@@austin0_bandit05insane damage output, could make for stun fast builds using pistols/shotguns etc. Or unique kites that use heavy or en heavy missiles, and have fast speed and strong instant damage with melee. Melee weapons have ranged charged attacks too so it would be pretty viable.
i think the main advantage that AC has over the souls genre is that it can branch out (at least for spin offs) because its setting is more flexible in that regard than dark souls or elden ring like an AC RTS would be interesting or just remake Forever Winter but you're a scav AC or hell even an MT trying to build themselves up to tussle with the bigger mechs or hell, a horde shooter could work, could even do a meta game thing like helldivers since AC5VD did it first all those years back
So basically what mechwarror does? There are original games for mech transport simulator nerds but also a pretty good battletech turn-based xcomlike. I think Front Mission also tried to branch out at some point but Evolved just killed the series or something, but there are first games' remasters on steam which is nice.
@simplythecat4068 I guess you can put it like that, though battletech had the initial advantage of being a tabletop wargame so it could be adapted to a vehicle sim, turn based strategy game, and an RTS game (and also 2 arena shooters for some reason) And I do understand the risk given by what happened to front mission but I feel like fromsoft has the ability to pull off something, though maybe not in the strategy genre since it's a huge jump from 3rd person action to top down management Also I'm pretty sure rts isn't particularly popular in Japan (they're missing out)
@@tiagon697honestly, i really wanted pupuya will do Nobeta 2 as Armored Core-like because the mechanic on Nobeta is halfway to become AC-like, but they hammered it down so bad because they wanna Soulslike game in the first place. Yes. Even armored core mechanic works with magic setting and actual human wielding ranged weapon
The closest thing to a Kojima Armored Core would be a multimedia series known as Zone of the Enders which he was a hands-off kind of director (meaning he let the dev team come up with something on their own) for those games. Anyway, I would like to see the data transfer come back. Edit: And the debt system. Edit2: I misremembered and said he directed it but he was a producer.
They've done Unicorn Gundam before, so having some the setting in space it's not out of reach. Which means you might ended having two AC for two different environments, that means you need to constantly updating two AC instead of one. One element I wish to add would be the factions, rather than just mega corporations fighting each other I prefer if they add different organization from a cult to royal families or even the local enforcement government themselves.
Instead of specialized limbs, I think something more similar to Balteus's Ring would make sense, an attachable rig, like in SW for fighters that didn't have a hyperdrive
@@flamestoyershadowkillDammit I instinctively played the [V.O.B. DEPLETED. PURGING.] notification in my head. Sidenote, that's an area AC6 kinda disappointed in, the AC's equivalent of Bitchin' Betty sucks ass.
If we take a look at past entries in the AC series, I think it’s most likely that the next AC game will either take place in the same universe, after the events of AC6, or it could simply be a huge arena expansion.
personally I'd love to see a setup similar to AC3/SL with the style of missions: while the game did have a story plot to follow. many missions gave a feel of "just another day on the job" rather than missions constantly "pushing the plot forwards" AC6 never really felt like "another day on the job" even though you were still picking up jobs to do. everything felt relevant to the main plot, and while thats fine. I found that it hampers replayability because you will always be replaying a specific plot point, rather than just picking up another mission. (not sure if that makes sense or not) another thing I'd love to see expanded is the cohort system. hiring other AC's or MT's to help you on missions, maybe have something like Mechwarrior 5 Mercs where you actually have a team and you can modify loadouts, hire new pilots? lastly I'd LOVE to see an item roster like AC3 - LR and more part "coherency". in the older games. you can throw ANYTHING together and the mech would coherent for the most part. in AC6, the Ephemera parts for example ONLY look coherent with Ephemera parts... you cant mix and match without the mech looking... odd.
I also missed the "Filler missions", they really made you feel like a merc and increased mission variety, which promoted different builds. The missions in AC6 are so straight forward that i never changed builds.
It is possible to throw all the parts together in AC6, but you really need to be an expert in painting and decal work to really ‘make it work’. For the most part it’s been fine for me, since I’m an expert in paint, and ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’. Though I can still see the limits of the aesthetics in AC6. It’s possible to get around this by using a similar system seen in Nioh, where part stats are moved around to fit other aesthetics of other parts.
That last one's a major thing for me. I desperately want a reverse-joint leg option that looks more angular than the KASUAR or MIND BETA legs without them completely killing my AC's speed.
I understand where the hardcore crowd is coming from, but space combat, like what we saw with the atmospheric battle against the fleet & Rusty, is just too awesome an idea. Plus having Space combat would help satisfy my urge to Gundam.
I really wouldn't mind a Formula Front spinoff between main releases >.> I think open world could be fun in the Armored Core universe, too - but I do think it would feel wrong in a main title.
Hmm, special backpacks to increase mobility on the space with a feature to use as a kind of "re-entry" self-deployed system could be really cool. You can have a basic ac with that and then add more dedicated parts, even a transforming ac between a mobility form and a regular form (like many mobile suits from Zeta Gundam) I will LOVE to have internal parts, like extra missile slots on the forearms and the shoulder parts, like beacons against missiles and so. What about two handed melee weapons in special backpacks to get a bigger punch on those stunned enemies? Dunno, just silly ideas that I think couldbe cool
I just want expansion and inner parts back. I want missile redirections, Flares, Scanner Jamming so you can break LOS and get the drop on people. new weapons, weapon variety within weapon types was pretty lack luster this time around compared to previous titles. Story wise. I hope we get a DLC set after the fires of Raven ending. You killed the original Raven and his operator stated that they would "watch this one, See where they go on a Ravens wings" Imagine a new game dedicated to the revival of Branch where you can shape the way YOU want to make things. Have groups/Companies/Causes that you can choose to support. With unique missions for each path you take. Doesn't have to be on Rubicon anymore since you basically nuke the planet in that ending. But Branch wasn't unique to Rubicon. I would love to see Branch inciting a rebellion somewhere so that they can get more Merc work. Or maybe we have it out for Arqebus after Snail tried to reeducate us and our goal is to tear down the mega corp by any means. Using the different endings there is actually a few story points that could be used to spin off a sequel. I would love to build my own Merc group though. Thats why I am pitching this Idea.
Yeah, they did get rid of a bunch of things for 6 which would have worked really well in that game... Althrough some part types might have also been redundant so I guess they streamlined some things
The big problem with bringing back internal parts is a lack of available inputs. The simple fact of the matter is a controller is straight-up out of extra buttons to press for those things, and even as it is now you practically need a controller with paddles on the back face unless you plan on using hard lock on literally everything.
I honestly don't want expansions like assault armour in the next one I'd actually want a more grounded experience next time. Something I do agree with you on is having a story DLC but I think I'd prefer if they went with the liberator of Rubicon ending. It allows for Rubicon to survive and it allows for new parts to be purchased that Rubiconian companies have designed and produced with a unique style and focus on Coral weaponry and sturdy core parts that are heavy but really well protected (dense stats on defence coupled with high AP) that needs a descent generator to run but coupled with a Coral generator works really well. We already have companies like Elcano which are Rubiconian based but having a more dedicated company from Rubicon which specialises in Coral technology would be a really nice shake up and provide more options to choose from which are stylish and practical which I always enjoyed as a good mix.
@@G13-Gundam You misunderstood what I meant by expansions. In previous games expansion parts equipped on the shoulders of the arms. And they had parts like Missile redirection, Radar jamming, FCS disable, extra weapons, rocket sync systems ( fires extra missiles with your missile locks, etc ) With inner parts, they had mines, portable turrets, rockets, jammers, and other traps. I am okay with Assault Armor though. I don't think it is inherently bad same with the pulse shield and pulse bubble. Terminal armor is aids though and should be removed. As for the DLC bit. Why not both? have "what if" type DLCs. I just want more content haha
@RyanWithersAway So you meant arm weapons and radar jammers? Like the games of old? Okay but I'm thinking for the future of the franchise and how it lives on. We have waited for over a decade for armored core to come back to us and I don't intend to let it go again. I'm thinking of how to keep this series alive and the only way it does that is make profit. The best way was the same way the old gens used to handle to make a profit. Simply put make more games with the same engine and framework of the previous game or in modern times making a DLC for a game that people have purchased would also be a smart strategy as it keeps production costs low and profits high so at the end of the day we are more happy because we get more armored core. Just focus on what keeps armored core alive is a far better strategy to get what we want rather than making lists that aren't possible because further development simply won't be funded.
I loved armored core 6. it was my first armored core game and my first mech game ever. I loved every second of it - I loved the customizability options for your mech, I loved the diverging story paths A LOT and the gameplay felt sublime. my only problem with the game is, that it's too short. I could have done with double or even three times the offline arena matches and I would have liked an even longer single player. but if my only problem with a game is "i didn't get enough" - I'd categorize that as a phenomenal game.
I'm just going to throw this here. Because why not, I had actually made fan weapons for armored core. One of those called Jupiter's spear. Which was a speargun a shoulder-mount at one to be specific. That would launch into enemies and hook onto them. Which you could also send an electrical current through
Ya got good points, Coral is something that expands through the stars due to its composition, plus with this game, going up into a new direction would great, this game has so much potential
I would love a separate open world rouge like, where you have a percentage to invade or be invaded by a merc under a different corp, be able to stumble across corp battles or supply squadrons, or ambushed, or stumble across a multi boss area, with nothing set in stone all these things could trigger at once, with your corp allegiance giving you back up if you come across them or ambivalence if you have a good rep at that point in the story. I think stumbling across a player or being invaded should be a highly low chance as each player is a 'legendary' merc, so maybe some graphical or sound alerts, or an intro cutscene showing both players how nice the others mech looks, maybe editable cutscenes - though not a huge detail, but something like a camera mode firing of a laser gun in one of several poses.
If the roadmap for this series is still the same as its predecessors then our next installment should be an expansion that is the size of a normal game, or some kind of spin-off related to AC6 using coral as a theme. Think AC3, and Silent Line having transferable data, or AC4, and FA
Every Gen has this, but this Gen could get a DLC to replace the expansion game this time around. Would be great if they allowed players to explore the results of the true ending.
@@bvc5320 oh man i am hoping. i really enjoyed this iteration, and felt like the melee weapons made it really shine. hoping we get more melee weapons, or the possibility of using them with both arms this time around.
If we get a DLC, I think the DLC will be about the "Branch" as they are the only faction which technically survives all 3 timelines; OG Raven's operator survives regardless. The Branch faction is all about "free-will" and "independence". Regardless of ending, you have a freed up operator. I think you pair up with her in the DLC and go to another planet. As we know for a fact that nearly all the factions have operated over multiple planets. "Fires of Rubicon" is done but Saturn may be explored next as that's where G1 Michigan and Walter meet. Overall, Branch's end is the same in all endings, unlike any other faction.
My good man, you should know that it'll be a good while before Armored Core 7 comes out. Why? Because we're not even done with getting Armored Core 6 games yet. XD I desperately hope I'll see Armored Core 7 and 8 within my own lifetime. And the things you put in the video really do sound cool. Just... remember. A number for Armored Core only designates a "generation" of Armored Core games. There's not one that came out alone, and I have a feeling that this will not change any time soon.
An expansion of the type of game AC6 is, happens to be what I’ll like most, although the current type of game makes it a bit difficult to make to debt system more prominent and actually something the player will keep at the forefront of their mind, given the game is mostly about dodging, in terms of reducing ‘mission cost’. Yes I’m aware you can beat AC6 without dodging, I’ve done it myself. The get around some gameplay hurdles, having AC7 introduce an expansion of the current system, without debt being a huge factor in its first campaign would satisfy most people, and then slowly unlocking additional campaigns dedicated to highlighting the debt system in combination with unlocking new gameplay systems and ac parts would be awesome, and highlight the awesomeness of some systems not present in AC6. The secondary campaigns could possibly even have ac parts exclusively assigned to them, to enable easier balancing of ac gameplay in those campaigns.
Personally? I'd introduce more expansive missions, ones where there are some permeance to them. You'd have short/small missions: 5-20 minutes Go wipe out that AC Attack that convoy Set fire to that city. Then you'd have larger missions/medium where you transition from one area to another: 30-50 minutes Intercept that land fortress Capture and recover data Carry out a general assault. And finally have massive missions that are critical story missions/Large, that have an objective and its up to the player how they want to achieve it: 1-3 hours. Defeat the invasion Deploy tactical nuclear weapons for assassination target Destroy the Arks. Have these missions split into categories so the player can plan ahead before they start them, and how the player achieves these missions can then open up different diverting paths in campaign endings. Also, allow the player to 'ally' with a certain groups for unique parts, locking them out of other groups. You're a merc right? Time to start acting like it.
I like the idea of space fight focused armored core game. And may be more. In Gundam franchise there are mechs for different environments: space fights, grounded fights, fights in planet atmosphere and even UNDERWATER fights. And armored cores are known for their abilities of adaptation to ANYTHING. So it is natural to see armored cores suited for different environments. And fromsoftware already had space mech fights game - their Gundam Unicorn for PS3 which they newer published outside of Japan...
Personally wouldn’t mind if there was an open zone type mode aside from the main story missions where AC can lean more into survival/resource management. Go explore at your own expense with less restock opportunities for cool and interesting parts etc Basically an extraction mode you can do between the more traditional menu-selected missions.
I'd like to see an Armored Core 6.5 before an AC7, where it would be just a bigger and better version of 6 (like For Answer was to 4) and with actual good netcode. The main limitation here is the story for obvious reasons.
Interesting you mentioned space combat, around the time got into the 3rd gen AC games back 05, I bought Gundam VS Zeta Gundam. The space combat felt similar to moving on the ground so it didn't take long to adjust, i could see Armored Core doing the same thing. The Awaken System from GvsZG would be great with how CQC focused AC6 has become. Before the start of each battle, you have to choose 1 of the 3 different types of the Awaken System: Assault, Revival, and Mobility Assault: (you and your ally will be covered in gold aura) gain attack power bonus. Speed will also increase slightly. The best benefit is that you cannot be stunned or knocked down by weapon fire. If you connect combo attacks during this, you can deal massive damage. Assault lasts about 10 seconds. Revival: (revived unit is covered in red aura) when the awaken gauge is full, automatically revives whoever is destroyed. The revived unit will have 1/4 of its total HP and be missing certain parts (ie: arm, leg, head). Also, for the next 10 seconds, the revived unit will gain big bonus in defense. There is a slight disadvantage to revival, but that depends on what Mobile Suit you are using. Losing a certain body part can be a bad thing. The best example to illustrate this is Gundam Mk.II. The first time you are revived you lose your left arm, meaning you lose the shield and most importantly the ability to reload. The second time you are revived (if you can survive that far) you lose your head, which means no more vulcans, so you are stuck with your beam sabre. Mobility: (you and your ally will be covered in blue aura) increase in speed. This might not be the best form of awaken, but it also lasts the longest, almost twice as long as the other two. In my opinion, this is only benefitial to transformable Mobile Suits since they can fly away very quickly. Why I enjoy writing walls of text about random shit will always confuse me.
I'd love for the multiplayer to work like ac5 vd with different missions, boss fights, co-op, and every player able to pick their own favorite corporation to change how the multiplayer story go's i think that would be so much fun
Heard the Furi soundtrack near the start of the video, and realizing that that soundtrack would be absolutely fire in armored core. Just a thought, no other reason to mention it.
An ac6 expansion independent dlc campaign thing would be more likely based on prior history. Mostly I hope that vanguard armor boosters are brought back.
If there be a new one its liekly be 6.5 because every armored core game out there had a half update of the game. Remembered Armored Core for answer? That was 4.5.
Basically the main thing i would want is physical weapons like a mace made of metal so we could have a constant melee weapons to combo with or block or deflect bullets or something. Tho i dunno how it would work in the setting. Also the space combat is like the best idea in my opinion for the seires, and also adding more leg types is a must. Also for my last thought I just think like a practical accessory slot could be cool not just for looks but like if u could have a set of rocket thrusters on your legs or a set of night vision type goggles that are a zoom in/scope for guns or a scorpion tail that you could stab or bind enemies up with or an extra set of arms ect
Well, theres a lot of things I would like, the idea of going to different planets in different missions, but the zero gravity seems like the hover leg thing in gen 2 e 3, where in missions where theres water you like: "fine, I'll put hovers on, or pick my hover build" like... Would those space thruster legs be useful elsewhere like in normal missions and stuff? if so, would they be balanced in normal missions? since I assume you have a much higher flight capacity with them. Anyway, I have a creazier idea, I mean... It's not that Crazy since it would also be possible before that, but... Imagine AC9 being all 3 gen 1 games transformed into a single campaign, with their plotlines linking together, like... A ton of fanservice like: nineball (cause' it's AC9), sumika and stinger, the MoA protagonist could be your rusty like friend seeking revenge on nineball, like... It's such a stupid fanboy wet dream, but, that's why this vídeo exists aswell so...
I hope they move away from being completely unable to move when you get staggered. Maybe just make it so your FCS & energy gets reset & other stats like recoil control get temporarily reduced but still be able to move right after the stun animation. IMO AC6 was a little too heavy handed with the importance of staggering and they could improve the system a bit.
Mmh, this was never a huge issue for me but I can definitely see where you are coming from. I guess it's kinda similar to how it was annoying to have to stand still in the early Dark Souls games while sipping your Estus lol
Honestly, I'd rather AC not go out into space. I prefer the grounded combat they have with air and ground and cover being options. AC with big, open areas is kinda why Gen 4 I'd rank pretty low, personally.
The way I was envisioning the space combat sections here, was also with more of a curated and familiar map layout to what we have in AC6. So you wouldn't necessarily get a whole bunch of random unused map space that doesn't really serve a purpose. Maybe using the destroyed ships debris to create obstacles or even being able to board some that are more intact to give the space more structure. But I do totally get the concern, I was also not the biggest fan of a bunch of the Gen 4 mission areas.
Nice try, I know you just want giant mechs with a Newtonian flight model. but on a more serious note, playing Elite Dangerous has given me a better appreciation for how movement and over all physics to a game plays out. Being able to take advantage of momentum scratches a weird itch i never thought i had. Boosting while in hover mode with quads immediately made me sad when i saw it play that "thrust brake" animation and made me think about an armor core that did let me maintain momentum. I think ac4 does that? I'd have to check that gen out.
I want to see optional parts return, a camera that is fixed to your ac's orientation(or at least the option to change to that), and the return of getting mission ranks the 1st time you play them instead of only getting ranks when you replay them. That last one was really stupid, why did they do it like that?
a fromsoft game where you play as a T'au(from 40K) would be interesting, isn't unkown from working with alredy existing franchises, like gundam, i don't think it will happen, but interesting sure would be
I personally don't really like the idea of Aliens or Tyranids in Armored Core. AC is special because of it's themes of endless human on human conflict, adding space monsters would kind of serve to water down and dilute the setting. I can get "Big space robot fights giant monster" almost anywhere in the mech genre, but AC is an interesting setting that sets itself apart specifically because it is people and the systems they create that are the real monster, and that there are no real intelligent aliens. If there were aliens I'd want them to be scary, apocalyptic and abstract like the Angels in Evangelion, but still the game should remain as primarily fighting other mechs and humans. I really do like the space idea, and the spider legs though, and I would like to see AC expand the types of mechs you can build; a giant spider mech focused on grappling other ACS would be insane. I would also love like Horse-like Quad legs, to make like a robotic centaur or like the ability to make a giant robotic dog with rocket launchers, Or a mech with 6 arms My controversial idea is that the next game should be or have an open world type of hub, with 16 to 32 player servers where pvp is active at all times. You can still have missions or dungeons that are single player instances and encounters. But a giant empty, and mysterious wasteland to explore would be insane. I loved every area in AC6 and the only problem any of them had, was that I couldn't explore more of them. Imagine how fun it would be, tearing through miles of The Grid, while worrying about npc ACs aswell as human ACs ocasionally coming to take your stuff. You could also have garages around the map as a checkpoint system Elden Ring was damaged by it's open world since it made the game feel empty and kind of wound up diluting the souls formula, Armored Core could benefit from a sort of large, empty exploration based game with its vast means of fast traversal of exploring megastructures and scavenging for parts as other Contractors try to steal your stuff in a giant wasteland sounds exactly like my type of game.
I really like you point about how a "desolate" open world could be beneficial in the AC universe. Goes well with some of the community fanfic I talked about towards the end of the video. (also a horse quad would be absolutely hilarous I'd love to see that) And I guess that I didn't really communicate this well, but I was using the tyranids as more of an example to just say that I would like more enemy variety that isn't just robot 1, 2 and 3. I do believe that there even were some sort of alien creatures in one of the older games, can't remember which one it was tho. Anyways I'm also on-board with the Eva type angels lol
We would not be true Armored Core fans if we didn’t immediately start speculating when the next title in the genre was gonna drop within a year or less of the last release
I agree with you that it could get the Elden Ring treatment, however the way I see it we will more so get a Armored core 6.5, because From has in the past almost always released at least 2 games in each 'generation' of armored core games, the second of which improving upon and continuing the story of the first. I was thinking we would see a continuation of the story from the Coral Release ending, idk it just felt like it to me from the cinematic; now that the coral has been released it seems all mechs have been awakened by the coral, and we will see a renaissance of machine/coral blending with human consciousness. So I was thinking the game would take place on Rubicon post coral release, could even be like a survival / open world / maybe even battle royale type thing, post coral release.
there probably wont be an Armored Core 7 at least not so soon. As Far as I remember, Every Numbered Armored Core generation has had a sequel to it. AC1, AC1 Project Phantasma. Armored Core2 Armored Core2 Another age, AC2 Arena. Ac3 generation had a large number of installments. Then there was AC4 and AC For Answer. and then AC5 And AC5 Verdict day. if they where to continue this trend, there will be an armored core 6 Fires of Raven... or something like that.
Personally I don't mind if Armored Core was a little more multiplayer focused, just make it Coop oriented instead. AC 6's combat system feels very polished and fun but after 4 playthroughs for different endings I had this lingering feeling that it would be really cool if I could go through elaborate dungeons and MMO-style HUGE raid bosses with a couple friends with THIS combat system. Been playing Darktide and Space Marine 2 a lot lately and I feel like having something like that but with huge and clunky but very mobile mechs like in AC 6 would be beyond amazing.
What I would like really(though wouldn't happen more then likely) is an AC7 where they kind of do a 4th Gen with the movement where you move fast as hell and can very easily go airborne but with some of the idea from AC6, oh and the more pre-5th gen style music too.
Whatever they do i hope they bring back the free flow velocity and movement from the previous games. 6 movement suffers from its free rotstions cam and hard lock mode that puts u on rails.
Just bring back the customization of Gen3 (shoulder expansions, inside parts, hangar slots, the whole shebang) and the tuning system of Gen4 and I'll be content. Also yes, I want to fight in space in the next AC game and even fight those giant organic enemies (much like the older games). I also want future ACs being larger than their previous counterparts, like them being the size of the LCs and HCs used by the PCA. I just wanna be in an even bigger AC.
I actually like ACs being as small as they are. The idea of this compact, hideously mobile ball of guns and thrusters with legs that are there only to either kick things or kick _off_ of things is what got me into the franchise in the first place.
@griffinfaulkner3514 Both small and large ACs can work, honestly. The smaller ones could be useful in more cramped environments while the larger ones could be more useful for mounting heavier and better armor and weaponry.
@enricopaolocoronado2511 We already somewhat have that dichotomy with the gen 5 ACs being specifically built for urban combat. Besides the whole 'angry ball of guns and thrusters' thing I mentioned, standard ACs also ride right on the edge of believability size-wise, any larger and it just doesn't make sense for them to be able to move like they do. At least with the PCA craft their mobility is clearly limited compared to an AC, especially when it comes to reactive maneuvers. Only the Ekdromoi come anywhere close to the sheer _violence_ of a lightweight AC going evasive, and they have to wind up and kick off the ground for that sort of thing.
@@griffinfaulkner3514 Fair point. Still, I'd like for a future AC game (or fangame, given how talented and passionate the AC community is) to give us the ability to have varied sizes for ACs, from 5 meter tall ACs like in V and Verdict to (I suppose) 15 meter tall ACs like what we saw in 4 and For Answer. It's really just a matter of variety for me.
man, I just want FROMSOFTWARE bring back extension part, tuning part and more part! oh, and they need to remove the acs mechanic. and bring back op Karasawa. and bring back cg intro in their next armored core game
NGL. This sounds boring, and nothing like any of the previous games. I truly believe the limited scale of these games and their level based gameplay are likely what keeps it fun to play. This whole fan fiction pictures AC becoming another "we can do it all" sandbox.
My point was to think of something that is completely different from any of the games so far. Totally understand if you don't like the specific ideas I had here, but I was trying to look into how this series could evolve further after 27 years of it's existence. There's like 16 games in total now so staying stagnant and doing the same things over and over again is one of the worst things they could do imo.
@@upper_case_T Completely different, sounds like a new IP and the death of Armored Core. No one is asking for zero progress, but everything you suggested comes off to me as gimmicky and feature creep. Good series perfect what makes them good, they don't adopt new features to be in line with other games. i.e. Assassin's Creed. What part of AC6 was stagnant?
@@upper_case_T I disagree on that mentality. Nowadays what makes AC unique, is that it's like it's predecessors. You can have so many games with modern ideas that it just becomes one of many and so it becomes actually stale. You don't need to reinvent yourself for the modern to be fun. And it certainly should always stay level based.
Totally get what you mean, which is why Monster Hunter is still one of my favorite franchises even over a decade after I first played it. Like I've said in the video, I'm sure that most of these ideas won't ever be a part of this franchise, since From has always been more partial to the safer iterative approach of game design. But I still fully stand behind that all of my ideas in the first half of the video would perfectly fit into the AC universe, as they are simply an evolution of what was already in previous games (even if exaggerated to the extreme). We've fought weird organic creatures before, we've had missions set in space (even if only in the most recent game) and we've had the occasional break from partaking in corporate warfare. Will we ever see these ideas in an AC game? Probably not. But I simply like to think about the "What if?".
"What if space?" -- this becomes an entirely different game design and given how AC6 is mechanically far less sophisticated than 4 or 5 (there's a very good reason it says "based on the concept" on the steam page, rather than saying "the next installment") , I don't think they have the skills as a company to execute on this vision. From where they are now, this is the ultimate "wow cool robot" take that misses the entire point of AC. Peak "ideas guy" energy. FROM would need to fundamentally change as a company and so would their engine to execute on this.
Having a planet choosing option with a set amount of missions per planet and having it all come together might be cool asf I’d do without the 0 g stuff bcuz PvP. Fending off against wild life for one mission to help a corpo set up camp as a merc would be cool too. But I rlly think the game should stick with the mission select and replay stuff. I feel like fighting for a corpo would also be cool. The game needs expansion but not stray away from what makes ac ac
I personally just do not like aliens. Especially in a mech game, I want to see with how many crazy mech designs they can come up with. Past entries did have bio experiment creatures and I would accept it in that style, but it really should not be a focus at all for me. Grappling hook would really only make sense if it worked like gundam, where they are pulled through space, it would not be the most fun. While grappling hooks are fun in most games, AC is one of the games where the suspension of disbelief would be too high for that to work in a non jarring way. When it comes to environments, I will of course remind you that the Brutalistic feel on a dead planet is indeed the point. But multiple planets would of course also be fun. And you could see the jungles from gen 3 or mars from gen 2 with modern graphics, which would be interesting. So my immediate suggestion would be to have it play in our solar system. We have enough moons to have varying enviroments and any solid planet we could also get creative with.

@@austin0_bandit05insane damage output, could make for stun fast builds using pistols/shotguns etc. Or unique kites that use heavy or en heavy missiles, and have fast speed and strong instant damage with melee. Melee weapons have ranged charged attacks too so it would be pretty viable.
i think the main advantage that AC has over the souls genre is that it can branch out (at least for spin offs) because its setting is more flexible in that regard than dark souls or elden ring
like an AC RTS would be interesting or just remake Forever Winter but you're a scav AC or hell even an MT trying to build themselves up to tussle with the bigger mechs
or hell, a horde shooter could work, could even do a meta game thing like helldivers since AC5VD did it first all those years back
So basically what mechwarror does? There are original games for mech transport simulator nerds but also a pretty good battletech turn-based xcomlike.
I think Front Mission also tried to branch out at some point but Evolved just killed the series or something, but there are first games' remasters on steam which is nice.
@simplythecat4068 I guess you can put it like that, though battletech had the initial advantage of being a tabletop wargame so it could be adapted to a vehicle sim, turn based strategy game, and an RTS game (and also 2 arena shooters for some reason)
And I do understand the risk given by what happened to front mission but I feel like fromsoft has the ability to pull off something, though maybe not in the strategy genre since it's a huge jump from 3rd person action to top down management
Also I'm pretty sure rts isn't particularly popular in Japan (they're missing out)

Hideo Kojima was not a director on either ZoE game. He was a producer. He dealt with hiring staff and acquiring funding.
@ArchOfficial My bad I misremembered. I will edit the comment to reflect this.
Hardcore mode to is good
Just like gen v hardmode that using sniper Cannon cost a lot
ZoE mentioned 💥💥💥💥💥🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
They've done Unicorn Gundam before, so having some the setting in space it's not out of reach. Which means you might ended having two AC for two different environments, that means you need to constantly updating two AC instead of one. One element I wish to add would be the factions, rather than just mega corporations fighting each other I prefer if they add different organization from a cult to royal families or even the local enforcement government themselves.
Instead of specialized limbs, I think something more similar to Balteus's Ring would make sense, an attachable rig, like in SW for fighters that didn't have a hyperdrive
That’s a cool gimmick.
Like vanguard over boosters?
@@flamestoyershadowkillDammit I instinctively played the [V.O.B. DEPLETED. PURGING.] notification in my head. Sidenote, that's an area AC6 kinda disappointed in, the AC's equivalent of Bitchin' Betty sucks ass.
If we take a look at past entries in the AC series, I think it’s most likely that the next AC game will either take place in the same universe, after the events of AC6, or it could simply be a huge arena expansion.
personally I'd love to see a setup similar to AC3/SL with the style of missions:
while the game did have a story plot to follow. many missions gave a feel of "just another day on the job" rather than missions constantly "pushing the plot forwards" AC6 never really felt like "another day on the job" even though you were still picking up jobs to do. everything felt relevant to the main plot, and while thats fine. I found that it hampers replayability because you will always be replaying a specific plot point, rather than just picking up another mission. (not sure if that makes sense or not)
another thing I'd love to see expanded is the cohort system. hiring other AC's or MT's to help you on missions, maybe have something like Mechwarrior 5 Mercs where you actually have a team and you can modify loadouts, hire new pilots?
lastly I'd LOVE to see an item roster like AC3 - LR and more part "coherency". in the older games. you can throw ANYTHING together and the mech would coherent for the most part. in AC6, the Ephemera parts for example ONLY look coherent with Ephemera parts... you cant mix and match without the mech looking...
If that's what you want, go play Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. It's made by Fromsoft.
I really wouldn't mind a Formula Front spinoff between main releases >.>
I think open world could be fun in the Armored Core universe, too - but I do think it would feel wrong in a main title.
Maybe we can use transport vehicle in free conflic zone n eject our AC when outgunned
Hmm, special backpacks to increase mobility on the space with a feature to use as a kind of "re-entry" self-deployed system could be really cool.
You can have a basic ac with that and then add more dedicated parts, even a transforming ac between a mobility form and a regular form (like many mobile suits from Zeta Gundam)
I will LOVE to have internal parts, like extra missile slots on the forearms and the shoulder parts, like beacons against missiles and so.
You killed the original Raven and his operator stated that they would "watch this one, See where they go on a Ravens wings"
Imagine a new game dedicated to the revival of Branch where you can shape the way YOU want to make things.
And they had parts like Missile redirection, Radar jamming, FCS disable, extra weapons, rocket sync systems ( fires extra missiles with your missile locks, etc )
With inner parts, they had mines, portable turrets, rockets, jammers, and other traps.
Pulled out the fancy coat for this one
had to do it for this one
Fun Fact: There were old phone games in Japan that were a part of the Armored Core series, but nobody really knows much about them at all.
Having the player be a mercenary or pirate in their own faction with other factions trying to eliminate them would be interesting.
I loved armored core 6. it was my first armored core game and my first mech game ever.
I loved every second of it - I loved the customizability options for your mech, I loved the diverging story paths A LOT and the gameplay felt sublime.
my only problem with the game is, that it's too short. I could have done with double or even three times the offline arena matches and I would have liked an even longer single player.
but if my only problem with a game is "i didn't get enough" - I'd categorize that as a phenomenal game.
sounds very ambitious and unique but maybe better suited for a spinoff rather than a sequel but still very interesting though🤔
After all the Souls entries, AC6 feels like it is the game Fromsoft develop as the "Finally, we can now make a game we really want!"
I think stumbling across a player or being invaded should be a highly low chance as each player is a 'legendary' merc, so maybe some graphical or sound alerts, or an intro cutscene showing both players how nice the others mech looks, maybe editable cutscenes - though not a huge detail, but something like a camera mode firing of a laser gun in one of several poses.
the seventh game should be a spiritual reboot of oldgen
My GOAT is back with an armored core vid
I wish to have a Balam Route or a PCA Route sadly
Giant bug that shot laser gone for long in ac series, they need comeback

My good man, you should know that it'll be a good while before Armored Core 7 comes out.
Why?
Because we're not even done with getting Armored Core 6 games yet. XD
I desperately hope I'll see Armored Core 7 and 8 within my own lifetime.
You'd have short/small missions: 5-20 minutes
Go wipe out that AC
Attack that convoy
Set fire to that city.
Then you'd have larger missions/medium where you transition from one area to another: 30-50 minutes
Intercept that land fortress
Capture and recover data
Carry out a general assault.
And finally have massive missions that are critical story missions/Large, that have an objective and its up to the player how they want to achieve it: 1-3 hours.
Defeat the invasion
Deploy tactical nuclear weapons for assassination target
Destroy the Arks.
"Armored core video"
Me: eh, let's look at it-
*furi music starts playing*
Me: now I'm broke and in love... investing time
Personally wouldn’t mind if there was an open zone type mode aside from the main story missions where AC can lean more into survival/resource management. Go explore at your own expense with less restock opportunities for cool and interesting parts etc
Basically an extraction mode you can do between the more traditional menu-selected missions.
5:23 It would be a good fit for AC. So much so previous games already had missions where you would destroy buglike creatures.
Before the start of each battle, you have to choose 1 of the 3 different types of the Awaken System:
Assault, Revival, and Mobility
Assault: (you and your ally will be covered in gold aura) gain attack power bonus.
The revived unit will have 1/4 of its total HP and be missing certain parts
(ie: arm, leg, head).
Why I enjoy writing walls of text about random shit will always confuse me.
this is crazy, can’t believe they made 7 armored cores.
i swear there were like 2 dozen in the game
Oh hey that’s my steel maid Ortus you used. It’s so weird to see TH-camrs pilot your AC creations.
I want 1400kmh speeds and VERY accurate gun play
That was 4.5.
yeah, it’ll probably be Armored Core 6 Answer
T was cooking with this video
Basically the main thing i would want is physical weapons like a mace made of metal so we could have a constant melee weapons to combo with or block or deflect bullets or something. Tho i dunno how it would work in the setting. Also the space combat is like the best idea in my opinion for the seires, and also adding more leg types is a must. Also for my last thought I just think like a practical accessory slot could be cool not just for looks but like if u could have a set of rocket thrusters on your legs or a set of night vision type goggles that are a zoom in/scope for guns or a scorpion tail that you could stab or bind enemies up with or an extra set of arms ect
yo T you should S rank the missions in view submitted creations
I can see the next armored core game be a continuation to the Alea Lacta Est ending of AC6
Armored core with low gravity or sections with total 3d movement would b extremely cool.
Lets hope they add back extensions, hover legs, weapon arms, a berrer debt system, and even more parts like they did in silent line
One of the Ts of all time
(Current) No Man's Sky with Mechs sounds pretty cool.
We need armored core 7
I hope they move away from being completely unable to move when you get staggered. Maybe just make it so your FCS & energy gets reset & other stats like recoil control get temporarily reduced but still be able to move right after the stun animation. IMO AC6 was a little too heavy handed with the importance of staggering and they could improve the system a bit.
Mmh, this was never a huge issue for me but I can definitely see where you are coming from. I guess it's kinda similar to how it was annoying to have to stand still in the early Dark Souls games while sipping your Estus lol
Say a drabble hook would be useless when the best Ace in the gundam universe used a grapple. [Gouf]
8:16 Ace Combat X mentioned...?
An all out war on different planets and more enemies on the screen
The series could go full anime but never does
Honestly, I'd rather AC not go out into space.
I hope we get more complex and responsive movement more similar to verdict day
I want a pvp mode that you and your squad fight against other players with MT squads that you or they can command to complete mission objectives.
My biggest hope…. Update the netcode. This game NEEDS it.
Now I'm imagining a subnautica like world with mechs
Here's to hoping that Subnautica 2 will be an absolute banger (that maybe has an even better PRAWN Suit)
I want to see optional parts return, a camera that is fixed to your ac's orientation(or at least the option to change to that), and the return of getting mission ranks the 1st time you play them instead of only getting ranks when you replay them. That last one was really stupid, why did they do it like that?
FURI OST spotted: Instant like.
There better be a armor core 6 expansion like embers of Rubicon or something
i love how people wont understand how armored naming scheme works
a fromsoft game where you play as a T'au(from 40K) would be interesting, isn't unkown from working with alredy existing franchises, like gundam, i don't think it will happen, but interesting sure would be
I personally don't really like the idea of Aliens or Tyranids in Armored Core.
I would also love like Horse-like Quad legs, to make like a robotic centaur or like the ability to make a giant robotic dog with rocket launchers, Or a mech with 6 arms
My controversial idea is that the next game should be or have an open world type of hub, with 16 to 32 player servers where pvp is active at all times. You could also have garages around the map as a checkpoint system
Elden Ring was damaged by it's open world since it made the game feel empty and kind of wound up diluting the souls formula, Armored Core could benefit from a sort of large, empty exploration based game with its vast means of fast traversal of exploring megastructures and scavenging for parts as other Contractors try to steal your stuff in a giant wasteland sounds exactly like my type of game.
I really like you point about how a "desolate" open world could be beneficial in the AC universe. Goes well with some of the community fanfic I talked about towards the end of the video. (also a horse quad would be absolutely hilarous I'd love to see that)
And I guess that I didn't really communicate this well, but I was using the tyranids as more of an example to just say that I would like more enemy variety that isn't just robot 1, 2 and 3.
Before 7 there should be some 6 spinoffs
I agree with you that it could get the Elden Ring treatment, however the way I see it we will more so get a Armored core 6.5,
because From has in the past almost always released at least 2 games in each 'generation' of armored core games, the second of which improving upon and continuing the story of the first.
Thanks, Now I want to go play Elite Dangerous
there probably wont be an Armored Core 7 at least not so soon.
Yeah I had the same feeling. Forcing people to do multiplayer might not be the best idea, but I'll be happy if we at least get an option for it
@@upper_case_T maybe like a separate multiplayer campaign similar to what SM 2 does or optional coop like in DS
Armored Core 7 : Space Unknown
What I would like really(though wouldn't happen more then likely) is an AC7 where they kind of do a 4th Gen with the movement where you move fast as hell and can very easily go airborne but with some of the idea from AC6, oh and the more pre-5th gen style music too.
As long theres an epic fight with the infamous number 9 iam all in!
If slime and aimen from the yard had a child
bring back trigger booster controls and no hard lock on and i'll die a happy(er) man
Whatever they do i hope they bring back the free flow velocity and movement from the previous games. 6 movement suffers from its free rotstions cam and hard lock mode that puts u on rails.
I think either armored core 7 is in a same timeline as 6 or like ac3 a alternate timeline
They could really pull out a metal gear rising with armored core
Fromsoft: Hahahahahahahahaha
Here’s Chromehounds 2 instead
I just want them to invest more in to AC build
Like be able to use two defrint arms
We aren't gonna get armored core7 till we get armored core 6-2
Dude George RR wrote the background lore for eldin ring, I don't think working with Kojima is far fetched.
That is true, I completely forgot about that lmao
@upper_case_T great vid tho keep it up
Just bring back the customization of Gen3 (shoulder expansions, inside parts, hangar slots, the whole shebang) and the tuning system of Gen4 and I'll be content.
Bro I WANT A BIGGER FAN BASE FOR AC!! This was my first foray into mechs and first game I completed all the way through in YEARS! I’m hooooked
Legs are just for show, the higher-ups wouldnt understand it.
They do need co op 1000%
man, I just want FROMSOFTWARE bring back extension part, tuning part and more part! oh, and they need to remove the acs mechanic. and bring back op Karasawa. and bring back cg intro in their next armored core game
@@upper_case_T We did technically also have space missions in earlier games. Because in some titles you fight on Space Stations
Plus the ai being a good guy this time would be nuts
multiverse armored core
Can wait for gundam armour core char revenge 2.0🎉
I need an armored core seven as much as I need a bloodborne pc port and a sekiro successor.
We have enough moons to have varying enviroments and any solid planet we could also get creative with.
idk i kinda want a mega man platformer where the megaman is an AC.
