How to beat everyone in the Arena without skill: 1. get the manual-aim fire rocket 2. use the parking lot 3. hide in a corner and wait for the enemy AC to bug out and perch on top of you 4. shoot the rockets into enemy AC's ass 5. win
I had a meme tank legs build called Armageddon with those cannons, a shoulder mounted chaingun, and a comically slow tracking THICC nuke. I used it to bully my brothers in pvp. I'm trying to bring him back in AC6, but theres no arm cannons 😭
Ac1 was not of my first games ever. Despite its horrible controls, it’s full of charm and holds up pretty well. I have to admit some of the weapons are kinda non-viable (sniper rifle for example does not do much damage and you can’t … zoom in to snipe at all - bonkers).
Such a shame you never tried the best weapon arms, the ZAW-XP/T9. The lockbox is about 2/3 of the screen so you don't lose your locks, the shots are fast and accurate, fire rate is yes, overheats enemies just as fast due to high heat damage and the rapid fire rate and you can boost its damage with optional parts since it's energy base. That thing melts ACs in a matter of seconds.
Werehound also uses the L24 missle but you didn't need it. Also, they are a step up in difficulty in the arena making the mail they send you a nice warning on the difficult fight it is. Lastly, plasma arms are my favorite in this game!
He does not. The L24 is a rocket, btw. The distinction is important in AC games until 6 (maybe 5, not familiar with the 5th gen). Missile = must lock on to fire. Rocket = cannot lock on. Anyway, Werehound does not use the L24. He uses the starting radar and small rockets, with machinegun arms. Those are all the weapons he has. I have the game, played it a lot (along with Another Age, my first), I should know what's what when it comes to the weapons.
@@aaroncrawford771 My mistake I mistook the missile as the L24. Now I know why he had so much missile ammo when I drained him of all his machine gun ammo. Also, only started playing these games this year and I understand you are an OG veteran, but a simple correction would have sufficed. Lastly, 2 was my favorite until 6.
The 'Overpowered' weapon I used, is the back chainguns with a tank legs, the chainguns in early PS2 AC games were overpowered. . . until Nexus came in. . . man do I hate the changes made on that game.
A few things since i dont want to post multiple things. Did you fight Mattias the hardest arena fight? Why no extensions with the missiles? I forget what i was going to put here
Boosting doesn't heat you up until Nexus, 3 games later, and only if you fail to take the heat mechanics into account and build around them. Even overboosting doesn't heat you up until Another Age (the next game). They clearly wanted both external and internal temperature mechanics to work, but the external temperature of the environments and calorific value of the generators didn't work. They did manage to make external temperature work in Another Age, but I don't even know if the calorific value did anything at all until Nexus, where suddenly you need an algebraic formula (though it's really simple for algebra) to make your regular boosters not overheat you, because your cooling has to be at least twice as high as the number you get when you add your booster heat to your generator heat (calorific value). The formula can also be used to build an AC that can overboost without generating dangerous levels of heat, but if you use your regular boosters at all during the wind-up or the overboost itself, you fry. That said, the grenade launcher arms have two huge weaknesses. One is the complete lack of any defensive points on all weapon arms (they have AP, but it's limited AND you lose WAY more AP when hit than if you used human arms). The other is the weapon's lock type (narrow&deep) which limits you to the smallest box most FCS parts have (the VERTEX-124/EE is an exception, compare its box when you use narrow+deep lock type weapons to when you use wide&shallow lock type weapons and you'll see what I mean, the SP-VIECH helps as it makes every box bigger, so the difference is more noticeable). So what you did actually built some skill, with looking, aiming, and timing your shots.
How tf do you get used to the control scheme?? Is there a button layout you prefer or do you just power through it until muscle memory can carry you the rest of the way? I've had AC2 for years but could never get that far because it felt like I was turning my hands into pretzels to play it.
I played with the default controls! Since I played two games from the first generation before AC2 I had gotten used to it at that point. You'll develop muscle memory for it eventually lol

I think this actually happened to be a couple times... But in AC3 instead lmao
There is no parking lot in ac2.
And later games like last raven that's not a option either
My first AC game and a favorite

honestly i started on AC Nexus but this makes me want to go back and play 1st and 2nd gen games lol
Can only recommend it! Or at least check out the OST for this one, it's a slapper.

Some of the people in the chat were giving bad advice :(

I want to do some sort of challange runs in the future, so I'll be coming back to this game at some point to try it out!
8:42 That jumpscare 🤣🤣🤣
You've got me inspired to play Armored Core 2. :)
Do it! It's a great experience even if the game is a bit older.

I forget what i was going to put here
Missile extension still have a ammo cost but outside missions idk
There’s no cost for ammo or repairs in the arena. Feel free to experiment!
I noticed that. I didnt figure out how to turn extensions on until i was in the top 20 of the arena
The whistle was amazing, made me laugh so hard on stream
Getting better at production T.
Thank you! Every time I upload a video I don't like it at first, but after like a week I'm back to thinking that it's good lol

I think in ac3 they affected heat from enemy attacks but yeah in 2 it basically does nothing
Finished the Arena in this Game tonight and some Fight were such pain tho
10:34 Psychological warfare!™
I had to ditch grenade arms when in top 20 as a kid.
I think someone will have his chart shown in the next video.
I think so too 👀
great video haha, that ending

I really dont know why people struggle with these controls. They work fine
@@procow2274now playing on the PSP/vita THAT shit stinks cause no back triggers
Yeah no. I'll stick with the thumbstick hack for PCSX2. FromSoft moved to Ps2. We're not savage Ps1 players anymore.
@@RustedBuddy5192Yeah, I played it the OG way for years, the true analog hack rom feels soooo much better
Is Aries just 9ball?
yes
Name of the song in the intro?
That's "Frighteners" from the AC2 OST
What emulator do you use please and thank you
PCSX2 (Nightly Build)!
