Attention spans are short brother. This video could have been half the length at most. I’m sure you’re proud of your cool open but it should be 10 seconds not 30. I’m subscribing because your personality is great and your information is useful.

The s5iix is my go to! Sold my fx3 for it and never missed it. 😂 paired with a black magic assist the s5iix top tier. all the negative comments about it being “too digital or too noisey” is bs because I have ppl asking me if I’m using a Blackmagic camera, in their words “the image is amazing and organic” so keep doing what you doing! LUMIX for the win

What no influencer is telling you-
the Lumix S5 picture is better than S5II, it looks much more natural.
S5II engine is way too oversharpened, digital and artificial looking, maybe it´s to help the autofocus, i don´t know.
You look older on S5II pictures and video because of this digital and oversharpened look and you have less of a 3D effect because of this.
For a natural look like on a Canon R8 (inbuild deep pass filter) or Nikon Z6/II for example, you must use a mist filter for the S5II, but this means your autofocus will become much worse as it already is. + the terrible HDMI out delay alone is a nogo and a dealbreaker for many incl. me.
    just my 2 cents

I agree, and the oversharpening is not the only issue. Another big issue is the chroma noise reduction destroying fine details even at low ISO. In 4K, the quality of the fine details is much worse than on the S1 and S5. Too bad because the AF is good and the IBIS is really impressive.

@@aiseurnae5976100% agree with you, 4K on the S5II is a mess. Even the cam is cheap, for me personally it´s not worth the money.

I have the S1, S5 and S5II. I use them since their launch. The S5II is a good camera with finally good AF and excellent IBIS, the IBIS is even better than the S1, especially while walking.
But seriously, the 4K looks really bad compared to the S1 and S5. The level of details is worse but also the image look oversharpened, like if the camera was upscaling the image from a lower resolution. Even my A7III from 2018 has better image quality.
In low light it's even worse with bad chroma noise reduction destroying even more the fine details. The linear profiles are inusable if you plan to crop or zoom a bit in the videos. V-Log is a bit better but still has edge sharpening and rougher details. 6K has good level of details, but with still the bad edge sharpening and chroma noise reduction at high ISO.
And it is not because of PDAF, because BRAW (external) has very good image, very similar to the internal of the S1 and S5.

I might dig in deeper. You are the second person to say this, but I disagree. Maybe I’m missing something. To me, the quality is better in the S5ii, while still having an excellent image on the original S5. It’s interesting that a lot of people say this. Do you own both? Thanks for checking this out!

    • @aiseurnae5976
      @aiseurnae5976 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@backlinefilms Yes of course I own both, like I said I own the S1, S5 and S5II.
And like I said if you don't crop or zoom inside your video, I don't think you can see the difference. But using Panasonic camera since a long time, I can easily see the difference. I even made a comparison video between the S5, S5II and A7III.
Try to shoot someone face using CINE-D2 in 4K at ISO 1000-4000 on both cameras and crop, you will see the S5II has much less fine details on the skin, but also more sharpening, exactly like if the 4K was upscaled from a lower resolution.

@@ryszardzokowski812 What's your problem ? This is not my main channel and what I create with the camera is not your business, I'm tired of Panasonic fanboys like you, and I'm not alone to report the downgrade in video quality.
Whatever you are an amateur or a "pro", downgrading quality is never a good thing. Also, when you use high resolution like 6K or even 4K, an interesting thing about them is to be able to crop or pan inside your videos, so doing this, you can really see the difference with the S5 and S1, so it is not a story or pixel peeping at all. If you don't see the difference or never crop, good for you.
I like most of my Panasonic cameras and I also own all the S Pro lenses, and yet I'm not a fanboy claiming everywhere the camera has zero issue.

@@aiseurnae5976 i dont have any. For you information I am also Sony user, so it's have nothing to fanboyism, because i buy first lumix camera two years ago, and for years i work only on Sony. I agree that standard profile are unusable, and look so digital and that a shame. Working with Vlog profile on both S1H and S5II and its very hard to notice a difference on both cameras. Pixel Peeping is finding stuff that won't make any difference in every day usage. Josh Sattin and Josh Cameron also do comparison between S1H and S5II and it so hard to spot any difference in image quality in Vlog.
