my personal headcanon regarding the continuity of this alternate canon is that Vanessa did in fact manage to free Moonjumper from the horizon-though doing so caused his form to be twisted and destabilized into what would eventually become the Badge Salesman-but in the process both exacerbated her burgeoning mental instability and caused her to lose all but the faintest subconscious recollections of her "imaginary" friend, leaving enough to recall that she *had* this friend once, but practically nothing else besides. Maybe she began fantasizing life as a fairy tale princess rather than imaginary adventures as some kind of coping mechanism. maybe she ended up obsessing over the Prince due to him sharing some inherent qualities with her lost friend. maybe I'm completely wrong about everything and the Moonjumper remains trapped and eternally bound to the immortal shade of a wretched queen who's descent into insanity was purely the result of her misguided mother's attempts to prepare her for a throne and responsibility she never wanted. I don't know for sure, but I'd like to imagine what I believe to be the best-case scenario being the most accurate one.

Moonjumper was a scrapped character from the main game, intended to show up during Subcon Forest. His main shtick was that he was stuck in the horizon, and would repeatedly convince Hat Kid to join him up there.
