    Reading the comments. Some folks are expecting BOSS to make this unit with all the features of the GT-1000. That’s not the point. The point is the price point. Some things have to be left off. Though when you consider the Bluetooth and touch screen, it has features not on the GX-100. At $599, it’s a great platform.

    Do you know how to copy and paste presettings? That way I can rearrange the already existing presettings to create my own personal banks. For instance, taking the surf rock 12-1 from bank 12 and match it with the Studio Blues 1-3 from bank 1 to create my own personal bank with those two settings from different banks. Just in the same bank.

Sadly companies will always bring the next best thing out just after we invest in last years model , to be honest I’m sorry I traded my GT1 in as was much easier to use and sounds not massively different 😊👍

    FINALLY!!!! BOSS did it right and released a unit that is better suited for gigging and has all the features that make sense and none that don’t. The GT-1000 was just too complicated and not practical for many players. Most importantly, the amp sounds finally sound GOOD and no longer have that BOSS “digital artifact” that just never sounded right to my ear, especially going direct. I have stayed away from the BOSS multi-effects units as a result, but this one will make its way to my board soon!! Way to go, BOSS!!! 🤘🤘

    I really like what I see & hear. I am interested in what type of amp is being used. My personal findings, are to get the real & best sound of a multi effects unit (Many of the independent pedals) is not by running through an true (All sounds-one speaker) power source. I think I have one of the best amps on the market. I use the Mesa Boogie TC 50 watt head & 2X 12 Vertical mesa cabinet. I thought this was the best way to test & get the best accuracy. I think I was wrong. I feel by running devices through a "Tower P.A.-like the Bose systems, whereas the high end speakers are seperated from the sub= the truest & best results. I am going to buy one & make my decision there. I do not think Mitch is running this through a full range speaker(s).

    Im trying to figure out why my tones are edgy without any warmth..any overdrive or distortion used sounds fizzy and fake ...im a huge boss fan and user of their gear. Im using a ibanez jem 7 into the gx100 then direct into a powered 15" jbl. Ive also plugged into my powered ev's with the same results. Any advice would be greatly appreciated..
    Thank you very much

    I have this strange minor but weird issue with this multieffector. Sometimes, when I play notes there will be this buzzing sound. Kind of static sound. However, when I change the sound to a different channel or preset, it returns back to normal. This sequence happens about 1/50 times. It is bothering to having to expect this sound to happen again.

    Always love Mitch's demos. Looks like a decent price and Boss's great tones. Glad they finally updated the UI.
    Two questions: Are the outputs balanced? and Why are they not using USB-C connectors?
    Edit: Boss has had the different guitar input thing for a long time, just not 10 slots of them.

      Hi, Scott! Thanks for the interest. This is a brand new product so I had to get in touch with my contacts at Roland to get you an answer, and I just heard back. The output jacks on the GX-100 are not balanced. With regard to the USB connection, USB type B is still the most common connection type for firmware updates and editor communication on guitar processors. I don't know when/if they will be making the switch to USB-C, but my Roland rep assures me that they find the USB-B connections to be highly reliable for their purposes. Hope this helps, and feel free to contact me directly with any further questions!

    hey mitch , tell the guys at boss to disassociate the touch screen from the unit and provide for a link cable to the unit so it can be positioned on a stand or on a bracket on the mic stand. that way it brings the controller to the artist as he is playing. with the facilities feature set on the floor where it belongs. i had a pair of digitech rp2000 pedals and removed the display system with control and brought the entire control surface to a separate housing connected to the pedalboard via a multi pin cable and connector system. and it saved my damaged knees many years of wear. in fact a plastic slind and a hidden connector can be mated when you don't need the separate systems. just provide the cable as a separate item. another quick money boost

      It does have a looper 19 secs stereo or 38 secs mono. The problem I have with having owned both versions of the gt1000 is there’s only record play overdub and stop, no undo function.

    Hi I have a question. I use this with my Fender Champion 100XL Solid State amp and sometimes I use the 4 cable method or I just put it straight into the return. Which Output settings could I pick as I feel like the Line settings doesn’t work but it does not list output settings for solid state amps anywhere? I have told been told to use the Tube Combo 212 Input but I’m not sure if I should use the Tube Combo 212 Return instead for a 4 cable method (or just into the return) as I cannot tell which one is more appropriate.

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, K-string19. The best way depends on how you’re using the unit. If you’re using a lot of amp models, then either a 4-cable method or direct into the FX loop would make the most sense. If you use the FX loop, you’ll want to have an amp model active at all times. Also, since you’re running through a real cab and speaker, make sure you turn off any cab emulation. If you’re just using the pedal for effects, you can run it straight into the front of the amp. As for the output level, if you’re running to the FX loop return, I would think line level would work well but every FX loop is a bit different so you’ll just want to experiment and see which one sounds best and gets the appropriate level for you.

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, The Lowmein. The GX100 works great with headphones. One of the best things about this type of product is that you can get the sound of a full rig into headphones for silent playing at any time. I wouldn’t expect the headphone amp to be super powerful so I would look at lower impedance headphone options. The Shure SRH440 or Sennheiser HD280 would both be great options.

    Can i run it into both solid state power amp + guitar cab with ir off and direct to front of house with ir like in pod go?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there! If you’re wanting to power a guitar cab with it, then no. This could certainly be sent into multiple power amps, or to an amp and front of house. But this multi-fx pedal doesn’t have the ability to power a cab. It has a stereo output, with a send and return (like an effects loop). With those outputs, they’re always going to have the same FX applied. So, you wouldn’t be able to send one signal with an impulse response, and one without.
      I hope this helps!

      She uses it as a standalone unit for smaller gigs and maybe for some other gigs when doing things under her name but she was using the Marshall JVM410HJS (The Satriani signature Marshall) amp with Alice Cooper and I think that she uses the GT 1000 for effects with that amp for the Alice gig. It's a great amp. I have one here. It's actually the last new amp release to have Jim Marshall's signature put on it. It also obviously has Satriani's name on it. Any amp that was released before the JVM410HJS that is still in production still has Jim's signature on it and I assume that any reissue would, but it is my understanding that since Jim Marshall's passing, no new amp release will bear his signature. The Jim Marshall era stands iconic. There is an interview somewhere around here with former Marshall engineer and I think CEO Santiago Alvarez where he talks about that being the last production amp to bear Jim's signature.

      I'm looking at this for effects only. I used a Helix live for a year and went back to a real amp. There's no comparison. The helix souned okay but for feel and dynamics you can't beat a cranked Dr Z. Some of my friends use modelers and they sound good when i go see their bands, but when i see a really great guitar player like the other night (Brandon Taz Neiderauer) playing through a cranked Fender Twin you just can't argue which is better. So I'm gonna respectfully disagree. We still need an amp on stage.

    Hi, the Title says "Made for the Stage." No xlr outputs. Are the 1/4 inch outs balanced? Or is a di-box needed to send the signal to FOH? A good stereo active di-box is another huge expense. Or will a 1/4 inch to xlr cable work when connected to a snake/mixer?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, cgcarreno! Thanks for your message.
      The outs are not TRS balanced, so yes a DI box is the best way to get a solid signal to FOH. It doesn’t have to be active unless the cable run is exceptionally long.

    What effects does the GX-100 have that the GT-1000 doesn't and vice versa?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Dunamis Studio. The two units are cut from the same cloth but the GT1000 does offer better sound and more features. It has a larger screen, more input and output options, has more sounds to choose from, and it has higher resolution conversion to keep the sound quality as high as possible. Both are great units and the GX100 is pretty incredible for the money but there is a reason why the GT1000 costs what it costs.
