A team of special force ops, led by a tough but fair soldier, Major "Dutch" Schaefer, are ordered to assist CIA man, Colonel Al Dillon, on a rescue mission for potential survivors of a Helicopter downed over remote South American jungle. Not long after they land, Dutch and his team discover that they have been sent in under false pretenses. This deception turns out to be the least of their worries though, when they find themselves being methodically hunted by something not of this world.

No sweat. We have this on the Blu Ray and both the video quality and the immersive 5.1 surround sound is top notch.
A huge part of what makes this film epic is the music!
Indeed. Honestly like no other film, the music completely drives the movie. From start to finish, the music makes the film what it is. Truly brilliant score from Alan Silvestri
The direction is much better also. The director for Predator 2 sucked. McTiernan declined the offer to direct P2.
They don't make movies like this any more, so glad I was an 80s kid!
Nah they don’t and I’m glad I’m a 90s
You must be 60 now
@@Imrichpoor nope 47 still young enough to know what is crap and almost all movies nowadays are crap wokist entertainment..
🤦🏾♂️ they don’t!!! We got to back this movie to get manly vibes with all the gay scenes in every movie now 🤦🏾♂️
@@Reese8531 stop the fight scenes through the whole movie were empty until the end with Arnold
The best Predator film by a lifetime in my opinion. No other Predator movie made since has come close to this. Shows how special the 80's were.
Part 2 was really good too. But to each it’s own
1 and 2 are equal which is really a testament to 2 since we know what is coming.
@@JoshGibson-fb7mfPredator 2 was certainly the best sequel of them all, but the original Predator is by far the best. Great cast, great simple story with good pacing, and truly iconic. Like a sore peter, it's tough to beat it.
Predator 1 is a sci-fi horror subversion of the military action hero genre. Predator 2 is a sci-fi horror subversion of the police action hero genre. It’s not as good, but it’s still pretty great. Especially compared to recent times….
I agree but Predators (2010) was actually REALLY good imo... it's a close second in my book
RIP Carl Weathers!!
10 y/o me, who watched this a dozen times on VHS, would lose his little mind over this quality. 🙏

The special effects were good in this.
if u were 10 back then, that makes u ...according to my calculations... exactly 117 years old, nice that u can still type at that age
@@flisko123 That is an incredibly rude and disrespectful assumption. How dare you.

This movie really nailed the oppressive heat and humidity of the Central American jungle. I know the film was shot on location, but a lot of movies set in the jungle fail in convincing you the actors are in a jungle. In Predator, they're constantly sweating and even dripping with sweat in some scenes. Their clothes are soaked. It's small details like this that really help immerse the audience. Predator 2 succeeded in this too. You can tell LA in that movie is just hot and DIRTY. P2 is so underrated but that's a different post.
they were soaked with real swear lol
This was filmed near Puerto Vallarta, MX. You can do film tours if you ever go and it's pretty cool
the acting in his face when he saw the remains of Hawkins was incredible.
Arnolds face when he hears poncho says "I can't tell"? I always get shivers of creepiness. Hearing that, that would shake your core in those seconds, for me anyway
That scream Hawkins let out...
bloodchilling
Is it
This scene scared the hell out of me when I was a kid.
Yeah, real children's film, this one 😑
@@engasalMost people here saw it as a kid.
What an absolutely superb movie, even today.
Fun Fact: Hawkins - Shane Black, wrote, Lethal Weapon, one of the first writers to receive a million dollar check for a script.
Yep, Shane is Goated 🐐 then he went on to make $4 for his script The Long Kiss Goodnight... great film!
@@shanenolan085lol I had to fact check that and, to my disappointment, he made $4 million for that script. I thought they literally paid him $4 which would have been just as Goat.
@Conan_the_Based glad you fact checked cause I know my stuff lol 💯💯 Long Kiss was a great film but bombed, but later became a cult film 🎥 🎞
@@shanenolan085 This film bombed at the box office as well. It lost out to Alvin and the friggin’ chipmunks.
@trevorjames4619 this film had a budget of $15 million and made $98 million BOX OFFICE... I already know what you're going to say and why you said it, you're going to say they also had advertising and marketing costs... however, I read an article with John McTiernan saying the home video release helped push it more into a profit 💯💯💯
What an amazing movie, I'm so fortunate to have seen this in the theater.
how old are u?? 68 ??
Predator 2 was the first movie I saw in a multiplex, and a worthy sequel like T2 was, but Predator 1 is simply perfect.
Dude I would've crap my pants if I saw this in the theater.
Watched it with my Dad. I was 26 at the time. The last time we ever watched a movie in a theater together. He is still alive now all of these years later.
When the toughest man in your outfit, Billie is scared, this will not end well for you...
I just graduated highschool when this came out in 87!! Awesome!!!
"Theres somethin out there major........and it aint no man....."" This movie got me so hyped up as a kid. They dont make em like they used to.
Conan, blade runner, robocop, depredador, batman, duro de matar, rambo etc etc no cabe duda q en los 80 hacían buenas películas
I'm not gay but man the guy playing Hawkins was really goodlooking. Maybe more goodlooking without glasses but also goodlooking with glasses.
That was Shane Black, who was there as a script rewriter the producers wanted on set. When Shane refused to assist in the rewrites, they killed him off quickly. Shane was the creator of Lethal Weapon and wanted it to end after the second installment with Riggs being killed on the ship. That would have been the better move than the money-grubbing number three and four which was trash that they put out
@@user-ov9vt4wx3o Nice info!
ummm, if you're gonna have the gumption to actually type that out, I'd reassess that statement
As awesome as having classic movies in 4K is, certain effects like the Predator's transparency at 1:00 worked better on older screens with lower visual quality.
It was at this point the film went from a 6/10 action movie to a 10/10 sci-fi horror flick
- “I want Hawkins’ body found.”
I'd, if squad leader, have thought something very very weird was up. Basic math logic of the situation was just beyond anything before, from the looks on their faces.
Classic the quality is amazing as always.
This movie is like half war and horror at the same time, epic classic well done to the cast,r.i.p Carl weather's
Saw this at the Cinedomes in Orange, California when it came out in '87 with my buddy Matt Yates. Loved it! The cloaking effects were new then.
Great movie. RIP Carl Weathers, you will be missed.
As a kid we’d just refer to him as “the guy with the glasses on” 😂
sure, that's what I can concur because I'm in the club (age 8 or 9 and seeing this on TV my first time). I'm just now getting past the dorky looking things and seeing how tough the guy really was. and he was a rather well balanced soldier, a thing I can admire, he was humorous and perhaps the most pacifist of the group, while not being any kind of weigh down in a mission.
Awesome.
A stellar job with this movie and how everything goes while they’re being stalked by the Predator in the forest.
Very well done action and horror put in this film
This flick comes together in every single aspect..
Way ahead of its time!
This is so crispy!
You like it?
@@moviesandpopcorn2958 Too crispy. These types of films were never indented to be so high resolution and clean, It takes away the grittiness and dark tone feeling. BUT, You have to give credit to the team behind this movie, Despite being 1980s and being enhanced, It still looks fantastic! I've seen every clip enhanced and those guys really did a great job on the effects and equipment.. And the film still holds up today. But it's still better to watch less clean lol
Its like watching it for the first time.
The music is just amazing, the movie is great but the music takes this to whole new level.
Fun fact: the names were VERY different in the original script Dutch was Alan Matheny, Dillon was John Dixon, Blain was Williams, Mac was Blain, Billy was Miguel while Poncho is just referred to by his surname Ramirez and Hawkins was Dillon. There were also 2 additional members of Matheny’s named Murphy and Hawkins who are killed during the attack on the rebel camp

It's a racket. If someone builds a house in 1986, they don't keep getting paid for it every time it sells to a new owner. Same with cars.

1:00 Scared me when i was a kid 😮😮😮
When I first saw this as a teen, I thought that the predator was just trying to learn man's culture, and after seeing how Dutch's team battled the guerrillas it figured this was how human's played. So when Hawkins runs after Anna, the predator gets in on the "fun"...
Exactly 😊.
1:14 the one shot of JCVD as the predator right here.

Guy with glasses never stood a chance
Super, super, super

Good, evening, very good
Unimaginable ......in an instant with lightning precision Hawkins was de-veined making his body nearly impossible find the trail will go cold if there's nothing to bleed
By Far 30 Years Ahead Of Time.
I wonder how much the Predator can press? (Bench press?) Lol
Poor Hawkins... Nice trim messed up his mind...
He had to be the first to go : wearing glasses, the "gentlest" of the team .....although he still had no opportunity to engage the predator : where is the "sport" . Similar with Blaine : what chance did he have ? (yet much later on Dutch gets hit and is merely ...knocked off his feet - Plot Armour ?? ) Have loved this film since '87
That shit was crazy when he was Ike I can’t tell if he had found his friend. I was like dang when I first heard that
I always wondered what body part was that ?
Depredador in english Predator is a Amazing muscle movie 👍👍
Should’ve make a 5th movie with Dutch again. Maybe alien vs predator like the video neo geo!
Also the late sonny landham r.i.p (Billy)
The hunters become the hunted 😢
This transfer is amazing. Is this on disc?
Not yet
"Ach du Lieber!"
Wow
Are you okay sayang❤😂
I believe they got rid of Shane Black quickly when they found that he would not help with script rewriting
to be fair, he was hired only as an actor in the movie, as he was already busy working on the script for the then blockbuster "Lethal Weapon" right around the same time.
Abia necesidad de ella escaparce
Почему, нет. У нас?
Its sucks that they have yet to bring back any original characters to the franchise. The could have retconned dillon or billy in the predators film
omg why, no. Stop with these dumb ideas.
Arnold was wrong to have this guy go after the woman because he was carrying the communication equipment in his backpack and it could damage it. and also all the others ran at the same time and Poncho arrived first and it took a cap for the others to arrive.

0:05, I assume Billy sees Predator movement.
nah, he only kind of feels it's presence..
So what r they looking at?

There is but not in english
1:00 I'm sorry but those trumpets are the most Alan Silvestri thing ever and to me just sound like Who Framed Roger Rabbit today 😬
This movies showed how much having good writers and the right actors can make a concept work. In lesser hands, this would have been every bit the sorry asssed cheesefest all of it's sequels were.
1:02 FATALITY!!!
Should have left that alien run.
Similar soundtrack to Jurassic Park
Till this day I don’t know what was left of Hawkins? I looks like a pile of intestines or a heart don’t know. Does anyone know what those organs are ?
This is what Hawkins got for going on to make "the predator" uughhh lol ❤❤❤ ✝️ 👍 xxxxx
The woman was the responsible for make them separate. In such a deadly situation like that spreading was their big mistake.

Hawking's death always bothered me the most.
Why?
@@SadAndVengeful he was a cool dude. Someone who had your back and had brains.

@@SadAndVengeful they were all cool dudes. I read also that Predator is actually based off a true story where Black Ops type dudes had to check out a downed aircraft in the jungle and were confronted with something terrifying.
@@CircleofShit Supposedly they found statues in Mexico and I think other parts of the world that looked exactly like the Predator and the Xenomorph Alien except the xenomorph didn't have a tail just a humanoid type of body with the same elongated skull.
QEPD carl weathers 🇦🇷
How did the predator actually kill Hawkins here? I’ve slow motioned this a million times and it seems like he just gutted him with his blades on his hand. Can’t tell if he got hit in the neck first or 2 blades were used
I think it's assumed he ripped his guts open with the mess that Poncho discovers.
Yeah always wondered what was the body parts they found? Guts ? Brain or heart ? But I guess guts makes more sense since when we see his corpse on the tree it looks like his abdomen is cut open, gutted.
Think he was slashed through the neck first killing him. Then he was dragged off up the tree and the abdomen sliced open gutting him. The guts falling to the jungle floor. It’s a great death scene this. Imagine watching it for the first time.
That digital noise reduction 😭
where?
MMGA- Make Movies Great Again! They should make a direct sequel to the original in which a modern team is assembled 35 years later to capture the Predator. The new crew should be comprised of actors like Alan Richtson, Jason Mamoa, Michael B Jordan & Chris Hemsworth. I would love to see an opening scene that features Dutch (Arnold) making an appearance to brief the team. The sequel would ignore all of the other crappy sequels. In this universe, Dutch would be the only living human to have ever seen the alien. He would give a "Rippley" style briefing on the alien to the over confident group of operators. This would be movie magic and it would definitely make money, unlike the crap Hollyweird is producing today!
unless the movie acknowledges the events in "Predator 2", it'll suck
And 30 years later he killed Predator franchise.
