    This is my 2nd Keurig coffee maker of this model. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf The first worked fine for more than 2 years, and I could still get a decent cup of coffee out of it if I fiddled with it when I decided to replace it. The problem I had with my first unit was this: When attempting to brew a cup of coffee, the unit would either keep brewing until the coffee was undrinkable or it would not run long enough and the coffee produced was way too strong. I cleaned the unit as best I could but it did not help. So in the end it was just too much trouble to get a good cup of coffee out of it, so I decided to replace it with a new one, which has been working great since I unpacked it.

    thanks for this video man. I have EC685 with rancilio silvia wand, and I struggle to get a good result. What I noticed watching your video, is that at the beginning of steaming, right after the purge, when I switch to the milk pitcher, the steam strength usually gets very low after I turn it on the 2nd time, sometimes it even stops for 1 or 2 seconds, before picking up strength again. Then the same seems to happen after about 1min of steaming, the wand starts screaming and the strength goes low, and I loose the whirlpool. I also noticed that you steamed the milk for about 50s and it takes me about 1min20s to get to the proper temperature... Any idea if my machine has an issue and if it's fixable?

    • @awesomestuffybelly
      @awesomestuffybelly 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine did get wobbly. I found out that was because I was too violent when trying to get the ball joint through the new steam wand, especially when at the bends. So the ball joint got too lose after I pushed it to the top. The ball joint was supposed to grab the steam wand tight.
      I solved this by applying 3-4 rounds of thread seal tape near the top end of the new steam wand where the ball joint is supposed to be at. Then twist the ball joint in to make it tight again. You want to twist it very slowly otherwise the tape is gonna be squeezed to one end and does nothing at all. I tried 5-6 times to make it right. But it works perfectly.

    Hi, thanks for this great vid. Nice close filming and explaining. Do you have any experience with frothing milk with sort of "automatic" steamer like the La Specialista from Delonghi? I have this machine now for a week and are unable to find any vids except the ones from Delonghi how to frot the milk. The hose has two option. One for Late and one for Cappuccino. Its just a simple ring on the hose. I think the idea is to put the milk jug next to were you put the coffee cup and put the hose strait in the jug. I tried several ways but I am not getting the result I was hoping for I think it is because the hose stays in the same upright position. When Keeping the jug in my hand outside the machine the hose is I think not in the right angle. I hope you can help. Kind regards, Jos

    • @dutchhomebarista
      @dutchhomebarista  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Jos, sorry for the late reply. I have tried autosteaming on this machine but with bad results. The trick is to hold the steam tip just on the surface of the milk in a way that makes the milk spin and keep lowering the jug when the milk rises (until it has risen enough). With the original steam wand it's better to remove the "big nozzle" and steam with the little black rubber wand. But even then it needs lots and lots of practice. It took me a few weeks to get "acceptable" result and I am still improving every time:-) If you go to my channel and look at my "delonghi playlist" there are more video's that can mabe help you. Good luke and keep practicing:-)

      @@dutchhomebarista Thanks, no need to say sorry :-) Practicing with water and a drup of soap helped me al lot. So far I get the best results when I hold the jug in my hand, tilt it a bit and keep the big nozzle with an angle just under the surface. Even with the big nozzle the milk spins. Listen good to the sound of the air in the milk. When the milk level rises I rise the nozzle to keep it spinning and getting air in the milk. When the jug is almost too hot too hold I lower the nozzle deeper in the milk to get more steam in the bottom of the milk. This way I get "acceptable" results for cappuccino milk. :-P
