked for me.

there's a theory from china and europe that bph is due to prostatic cells swelling to try to glean iodine from the body (esp. after the age of 40-50). studies indicate that a few hundred micrograms to 5 miligrams of I2 iodine per day shrink the prostate considerably or prevent bph 99.99% of the time. in china, korea, japan, iceland, norway where iodine-rich seaweeds/kelp are routinely consumed (2-6 mgs net of total iodine/day), there are up to 5-12 times lower rates of bph, prostate cysts/stones, prostate cancer, and breast cancer/cysts (and other nodules, tumors, cysts). chinese/koreans/japanese also consume isoflavones-rich tofu and soy foods that are naturally inhibit dht. also, magnesium and recently astaxanthin have been shown, along with vit d, to prevent bph and prostate cancer. all the above are far far more effective than other micronutrients mentioned in the video and 100 times more effective than lycopene/beta-carotene which can actually turn pro-oxidant and have the opposite effect. [people should research and ask their doctors if iodine is ok for them. but in the nations listed above, higher iodine intake is part of their culture and diet.]
Most doctors don't know about iodine, other t!Han to call it poison!
Thanks Doc! I think you are spot on. I also find that staying active and sweating a lot (jogging, running, yoga sitting in a sauna..etc.. ) helps with the lymphatic system... the prostate (of course a gland), also seems to be tied heavily to the lymphatic system as well...
I believe you are right about this
Thank yu very much Doc. for yr advice. Eating two dates a day and one or two tea spoon of honey : does it have a negative effect on prostate?
I've always been a very heavy sweater. I've asked docs several times if sweating helps to make me feel better afterwards. They say no, it's the exercise. That may be part of it but I think sweating gets rid of bad stuff that just exercise doesn't.
Rebound exercise is also supposed to be very good at helping mobilise the lymphatic system. i.e. getting those lymph valves opening and closing, and the fluid moving. Probably almost any rhythmic activity does actually.

@@MARTiALYOU How are you now? I thinking of drinking more water.
My does not squeeze the urethra as much as it pushes on my bladder.( reducing it's capacity)
Following your guidelines with some modifications, I no longer have any urinary problems, ( most nights I sleep through the night not having to urinate until I awake) take no supplements for my prostate, and take only a small dose of enapril for my BP( which I will not need soon. In most comments, patients look satisfied with this dieting method and recommended to others.
How UI of D3 vitamin do you take daily? Thank you Sir
@@CarusoLamezia
Immediately after my diagnosis I discovered the amazing benefit of megadosing on D3 from searching TH-cam. I also learned all I could about my cancer and when I went for a second opinion I was able to demonstrate to this second urologist the proper treatment should be "active surveillance."
I had a blood panel coming up and I knew my blood serum was deficient at 30ng/mL.

I did not go to a carnivore diet or no carb diet and I believe this as you have said is the cause of 80% of my issue with an in large prostate
Did you stop TRT and what symptoms did u have when u stopped? I’m stopping Last shot a week ago.
No one will take me as a patient to return to TRT, thus far. I felt terrible like the flu. Now, it is brain fog, mistakes, irritable and weight gain.
Good luck.
@@cyb5761 You are quite right but know that aromatase is far greater in overweight people. You ideally need to lose weight before you go on TRT.

Great info as always, Even though I don't know you I consider you one of my doctors.
I have already tried this regimen and man, it works! I haven't done it perfectly. But it really works, and you're doing great!
How do you know its
Working
@@fredcontreras32 Because I haven't combined it with any other practice or medication. All I've done is to make my diet very strict along the lines he is talking about, and I am taking Stinging Nettle twice a day. My prostate has improved a lot. Some days I cheat, and I can feel it the next day. If I eat sugar or any junk food at all, my prostate is worse the next day, as far as urgency and so forth. Somedays are just like I was twenty again. Today is a very good day.
@@flintlong2937 amazing
I have also found that preservatives like nitrates, sulphites, calcium silicates, along with aspartame have a negative effect on my prostate. I shared this with my MD and was told that didn’t make any sense.
I now read labels on process foods I’m about to buy. I try to eat natural as much as possible and am doing great.
I'd consider a new doctor. My doctor told me to stay away from those exact items.
Hi Dr. Ken thank for this useful video but I have one main comment about the 7 advices you are providing to us. But based on many well known doctors recommendations is to totally avoid milk and anything that is made of milk when you are experiencing enlarged prostate. Dairy products are strictly considered as red zone for prostatitis. Could you please elaborate more on the subject
Sounds good to me. I’m taking tamsulosin hydro chloride amongst others to counteract the symptoms. This sounds way better I’m starting today. Will report back in future. Thanks GJ.
any luck
Glyn Rowson, nothing yet Glyn, peeing a lot though. Lots of other things going on. Colon cancer 7 years ago, although now totally recovered have a few small issues, but still soldiering on. Long walk today (sod the arthritis ). Keep smiling, regards Gwyn
@@hyweljenkins7712 Update? I'm only 1 month into this regimen so far.
Liked and subscribed. Excellent lecture material. Thanks so much for this. It validates my lifestyle at 65. I was already doing 90 % of this and ironically just switched to full fat milk today! I feel my prostate is in good health. Thanks again!
Thanks for posting - and updating - this segment. Once again, I’m smarter and better informed about the benefits of Keto and IF. Well down the pathway towards a more healthy life (no longer diabetic) and the 65+ pounds lost have increased mobility, stamina and so many other negative aspects of the ‘old me’. Thanks!

Lapsing the weight is probably what caused the type 2 diabetes
Holy crap!!! I do OMAD and noticed during fasting I have no issues urinating but after I have my one large meal I noticed I have problems urinating. Maybe I should eat more Keto for my one meal
Anecdotal witness experience here; approximately 8 months after reducing and then avoiding added sugars, no grain, etc. and eating a keto-friendly diet, my symptoms changed abruptly, along with added pygeum and l-arginine. One day things were less obstructed, just "like that". I am also 10 lbs lower and well within normal bmi. Strongly recommend this action!
How you doing now? Still recommend keto?
@@gfriedman99 Keto-friendly yes. I am not strict about (X) level of carbs but I do not chose them except as a supplement for energy needs. I probably get 50 or so grams per day so it isn't caveman meat-and-water, but no bread, very little whole grain, some fruit, some fibrous veggies. Dairy comes from cheese and a touch of cream in black tea so I probably need to check calcium numbers.
I use nattokanise and serrapeptase for inflammation concerns (does wonders for joint pain, respiratory ease, and might be part of my prostate/urine stream relief).
Now two years or so in. Strongly recommended.
And I find without a few (few!) carbs my energy is quickly depleted and sleep is disturbed.
I did keto. LDL doubled. Went off keto. Triglycerides doubled. Just got over a round of prostatitis. 20 days antibiotics, CT scan with contrast showed enlarged prostate. Nobody knows why but i had a vasectomy 2 years ago and never had any problems before that. My testosterone level is also under 300.
Lost my prostate to cancer two years ago.
Feeling great. Glad I did it. No regrets.
Thanks! You're terrific.
Steven Daniel, My Dr. said I have prostate cancer. Any suggestion?
@@gq1bornborn223 Do your homework. Read everything you can get your hands on.
There are many options. Ask lots of questions. You are your own best advocate.
It is one of the most curable types of cancer if caught early, which I did.
Good luck and blessings!!
Steven, I understand if this is too personal...how has that affected your life? Again, if it's too delicate, I understand.
Glad you did what?? I don't understand.
@@gq1bornborn223 IV vitamins will greatly help, see ( Cancer can be killed DR Colleen Huber) on you tube it works for all sorts of cancers
Good strong core consistent physical exercise is key too.
Just i time, I had a follow up with my urologist in April but unfortunately the whole urology department has been shut down at kaiser due to covid. I can imagine many many other people have been forced to miss their other doctors appointments. We have to get some normalcy back before other health issues start killing more people than covid does.
I respect your statement and this is why I believe we have to learn to take care of ourselves outside of the hospital and Doctors unfortunately many don't know anything when it comes to nutrition anyway all they know is what pharmaceutical drug to give you and how to cut on your body parts. Its amazing when you learn more about natural ways to heal the body.
So true, I saw my doctor about 3 weeks complaining about getting up about 5 times at night to go to the bathroom. He didn't say anything other than write me an new prescription for Flowmax. I still have the same problem
Thank you!
Hi Doc, I've been following you for years but have never commented. I really appreciate the information you provide and love your book "Lies Your Doctor Told You" I have been on the Keto diet for about three years, and I'm down to 158lbs from about 200lbs. My question is, why would I still have an enlarged prostate that seems to be getting worse? Thought?
