Fellow PT here. Sciatica is a symptom of SI joint dysfunction 9 out of 10 times. You must address the movement and alignment issues of the pelvic ring. Lumbar spine is not the cause most of the time.
@JamesJones-gj1ii i have the L4L5 bulge but have read that lots of people have it and don't even know it. The orthopedic doctor I went to, his very first treatment path was pelvic floor PT and it definitely helped. I think my pain might be a combination of both pelvic and L4L5 though. I say thay based on results of various exercises and stretches I've had success with over the years.
I know it’s a big change on the channel becoming a larger team, but it is a GOOD THING. You guys have released video after video that’s exactly something I needed to learn, and an issue I deal with personally
I do stretches, but what finally got me relief was two 2 hour massage sessions, & 5-15 minutes there after. A friend went to a chiropractor & had two sessions with a TENS unit. Mine was caused by walking concert ramps 7 days a week, & hers was from sitting at a desk 12 hours a day.
I love these guys❤❤❤❤ free advice is priceless no one does anything for free I love the advice and the help I got thru 2 hip replacements/// just the care and support for Bob impresses all of us. We all ❤❤❤❤ you all😊
Good to Still see Bob! its been a while since ve watched bob & brad.what brings me back is im currently sleeping on the hard ground & left my Apartment as i am extremely bullish on Gold & Silver and i am diverting more savings into gold & silver. its been more rough sleeping on concrete then i originally thought. low back hurts a bit, my hips are sore from grinding into the hard ground while im sleeping. Please keep Bob on the Show!!!!!
I've had bad sciatica since April and with the help of my excellent McKenzie method trained physiotherapist, it's almost gone. It's great seeing your videos and getting reminders to stretch out the painful side. I love your videos. They are my first place to check when my husband or myself get injured. You're our first aid kit in video form 😅
Hi Bob!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I came here because I love Bob and Brad! Mike-kudos to you for all you know! I am so happy to see Bob! OMG! God bless you guys! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🎼🍀
Hi guys, am 70 years femail, used to have sciatica but been free for 2 years as I followed what you said I changed my habits put thing at waist hight no bending down just squat down it really has worked changing how I do things so thankyou so much.
If you do the therapy that your Physical therapist works with you and shows you it really can cause it to leave. I have had Sciatica at LEVEL 10! I did not think the therapy would help, that I would need a shot or surgery. However I stuck with the physical therapy and it took about a month I think. The physical therapist said keep stretching and working out! I don't think there is any stretch on the Internet that will just cure the pain when you are at level 10! The only thing that will slow it down is medication and or ice! I had it as bad as anyone experiencing excruciating pain! The therapy worked or I would have started getting shots and or surgery! That is how bad it was!
The book pain-free living by lee Albert has helped my Sciatica so much! Will add the doorframe exercise to y repertoire.I am worried it could cause my frozen shoulder to flare up because you said not to raise my arms to high.
When it dehydrates it becomes brittle then herniates outside the sac, the dehydrated disc becomes sharp shards and stab into the spinal cord or the sciatic nerve(s)… absolutely excruciating and debilitating pain, local and shooting down the leg to the toes
Given the demonstration that Brad gave of the bulging disc, I can’t comprehend how doing the second exercise wouldn’t make things worse by pinching the disc more, unless the bulge was facing the stomach side of the spine. 🤷♀️ I just woke up over a week ago with pain in my hip & thigh. It then went to my knee and numbness in a couple of my toes. My leg muscles have been extremely tight, particularly the side with the pain. I’ve seen my chiropractor twice last week, have been doing the number 4 stretch and yoga child pose along with using the foam roller. That thing is soooo painful to use! The pain comes and goes depending on how active I am. There is so much conflicting information out there.
How does one get to know that sciatica has cured ? I got sciatica 2 yrs back & I'm now back to doing all sport activities that I used to do pre-sciatica , albeit with 50% efficiency.
Sucking your gut works indicating small exercise pulling gut in helped me/ quitting sugar for 6 months helped drop unnecessary lbs/ now doing gut exercise really helped every corner/ this worked for me/ thou it’s not for everyone/ if I help one person get there feeling better is my only motive 😊
I used to pull up her and it knocked me out. I ended up in the hospital for two days so that’s not good suggestion for people to do but thank you for showing us something else to do for sciatica cause I have a on both sides and it hurts like have a great day thank you.
The only thing I would add is lose weight and move more. I'm not sure what exactly is going on with my back but I do know this. Inactivity and weight gain do not help; (Duh!) We are coming up of a "challenging" time of year.
So the only time I’m in extreme pain is when I stand for say at least an hour. No pain in my back just my hips and running down my legs. Mostly my left leg but my right every once in a while. No pain when i sit or lay down. I am an artist and I sit a lot which started this about 5 years ago. I went to physical therapy for a year, I have done the exercises you suggest and no healing. Im thinking I should see a back doctor
i got most pain like on hip calve maybe even knee i dont get it. is is sciatica? not much pain on back or even pain free some days but also similar with hip calve its also not every single day but its those episodes continues long time then take off and hits again...

@@cathi7610 just a term describing the complex between hips , sacrum and pelvic floor musculature.
I know my core is weak. What core strengthening exercises do you recommend? TIA @itzel1735

Demo was superb! ❤Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
Just left my family doctor's, was reviewing xrays for my fracture, then I hurried straight over here to Bob and Brad's for rehab exercises.

We love you Bob❤❤❤
Thank you. I get sciatica, I will try these.
For me it was the QL. Did all sorts of stuff, got better after a PT did aggressive massage on QL.
I've been taught that the jelly donut analogy was for herniated discs....a bulging disc would just compare to the bread part of the donut bulging out.
I sleep in a recliner and no long suffer with sciatica like I used to.
You 2 Guys are great...My Sciatica is Somewhat getting better...But WORKING in a Rough Environment...It's Difficult..😪😪

Do you ever app approve of chiropractic care to reduce the pressure on the discs and nerves?

we do not recommend you continuing anything that causes new pain or more pain.

Do you think using one of those Teeter boards would help to relieve that pressure on the discs?

No. It doesn't. I had to have a disc decompression and a cleaning out of the disc.
Your individual case experience...not everyone's scenario.
