Hey Maxthunder hope you're good. Thanks. Oh I got into VD very late as I bought a PS3 near the end of its days, it is only in the final few months of the game I got to see what it was really about because the entire player base became active one last time, it was like I said, the most fun I've had on a mech game in a long time. I understand the movement is not to everyone's liking, being grounded most of the time, but you could build AC's that could stay in the air for ages, not quite the same, ACV is more grounded than VD, I guess the devs were trying to please the 4th gen fans a little bit. What the game offers overall is unmatched though. Given AC6 direction I doubt we will ever see anything quite like VD again.
@@newtypepunk9967 I'll give it a shot if I can find the Xbox version. I also didn't get the game because the day it released. It released the same day as Grand Theft Auto V! Of all the days to release a game! Armor core is awesome but it ain't no Grand Theft Auto!
@@maxthunder2 Ha you're right about that, the 360 version is actually better than the PS3 version, so if you find it, you will have a good time. The release of VD was awful they just dropped it out of the blue with hardly any marketing, if you weren't an Armored Core fan you wouldn't even know that it came out, they truly sent it out to die, GTA V was just the nail in the coffin.
I personally, found Verdict Day to be a bit of a mess. It's an improvement over ACV, to be sure, but still not what I want out of armored core. I found the visuals to be muddy and uninteresting, very much the epitome of the "brown shooter" look that was saturating games at that time period. The gameplay is, frankly, not my cup of tea, with very clunky controls, limited aerial options, and IMO, significantly worse customization. The AC's also all look ugly as sin, and frankly I'm glad we're back to the traditional AC look with AC6. The story of Verdict Day is ok, but it's nothing special. Although, as a BIG fan of AC4 and ACFA, it was nice to see many references to Gen 4, with pieces of Cradles in a few maps, and the remains of the Spirit of Motherwill. And I'll admit, the final boss fight with Dark Glint was very good. The music is alright, although it's very hard to hear any of it over the constant "System: Scan Mode, System: Combat Mode, System: Scan Mode" that's CONSTANTLY blaring in the players ears. Frankly, I'm VERY happy that AC6 ISN'T a continuation of V and VD. V and VD had their time in the sun, but it can stay in the past where it belongs. I would prefer if the next Armored Core game played more like ACFA, or was more like the Gen 3 games. But NOT like Gen 5. No thank you.
I can understand if 5th gen is not your thing, I find most AC fans have their favourite gens and just stick to those games, which is fine. I just like good mech games, whichever gen they fall into.

Metal Wolf Chaos also only happened because it has that America Fuck Yeah storyline lol, its basically a game full of memes.
Metal wolf is very nice action game which is often overshadowed by memes. Otogi 1-2 worth playing too
@@harmannsmith5653 Otogi I have the 2nd game but haven't had the chance to play it, another FS series that's trapped on older hardware.
keep droppin fuckin peak
What's up punk! Good review! Even though I love armor core I never played verdict Day. The AC movement was weird I need to be able to fly whenever I want.
The release of VD was awful they just dropped it out of the blue with hardly any marketing, if you weren't an Armored Core fan you wouldn't even know that it came out, they truly sent it out to die, GTA V was just the nail in the coffin.
it needs a reboot
I think AC6 was kind of a reboot tbh, I doubt FS will ever make anything like VD again sadly.
based
I personally, found Verdict Day to be a bit of a mess.
@@newtypepunk9967 That's understandable. I want more mech games as well. The upcoming Mecha Break looks promising.
