I'm so grateful to see this video! You had bought this off my cousin Audrey. This is a piece of my history that means a lot to me. I remember seeing this car and another red opal. my uncle's where my mentor, I miss them very much. take care of this gem
I’m so happy to see her running ❤ Thank you Rachel for give her a good home and a chance for me to see her run again . I hope she brings you lots of smiles .
You hit the jack pot girl..I loved them cars..and your supply of parts is like the ultimate project without the headache of sourcing parts that I'm sure are in very limited quantity and quality....I envy your situation....make me proud and do it right
The only thing with the Opel GT that always turned me away from them? Not a lot of easy interchange & upgrades that I've ever seen, not to mention parts availability. A friend went to school in Evansville, IN and his roommate's dad was an owner of an Indy race shop. He had one and it had a turbocharged Quad-4, brakes were off a 1LE Camaro I believe, suspension was done up "In house" and it was very bad-ass....but when dad owns a shop that builds Indy race cars, eh, it's easy-peasy & affordable.
Pretty bad ass! The look, style, bodylines, etc on vehicles from back then is just something I love - plus things were actually made of metal & didn't break like today's cars. lol
Hi there, this is a no name color from a hardware store 40+ years ago. The owner had his little girl pick her favorite color off the shelf, then he painted it for her. She inherited the car 20 years ago. The original color is GT Metallic Green, which I’d love to bring it back to someday.
Not at all! It’s still here, still plugging along. This was just too good a deal to pass up and way closer to being on the road than Cora. Her plan is to get the Opel on the road to drive while she’s working on Cora.

Opel GT, was the poor man Corvette from the 70's. The one piece transmission might be a 5- speed, from a later or different Opel model. 🤔

Already got all the smiles! ❤
She's absolutely adorable, you're hilarious, what a wonderful combination!
This channels IQ and overall appearance just skyrocketed. LOL. Just kidding...well kind of.
AH so the random garden hose WAS in fact factory. Mine had a green hose. And it came loose while driving to prom. No wonder I got nauseous that night.
Cylinder head is from 1971.
Sweet!

Holy shit what a find! Tons of parts you guys will be busy.
Awesome car!
I used to have a Opel GT 1900 ,1969 from 1974 to 1984!! Loved that car and miss it!!
Cool car. Rachel is a trip.
So happy for her! What a color too! 🎉
2.something works better than 1900 cc. Mine 2.5 liter turbo ford +5 speed tremic tko.
So fun. A 1970 was my first car in 1979. The wiper fluid delivery is cool with the foot pump.

You two are a great couple! Some couples can't work together.

Hi. I am dismantling the drivetrain of my 1971 GT. All of it is getting replaced. I am Seacoast NH. Mine has a really interesting story.
Haha, watching more of the vid, you may not need anything!
Love this car so rare , make her put in the hours 😂

So, what happend to Cora the 59 Beetle? Has Rachel abandoned that project? Anyway, the Opel GT also is a very nice car. Good luck with it! 🤘

The headlight cha Ching is called an actuator. In other words you couldn’t make the actuator work.
Dunno man. Says it’s called a cha-ching in the manual.
thats a beaut. Taylor who?:P Nice score. Is the new channel name Rachel Werks?
I support this 😂
Love this!
Wow, Rachel got a lot of extra Opel parts!!
Always loved this car.
I remember these cars back in the day. They were cool but not a vette.
That’s why they were cool, because they weren’t a Vette 😂
Awesome car Opel!
