This was the first video that popped up when I seached on using public transportation in Stockholm and it pretty much detailed everything I needed to know. Excellent job.
0:57 "additional ticket to Arlanda" apply only if you want to travel without transfer. If you travel with train 41 or 42X to Märsta and then bus 583 to Arlanda (58min), than you pay only a single ticket, 39 SEK
Thank you a lot! I forgot to ask the lady at the shop what I can ride with the SL card. I actually was afraid it would only be the T line.xD This helps a lot for my trip!x3
This seems to be a very interesting place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
I remember when I first went to Stockholm in 2000 there were these bizarre paper tickets that one had to 'clip' at a machine in the tube stations. I never really understood what it was all about 😅
The fact you can just use contactless card completely removes the use for access cards unless you're a student. I used to have it but there's just no reason anymore. The mobile tickets work really well imo!
how do i prove i bought a ticket to a ticket inspector on bus or metro if i just tap my visa card ? i don't get a physical ticket if using credit card.
If you present the same card when they come and check, they can see that the card is being used as a ticket. So it's basically the same as using "reskassa", but your balance is however much you have in your bank ;)
It is possible to return the card to get the content back, but there's a fee, so it's usually not worth it. In a few days, we have an updated video coming out that I think will be helpful for you. Click the bell to not miss out! 😉
HejHej, Question. Last winter we were on holiday in Malmö. We went from Malmö to Ikea just nice to visit. We asked the buschauffeur for a ticket but he couldnt sell us one? Not in contant money and also no pin (by card) possible. He said you can buy a ticket in the app. We were sitting in the bus but in the app you could only buy tickets with creditcard We didn't have a creditcard. We still don't understand how and where we had to buy bustickets. At the ikea malmö there was just a randon busstop, no busticket to buy nearby. No creditcard for the app. And in the bus it wasnt possible to buy with pin or contant...
Cash is very rarely used in Sweden, but the problem with tickets not being sold on the bus was solved here i Stockholm by making your credit/debit card into the ticket. I guess they have some catching up to do down there.
Are single fare tickets even worth it say if I go to a hockey game it's longer than that lol so I'd have to buy 2 single fares then? I can use my debit card next month when I visit for single far tickets I guess every time since I won't be there for only 4 days. Now just tap your debit card on the screen and voila that's it?
Hi, so do I have to activate SL access card every time I enter a bus/tram/metro? Or do I only have to do it once? I'm gonna buy a 72-hour ticket, so that's the one that interests me:)
If you tap an access card or any bank card that already has an active ticket on the card readers. It won't charge you again. But it will still open the gates, and also prove to the bus driver or any ticket guards that you do, indeed, have a ticket.
Hi, I have the blue sl card that bought before pandemic but just found there is a new green sl card...if I recharge the blue sl card it would be valid?
Yes, but it is recommended to switch to the new card as soon as possible. In a few days, we have an updated video coming out that I think will be helpful for you. Click the bell to not miss out! 😉
When I buy a ticket in the app, will it appear to me as a QR code with which I show myself in the green reader only once every fist time I enter the metro, train or bus? Thank you
@@inStockholm oohk, so my bank card will be enough for all time payments for busses in Uppsala , and a person in Märsta station told me that I must buy the ticket online for SJ..
Hi can someone help me? I i buy tickets for my family by the app i have to give my phone to them for reading the qr code? My youngest son is free so how can he do?
Stockholm has, by far, the worst public transport in Europe. Paying monthly ticket around 100€ for usual cancellations, delays and extremely slow transport. People who claim otherwise haven't been using public transport in Stockholm or are swedish nationalist who don't want to admit that this type of public service in their country is below european standards.
Part 2 out now! (Link in video description)
In part 2, we detail the new system and the green card.

Can I use my bank card for SJ going to Uppsala from Märsta, will I have to pay again when leaving the bus station for taking train??
SJ is another company, and the busses in Uppsala are also run by yet another company (UL)

If you're traveling with multiple people, you can buy multiple tickest in the app. And just scan it once.
What a brilliant name, I mean the author's name.🤣😂😅
