Made this with lean beef and low fat oils. Very healthy bodybuilding option when made this way! Thank you for posting as a guy that is always looking for quick yet tasty healthy meals this hit the spot.
Donna - THANK YOU!!! Finally a hamburger and rice recipe that my hubby loves!!!!! Thank you so much! I will be watching your other videos. Thank you again Donna!!!
Did your Daddy do most of the cooking when you were growing up? Me and my Dad always did Thanksgiving together and he was an excellent cook but he barely darkened the kitchen door the rest of the year, lol. I think he just did that for me because I thought it was so much fun and it became our tradition.
Helena daddy helped mama alot but mama did most of the cooking but daddy had a few of his dishes that mama always complained when she would try to do his dish she would say it just don't taste like your dad's ♥️ nothing better then having those beautiful precious memories of our parents being in the kitchen with them is something I hold near and dear in my heart and I'm sure you feel the same❤
Going to try this for supper! Donna, I just found you on utube. Can’t wait to try all the recipes. I love the way you southern cook a lot of your meals! I live in North Carolina.
I had this for a hot lunch in grade school! Loved it! They would give you a ice cream scoop on plate! It was sticky, I'm not sure if it was pork? I'm gonna give this recipe a try, sounds so simple and easy
@@CookingWithDonna I have already fixed it and ate. It was delicious. I had some hamburger out and did not know what to do with it. And I wanted to try something different. I already had everything I needed. So easy and we loved it. I will subscribe and be watching ! take care
Donna I’m so thrilled to hear y’all enjoyed.. its simple different and tasty ..my Daddy always made this up when times were hard definitely budget friendly and tasty.. you take care and I hope you enjoy and thanks for watching your truly appreciated ❤️
Hi Donna , I just found you here and what awesome recipes you have here . I was raised in the south and going to try all your recipes… my name is Pam using my sons account 🤗thank you 😋
For anyone on a time crunch or you don't like cooking as much as I do sometimes, use Ben's Original Ready Rice (in the orange pouches). I use their jasmine rice for the majority of my powerlifting meal prep. Brown your hamburger, however you prefer, vegetables optional. Once the meat is browned, keep it in the skillet and turn the heat down a little bit, then add the rice. Since the rice is mostly pre-cooked, it will finish fluffing up (or steaming if you have a vented lid to use) with the meat. Mix around to keep from sticking for about 5-10 minutes, which is also the perfect window of time to add any other ingredients to your dish you may want. If you want the rice seperate, the pouches are steam pouches, just rip the top edges open per the instructions on the pouch, and you can microwave them in a few minutes. For you keto lovers out there, if you want a higher fat content for this dish, don't go with a higher fat hamburger, that fat is saturated fat and it's not the kind that is best for your body. Keep the leaner hamburger but add a tablespoon or two of olive oil to the pan instead, which will give you the unsaturated fats that are way better.
@@CookingWithDonna thank you for the video, I had to browse TH-cam to see what other people were doing with hamburger and rice for the main ingredients. Awesome video!
Decent alternative however I suggest you look into the new studies about saturated fat. A lot of outdated misinformation has been spewed for decades. Omega 6 and seed oils are what's truly bad for us. Butter and saturated fats are not bad for us like we've been told. Also suggest u check out Dr. Berg on TH-cam
@@skmg2888 I will look into Dr. Berg. As far as healthy fats go, it shouldn't be omega 6 most modern day americans need to worry about, they won't get enough of one or the other to amount to having to worry about it. Most need to worry about the omega 3 deficit they run into with their typical food intake. Of course too much Omega 6 will lead to poor cardiovasular health as well. Anybody taking a fat supplement should be taking a omega 3 supp and focus on higher EPA/DHA concentrations in their daily intake. If you were told butter was bad for you, it must have been some gnarly butter your local stores were selling 🤣. I'll definitely be looking into Dr.Berg though, thanks for the mention. I recommend looking into Derek from More Plates More Dates. He's been in the fitness industry for a hot minute and has his own clinic and is big on research for dietary and fitness goals.
Donna this looks good. I am going to try it this week, who knows how long we all will have to stay in our homes. Glad I am stocked up. How big of a pan did you use for the eggs to get them that thin? Thanks for the recipe and you stay safe too. The Lord will take care of his own.
Hello june...for the eggs I just used a normal size griddle buttered it up poured the beaten egg let them cook low..and you are so welcome I sure hope you enjoy and god bless
@@CookingWithDonna No need to apologize. This is your channel and your recipe and my cringe topics are my own. Everyone has different things that cause them to cringe :) The important thing is your recipe which I liked.
This looks great but Im gonna have to try it without the soy sauce.....that amount of soy sauce is like 4000 milligrams, or 2 days worth in one serving for me! High Blood Pressure sucks!!

BBQ sauce is also good in this. Sweet Baby Rays Sweet&Spicey is the best. Not sure why but that and the cucumber just seem so good together.

Looks good! But no one in my house likes soy sauce. Would this work with steak sauce instead?
I’m really not sure I’ve never tried it with steak sauce❤️
@@CookingWithDonna Ok thanks for the reply!
@bretstanley8931 you are so welcome ❤️
Maybe try worstishire sauce?
Do you have a print out for this?
I don’t I’m sorry❤️
I can't find the part where you use spices. Did you use any spices?
Hello Ellis I didn’t add spices the soy sauce ketchup and onion and garlic is what flavors it hope this helps very simple but tasty❤️
