  • I love coffee and use this channel to keep track of my coffee tournee and latte art progress.
    As a barista set I have a Profitec Pro 700 and a Baratza Sette 270.
    During holidays I enjoy using my DeLonghi EC685

    Simple effective video. Thanks. What wand is that?

      It's the Rancilio Silvia V1/V2 steam wand. Here is a link to a youtube video on how to do the modification. th-cam.com/video/5AOTa3bEpYM/w-d-xo.html (it took me about 30 minutes)

    Hi, great video! I’ve just got one of these machines so I’m a complete beginner. Which grinder do you use?

    Nice. Why did you pour the milk into the second just?

    • @dutchhomebarista
      @dutchhomebarista  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks. I have the idea that it makes the milk smoother and better distributed.

    Hi! Could you specify how much grams of coffee you use? Also, do you adjust the time if extraction or is by default? Thanks

    • @dutchhomebarista
      @dutchhomebarista  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I use ~9 grams.
      My handgrinder grinds to coarse or to fine to get the time at 25-30sec. Thats why the extraction is so long. I prefere to stop/abort the extraction manualy.

    My steam arm doesn't seem to run for that long but I followed the same process you did. My jug still has water left at the end too so I don't think it's that. Is there a setting I need to change to get a longer steam delivery?

      Hi Matthew, it takes a lot of practice. Changing the steam wand helped me to make better steam.

      @@dutchhomebarista Well I'm an idiot. The steam wand purge position is not the steam position. Now I just need to learn how to dial it in for different coffees. Thanks again.

      Yes I replaced the original wand by a "rancilio silvia V1/V2" steam wand". You can buy the wand on ebay or amazon. On youtube there are video's on how to do the modification. If you are a bit technical but not that hard to do. It took me ~30 minutes.

    How firmly are you tamping the coffee please? You dont give it away in any of your videos. Thanks 😀

      @dutchhomebarista  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Paul, I use a metal tamper. I "rest" the upper end of the basket on the kitchen counter and tamp:-)

      @@Theworshipkeeper I just gif it a frim tamp. It's more important to tamp with a constant pressure.
