In the toybox there's a picture that Hat Kid drew of her and what looks to be her parents, as well as another person her size with blonde hair that looks crossed out. It might be possible that Mustache Girl is her sister! I'm curios as well if the blocks on the drawing saying "GFB" mean anything!

The dark poem about souls and dead suns is actually part of a bored Gears for Breakfast employee's ARG. There's an entire TH-cam channel with creepy videos full of ciphers that expand on that short segment you find in the closet. As far as I know it's officially non-canon but it was still fun to read.
If you're really curious, you can try and make a simple 3D game in Unity. Making something good is hard work, but making something simple just to get an idea of how it's done is much easier than you might think. You'll see that, while much more lax than rules of the real world, a game engine still has restrictions. And sometimes, much like with stage decoration or practical FX in movies, you have to hide things in clever ways to get the desired effects.
To try and simplify some of what is being said (though I may not be perfectly accurate) The final boss room: The werid thing outside was just a placeholder for when they were testing the game, and they simply didn't bother to remove it (as you can't see it anyways). The transition effect in the forest- they hide the textures of the enviroment as they load in the minature area you speak to Snatcher. But since the objects are only invisible- they can still be touched- the area is brought up really high in the air as the cutscene plays, so once you're able to walk around the small circle you won't hit any trees or anything. Finally, once you are done in there, they just drop it back down and load everything else in. Lastly, I too didn't understand much about the train, but the whole "specific angle" thing I got- two separate pieces of hardware control where you're looking at on screen (the GPU), and what to load in to visibility (the CPU). When you look at those awkward angles, the background disapoears as one thinks you aren't looking, and thus doesn't load the enviroment, and the other thinks you are- thus looking at the unloaded area.
You basically got the gist of it in the last paragraph. GPU is told what to do by the CPU. If you try to draw something that can't possibly be on the screen, it will get eventually discarded, but you are still wasting valuable GPU time preparing everything to be drawn. So a series of techniques generally referred to as culling are used to try and guess what need not be drawn at all. Specifically, frustum culling is responsible for discarding any geometry that cannot possibly fall in the field of view of the camera. Ideally, any method you use to hijack a camera in the game will affect both the actual orientation of the camera, and the position of the frustum used for culling. However, in the train scene, devs used a trick to move the terrain, which resulted in position of the frustum according to CPU and actual position of the camera according to GPU to disagree when the camera was in free mode.

But only half of that is correct. bow kid never "time travels" Timmy does! Timmy was the co op[ character but bow kid had to barge in! there is a deleted image in the files that have a picture of hat kid and adult hat kid with what i believe timmy holding a sword. SOO Hat Kid and timmy are the 2 time travelers. the rest i didnt know. Btw while you had the dev on phone you should have asked him Hat Kids Real Name!!

You know shesez, thank you for not cursing on your channel like lot of others do. This is one of the channels that I can watch with my 8 year old sister and she loves watching you explore these areas in game. She wanted to request you to boundary break Super Smash Brothers for Wii U one of her favorite Wii U games!

Grayson Wells Ok, I couldn't find a Boundary Break episode of Smash Bros. for Wii U, but I did find something similar on this channel. I do not know if the situation has changed since then.) is that the tools that were available at the time could only manipulate the camera in the game up to a point. Wanna know why there's so much room for the mafia boss? There exists a bit of prototype footage where he will be seen running towards hat kid in a 3D perspective, the boss was changed during the alpha/beta though, same with the boss in mafia town, it originally was more of a combat than beating up some mafia goons and then avoiding barrels
3:47 actually with some tricky platforming in the 2nd room of the stealth part, you can stand on top of the wall. Then if you carefully go back while still standing on the wall, you can stand on top of the 1st room of the level. Keep moving and you are in the parking lot. Kind of hard to explain in text form but if anyone is interested i could find a way to show them.

A few things you missed in the video, but probably found out in the nearly 2 years this video has been up. In Finale, the arena where you fight Mustache Girl, as well as the area outside the main area, are actually located far from each other. So far in fact, that you probably can't see it without the dev console. With the Arena, everything is there except for MG herself if you go there before entering her room. Not 100% sure on this one, but reportedly all the time rifts are also loaded in the one map. Another case of this is with Seal the Deal, where ALL of the DLC maps are loaded in at once. As a result, when loading the DLC, the game lags a little bit for a few seconds.
dragon_blade It'd probably go to some dumb artsy game or something. This game has very little publicity, which is a real shame because it's a fantastic game.
At least we can look at the positives, like the chances of this getting a shitty fandom is low. Cuphead on the other hand, has started getting those crappy ocs and erotic stuff.

That bit about BSP isn't right. Some miscommunication, perhaps, or a slip by the developer. BSP isn't a thing you put into a level. It's Binary Space *Partitioning*. It's a way of internally dividing up space of the level in the engine. And yes, sometimes you put extra geometry to help out with that or to patch holes, but the things you put in aren't BSP. Any chance he said/meant CSG (constructive solid geometry) or brushes?
Yeah, BSP is a way of storing objects in memory so that you can quickly select all the objects in an arbitrary volume (for things like collision detection) without using up too much memory. CSG is a way of rapidly constructing simple 3D shapes, say for quick level prototyping.
Huh, you're right, they are. From the Unreal docs: "Technically, BSP (Binary Space Partitioning) refers to a data structure that is used to organize objects within a space, and thus it is not semantically correct. A more accurate term for this type of geometry would be CSG (Constructive Solid Geometry)." So I guess it's a poor naming choice that stuck?
Yeah, I thought it was just a case of someone playing it fast-and-lose with terminology :) The key word there is *brush* and "BSP" is a descriptor. They're essentially dropping the wrong word in shortening it, thus changing the meaning and making it confusing. It's like saying "I'm puting alphabetical order in my drawer" or something - you can't put an idea anywhere, you can put some files IN an alphabetical order, IN a drawer. This will probably sound overly pedantic to most readers, but it's just when you know what BSP means, the thing said in the video just sounds baffling.

I’m pretty sure the whole “prophecy in the closet” was part of the beta build, since the beta seemed a lot more story based going off of what we had, and even had a stone tablet depicting Several images. (I also tried to piece together what this all meant, here are my results) Two stars - (maybe something having to do with Conductor and DJ Grooves, or maybe HK and her adult self) A black hole - (possibly something having to do with a Beta storyline, possibly caused by a time rift.) Gate Way Of light - (I honestly have no idea, possibly something having to do with the rift areas, maybe Alpine Skyline, I couldn’t figure this one out) A message of hands - (sign language? Wingdings? I have no idea ) (I forgot this one I’ll edit it in later) The souls of his people - (probably something to do with Snatcher and his minions) (I forgot this one too, I’ll edit later) The truth between two time travelers - (in the stone plate that was cut we see HK depicted with her older self, the two time travelers, and the truth could be a secret they both know, or maybe it’s Tim.) (I also forgot this one) The promise of a hat - (something to do with Hat Kid most defiantly, maybe something to do with Tim or her future self.)

Something that I found on my own as of now, trying to be a bit boundary break-y. In the Boss Room of the Conductor/DJ Grooves, if you go out of it, you can find the opposing boss room on the other side. So for example, if you chose the Conductor as a boss, and went outside of the left wall, you can find DJ Grooves' boss room over there.
This is such an under-appreciated game...... And it has such good lore, too! I've spent hours doing this. I love exploring every little detail of it and the music is so good!
How long will it take Shesez to get to have someone from one of the three gaming behemoths (Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft NOT in any particular order, to avoid hatred) on the show? I would guees about a decade. Any different opinions? And why?
Here's a potentially interesting recommendation for Off Camera Secrets: Tomb Raider 2013. Looking at the map in-game, there are a few large areas that you're never granted access to, and if you go to the cliff on the far side of the village with the pagoda on the far left, you can see objects down below as well as a path that looks like it was meant to be walked on. I found this in the Definitive Edition. It looks like evidence of cancelled DLC. I was unable to find any mention of any of this online.
You can actually find several if these without any console commands. I spotted the knife in the toy box and where the pillows are stored just by using the camera badge and going straight towards them- it goes right through the toy box and if you press up against a wall, while you can't go through, you often clip just enough to see through the wall.
Not sure if I can give you a link or not, but it was posted about ayear ago. I searched "Boundary Break: F-Zero" and it was the top result. It's definitely there. Published on his channel on May 15, 2016.
10:54 You can actually use the camera badge to see this. Still a really complex way to find an easter egg though since you have to use the dweller mask. I also found most of the toilet easter eggs with the camera badge but the brown water was yellow for me & I didn't find the M. The drawing in Hat Kid's toy box shows a man, a woman, & Hat Kid but the black object sitting on the paper is blocking your view of a 2nd smaller blonde kid who's been crossed out & appears to have a beard or a mustache. If you move the camera through the stack of books on top of the book shelf in the pillow fort, you can see that one of the books has what looks like an extremely low res screenshot of Hat Kid hiding under the piano in Queen Vanessa's Manor.

I feel like the note has to do with moonjumper (cut character) and snatcher, “two stars” may be referring to how mom jumped is strapped in the horizon and idk how snatcher fits into that line. A black hole no idea what that’s supposed to mean. Gateway of light, I feel this could either be how when snatcher died it was like a gateway of light, but I don’t really know. “The forgotten temple” is most likely referring to Vanessa manor as I can’t see where else it would fit. No idea a message of hands. “Pillars of fire is probably the fire pillar attacks snatcher has when he attacks you in “your contract has expired” thought it might also be the fire walls that the fire spirits make. “The souls of his people” is 100% referring to the dwellers and the subconites, because they were once snatchers people (as seen in the storybook for subcon forest and the one for him in death wish) but died as they were frozen over by Vanessa. “Raining sun” I’m not really sure on this one. “The truth between two time travelers” I honestly think this part is hat kid and bow kid, not sure how they fit into the rest but maybe because they entered subcon? Not quite sure. “A peaceful garden” I think this is referring to the horizon, where moonjumper is kept trapped, I believe it looked somewhat like a garden? I might be wrong on that. And “ the promise of a hat” is most likely just a kind of ending I don’t believe that part is of importance but it might be the dweller mask you can get in there. And there you have it! That’s just what I think so if you have any ideas on stuff I couldn’t figure out just reply to this comment I guess, or make your own comment, or a video, just do what u want man idk.
You can actually use the camera badge in the game to wedge the camera into a lot of corners and see some of those easter eggs without using dev tools. Of course, there's still the SOD OFF cheese, the old third floor of the manor (I miss the walls of crazy from it in the final build! Though I'm glad I don't have to spend as much time around Vanessa, she terrifies me) and what not.
the secret message is actually easier to access using the camera badge and the dwellers hat. Using the dwellers hat then freezing time with the camera badge you can then sneak your way through the crack in the door to find the message. In the same room is a mouse hole under the spyglass that leads to the Roach king secret.
11:00 It's the color association puzzle in Silent Hill 1, you have to find all the missing color plaques to put in the door in the right order to unlock it.
0:46 The knife is actually a part of the DJ Grooves boss battle, and since every other game places objects that are used later on out of bounds, maybe it is the same thing.
4:51 - I experienced something similar to that in a Time Rift level through normal play. I got to the highest point in an area, and when I tried to look down, all of the geometry became invisible. 10:59 - Hey, while we're on the subject of messages that can only be seen by the Dweller Mask, I stumbled upon one on the right wall of Vanessa's kitchen. I didn't give it a good look, just thought I'd throw it out there.
Hat kids lore: Hat kid and Snatcher probably met before, because if you look into the unused song (that was part of hat kids sequel, it was later scrapped) it describes how snatcher was and how he is now. Although, I am not certain but Snatcher is MoonJumper, Aka Queen Vanessa’s prince. The one that was locked up for eternity. But! But. MoonJumper was going to be apart of Queen Vanessa’s mansion in the final release. You guessed it! They scrapped him. If you read Vanessa’s story, it also features “Flower Girl”, that girl Vanessa saw when the prince was buying flowers. So doesn’t she hate flower girl for that? SO. What if Hat Kid is flower girl reborn? She might’ve died by punishment. Why I think of this is because that Vanessa tries to kidnap you in her level.
you can also see a lot of these items without cheating in game by using the camera badge! The Roach King clue trail was a lot of fun and the end result upstairs is a fun little 'worth the effort' easter egg.
I'm wondering if that knife could have anything to do with the line: "A closet! You only really wear one outfit, so there's lots of room for skeletons." Aslo, I have my suspicions that there's a deeper connection with Hat kid and Vanessa, because there are a lot of stuff in the Manor which can also be seen Hat kid's spaceship.

According to that video, the reason why there is no Boundary Break episode of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U (At least in 2016. I do not know if the situation has changed since then.) is that the tools that were available at the time could only manipulate the camera in the game up to a point. More details are explained in the video.

Wanna know why there's so much room for the mafia boss? There exists a bit of prototype footage where he will be seen running towards hat kid in a 3D perspective, the boss was changed during the alpha/beta though, same with the boss in mafia town, it originally was more of a combat than beating up some mafia goons and then avoiding barrels
Also , it's fun messing with the game's settings, you can remove gravity lol.

3:47 actually with some tricky platforming in the 2nd room of the stealth part, you can stand on top of the wall. Then if you carefully go back while still standing on the wall, you can stand on top of the 1st room of the level. Keep moving and you are in the parking lot. Kind of hard to explain in text form but if anyone is interested i could find a way to show them.
Really want to play Hat In Time but will wait a while to see if a Switch port is announced. I love the look of it though! :D

I thought it was made in Unreal? That definitely is supported on the switch. I believe Snake Pass was made in it and that came out a while ago
the devs said a switch port is never going to happen due to the difficulty in porting it to the weaker switch hardware.

A few things you missed in the video, but probably found out in the nearly 2 years this video has been up.
In Finale, the arena where you fight Mustache Girl, as well as the area outside the main area, are actually located far from each other. So far in fact, that you probably can't see it without the dev console. With the Arena, everything is there except for MG herself if you go there before entering her room.
Not 100% sure on this one, but reportedly all the time rifts are also loaded in the one map.
Another case of this is with Seal the Deal, where ALL of the DLC maps are loaded in at once. As a result, when loading the DLC, the game lags a little bit for a few seconds.
This is one of the suprising games of this year definitely indie game of the year for sure.

Definitely overshadowed by cuphead, which is a shame as both are equally fantastic games

That bit about BSP isn't right. Some miscommunication, perhaps, or a slip by the developer. BSP isn't a thing you put into a level. It's Binary Space *Partitioning*. It's a way of internally dividing up space of the level in the engine. And yes, sometimes you put extra geometry to help out with that or to patch holes, but the things you put in aren't BSP. Any chance he said/meant CSG (constructive solid geometry) or brushes?
Yeah, BSP is a way of storing objects in memory so that you can quickly select all the objects in an arbitrary volume (for things like collision detection) without using up too much memory. CSG is a way of rapidly constructing simple 3D shapes, say for quick level prototyping.
Huh, you're right, they are. From the Unreal docs: "Technically, BSP (Binary Space Partitioning) refers to a data structure that is used to organize objects within a space, and thus it is not semantically correct. A more accurate term for this type of geometry would be CSG (Constructive Solid Geometry)." So I guess it's a poor naming choice that stuck?
Yeah, I thought it was just a case of someone playing it fast-and-lose with terminology :) The key word there is *brush* and "BSP" is a descriptor. They're essentially dropping the wrong word in shortening it, thus changing the meaning and making it confusing. It's like saying "I'm puting alphabetical order in my drawer" or something - you can't put an idea anywhere, you can put some files IN an alphabetical order, IN a drawer. This will probably sound overly pedantic to most readers, but it's just when you know what BSP means, the thing said in the video just sounds baffling.

I’m pretty sure the whole “prophecy in the closet” was part of the beta build, since the beta seemed a lot more story based going off of what we had, and even had a stone tablet depicting Several images.
(I also tried to piece together what this all meant, here are my results)
Two stars - (maybe something having to do with Conductor and DJ Grooves, or maybe HK and her adult self)
A black hole - (possibly something having to do with a Beta storyline, possibly caused by a time rift.)
Gate Way Of light - (I honestly have no idea, possibly something having to do with the rift areas, maybe Alpine Skyline, I couldn’t figure this one out)
A message of hands - (sign language? Wingdings? I have no idea )

The souls of his people - (probably something to do with Snatcher and his minions)

Something that I found on my own as of now, trying to be a bit boundary break-y. In the Boss Room of the Conductor/DJ Grooves, if you go out of it, you can find the opposing boss room on the other side. So for example, if you chose the Conductor as a boss, and went outside of the left wall, you can find DJ Grooves' boss room over there.

Here's a potentially interesting recommendation for Off Camera Secrets: Tomb Raider 2013. Looking at the map in-game, there are a few large areas that you're never granted access to, and if you go to the cliff on the far side of the village with the pagoda on the far left, you can see objects down below as well as a path that looks like it was meant to be walked on. I found this in the Definitive Edition. It looks like evidence of cancelled DLC. I was unable to find any mention of any of this online.

You can actually find several if these without any console commands.
I spotted the knife in the toy box and where the pillows are stored just by using the camera badge and going straight towards them- it goes right through the toy box and if you press up against a wall, while you can't go through, you often clip just enough to see through the wall.

I also found most of the toilet easter eggs with the camera badge but the brown water was yellow for me & I didn't find the M.
The drawing in Hat Kid's toy box shows a man, a woman, & Hat Kid but the black object sitting on the paper is blocking your view of a 2nd smaller blonde kid who's been crossed out & appears to have a beard or a mustache.
If you move the camera through the stack of books on top of the book shelf in the pillow fort, you can see that one of the books has what looks like an extremely low res screenshot of Hat Kid hiding under the piano in Queen Vanessa's Manor.

I feel like the note has to do with moonjumper (cut character) and snatcher, “two stars” may be referring to how mom jumped is strapped in the horizon and idk how snatcher fits into that line. A black hole no idea what that’s supposed to mean. Gateway of light, I feel this could either be how when snatcher died it was like a gateway of light, but I don’t really know. “The forgotten temple” is most likely referring to Vanessa manor as I can’t see where else it would fit. No idea a message of hands. “Pillars of fire is probably the fire pillar attacks snatcher has when he attacks you in “your contract has expired” thought it might also be the fire walls that the fire spirits make. “The souls of his people” is 100% referring to the dwellers and the subconites, because they were once snatchers people (as seen in the storybook for subcon forest and the one for him in death wish) but died as they were frozen over by Vanessa. “Raining sun” I’m not really sure on this one. “The truth between two time travelers” I honestly think this part is hat kid and bow kid, not sure how they fit into the rest but maybe because they entered subcon? Not quite sure. “A peaceful garden” I think this is referring to the horizon, where moonjumper is kept trapped, I believe it looked somewhat like a garden? I might be wrong on that. And “ the promise of a hat” is most likely just a kind of ending I don’t believe that part is of importance but it might be the dweller mask you can get in there.
And there you have it! That’s just what I think so if you have any ideas on stuff I couldn’t figure out just reply to this comment I guess, or make your own comment, or a video, just do what u want man idk.

You can actually use the camera badge in the game to wedge the camera into a lot of corners and see some of those easter eggs without using dev tools. Of course, there's still the SOD OFF cheese, the old third floor of the manor (I miss the walls of crazy from it in the final build! Though I'm glad I don't have to spend as much time around Vanessa, she terrifies me) and what not.

the secret message is actually easier to access using the camera badge and the dwellers hat. Using the dwellers hat then freezing time with the camera badge you can then sneak your way through the crack in the door to find the message.
In the same room is a mouse hole under the spyglass that leads to the Roach king secret.
Couldn't you just use the camera badge to look in the closet?

Hey, while we're on the subject of messages that can only be seen by the Dweller Mask, I stumbled upon one on the right wall of Vanessa's kitchen. I didn't give it a good look, just thought I'd throw it out there.
Hat kids lore:
Hat kid and Snatcher probably met before, because if you look into the unused song (that was part of hat kids sequel, it was later scrapped) it describes how snatcher was and how he is now.
Although, I am not certain but Snatcher is MoonJumper, Aka Queen Vanessa’s prince. The one that was locked up for eternity. But! But. MoonJumper was going to be apart of Queen Vanessa’s mansion in the final release. You guessed it! They scrapped him.
If you read Vanessa’s story, it also features “Flower Girl”, that girl Vanessa saw when the prince was buying flowers. So doesn’t she hate flower girl for that?
SO. What if Hat Kid is flower girl reborn?
She might’ve died by punishment.
Why I think of this is because that Vanessa tries to kidnap you in her level.
you can also see a lot of these items without cheating in game by using the camera badge! The Roach King clue trail was a lot of fun and the end result upstairs is a fun little 'worth the effort' easter egg.

Aslo, I have my suspicions that there's a deeper connection with Hat kid and Vanessa, because there are a lot of stuff in the Manor which can also be seen Hat kid's spaceship.
You never went back and talked about the knife. People are saying that it's a reference to the train level, but I initially thought that it was a reference to Undertale. Would be a cool reference though, since the age of the child and the hair color matches. Cool insights, great game! 😁
The secret message in that closet really convinces me of the tie between the game's canon and the "secret videos".
