So, this is Toshinden. It was one of the first Play Station titles and despite its reputation, I think it's not that bad if you compare it with the first Tekken or Virtua Fighter. And the music is awesome.
This walkthrough doesn't have any serious issues as far as I know. In the beggining I was going for the good ending but somehow Sho (the real last boss) didn't appear so I had to do it again in hard mode. So after the bad ending I show so a little of Sho and the good ending. -

First game I ever played on Ps1, it was very impressive back in 1995.
Absolutely! when I got my PS1 back in 1996 Christmas this was the Only game my mom brought for me at the time.
Virtua Fighter on the Saturn is a much better game than this mess. Graphically there isn't much difference between the PSX and Saturn version of Toshinden, either. Tekken 1 came out on the PSX not much later and this game was forgotten forever.
Yes I went to circuit city and bought the PlayStation. The 1st day or came out. And this game! 2 controllers. Went home and had hours and hours and hours of fun playing my friends. It was great!
Was my first PS1 game too! Good times :)
Same. This and parappa
I have been searching for this game for many years.. i found it. My favorite childhood time game.
It Was my favourite too
Who else is here cause they had a flash back of their past
These were the days.. how i miss the 90's !!
OMG the first Playstation game I ever played as it was on a demo booth in Toys'R Us.
They still have These at Some Game Store
Too bad the game sucks
I played this game at toys’r us too this game is the reason why I wanted a ps1
This.........seriously needs a reboot. O-O
Love how Sofia screamed her moves before she did them but it was too slow to block them anyway.
I still have this game & love it. Still play it from time to time with my older brother like we use to when we were younger
Random Famous TH-cam commenter Nope there were no save features for this game untill i think the third one
+Random Famous TH-cam commenter YEAH
Duke's theme is still damn good after all these years
15:08 my favorite moment of playing PS1 in 1996
lol. Mine too, when playing Demo 1 disc :)
aaaa
@@karelpipa wa prepet
shadows of smash bros ringouts to come
Ahhh, one of the first PlayStation games ever. This came with my first PS, and I played it constantly.
teckworks It was also the first ever 3D fighting game ever made.
@@jg_crusade Nope, that was Virtua Fighter a couple months before
Same here, I miss my original PS1 with this game
@@jg_crusadeVirtua Fighter released in arcades in 1993 with it releasing on Saturn in 1994 in Japan and months before Toshinden in America.
Virtua Fighter 2 was out in Japan already plus Tekken was out in all regions in arcades before Toshinden launched, I don’t know where you came up with Toshinden coming first
I still play this game even now, on my PS3 and on PC using an emulator. The characters, voices, settings, moves and the music is just epic beyond words. This so needs a modern remake.
This is the game that convinced me to get a ps1, and start down the road of ps1, ps2, ps3, and now ps4. One game.
Narfle Jessut i think arguably ps had the best games and became one of the best systems
sad. come to pc masterrace
@@onehitwonder4470 What’s sad is your comment what are you 12??
I love PC over all console too but I don’t talk sh*t yo people about it.
I’ve been on PS since 95 and now own a PS5!!
I don’t have that kind of nostalgia with PC tbh.
I like both ✊🏽✌🏽
@@JoeyBK_86 no. im 14 now.
I remember playing the demo of this on the PS1 demo disc way back in '95. Good times
Pizza Hut demos!
No Problem!
Dude this music is epic!
I still listen to this games musics during jugging lol
I was in love with this game’s soundtrack back in the day.
The game sucks so bad like seriously, it's really bad
Lmao
@@draconicslayer3593 No one cares what you think, useless troll. :p
Wow this games brings back sooo many memories!!! :,) I will always love Fo’s laugh ek ek ek ek ek ek ek ek!!
This was the fighting game I played a lot during PS1 before the introduction of Tekken. Catchy beats, fun characters and hilarious graphics! I loved it!!
Duke's theme still slaps so hard even today
This was my favorite game growing up
Damn!!! This takes me back bro
My first PS1 game
Lol... I love how Duke holds a 2-handed sword with 2 hands, but manages to swing it with 1-hand just as fast as Eiji's single-handed blade.
I remember going into a games store on PSX release day and seeing this game on a big screen. I must have stood there watching for the best part of an hour. I would have given absolutely anything to have walked out with a PSX that day.
This was also my first PS1 game. Sofia’s stage music was always my favorite and probably subconsciously shaped me into who I am.
Whoa
Takes me back to Christmas Day 1995. I got a ps1 and a demo disc that had this game and jumping flash on it. I immediately took my Christmas money and bought this game the next day after I played it on the demo.
This looks awesome. I am thinking of upgrading my SNES soon. Could be my first buy. Imagine what games will look like in 10 years time!!
lol You might wanna hold off on that ps1. I hear Sega's working on a new system that's about to kill the competition.
@@J-Hue Oh serious?? Going from my SNES to a Sega machine could be hard for me. But could be worth it for an awesome new Sonic game. Imagine how good Sonic would be on hardware even better than this new PSX!!!!
@@robertwilson3866 The Saturn came out already, but Virtua Fighter looks so old compared to Battle Arena Toshinden! Virtua Fighter 2 is meant to come out soon though, and it looks to be extremely impressive for an early game.
All of these are already out.
@@ColossalKilla “that’s the joke”
This was one of the earliest video games I can ever remember playing! This and Twisted Metal 2.
I remember playing this on the ps1 demo disk with my dad... aah the memories. I was around 4-5 years old, and now im 18. Time flies.
Hola guapo 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
And now you’re 23
I hope you're doing well at 24
im 25 and im doing great
duke's theme is arguably the best psx song ever made
Ive played this late 90s when this was released. But when tekken 2 was released ive become a tekken afficionado ever since.
I used to play the shit out of this when I was like five years old and I’ve been looking for gameplay footage of it forever now. Criminally underrated fighting game.
The soundtrack during the mondo fight brings back great memories. That song is fire until it gets cut off by EIJI’s NO PRABLAM 😂
I may have to grab this again! The music was epic!
Seeing Kayin again made me remember of all the raging moments I had as a kid when fighting him. That goddam Kayin and his dumb little song. Pissed me off so much. I miss that.
+ HumorLovinGuy
Kayin was my 2nd favorite character. Loved doing his rainbow kick combo.
Hahaha he made me destroy my controller when i was a kid
9:24 eiji falls duke is like im coming for you lol and he falls too hahah
I remember playing this in my local Toys R Us when it came out. This is the reason we bought a PS1
This game was lit asf back in the day 🙌🏾 so many fighting tournaments as a kid
it took me more than a decade to find the name of this game. I loved the music when I was kid. Now I finally found it :)
): i miss playing this game with my brother, it was such a good game and so entertaining, absolutely one of the best fighting games i’ve ever played
Ah, I was 9, first game I played on my first system, still remembers Fu's face first slide attack, down+triangle lol.
One of the best games ever :)
Lmao
What a bad game ... It was a terrible game... Un juego malísimo
One of the poorer fighting games on the system. I like the Japenese-ness of it though, and it was fun for a while - until better games were released.
not even in the top 5000 tbh
Tekken 3 has entered the chat
I love the ending credits music and the way he says no probLem
The Gaia's OST reminds me the imperial march from Star Wars. My favorite track, then comes Duke's.
Such a good soundtrack
Sofia's stage has the best music. HANDS DOWN
Man I spent YEARS trying to get aeris's music out of my head... Thanks a lot!
I remember my jaw hitting the floor the first time I played this game. It was the first PS1 game I ever played, and those 3D graphics were blowing my mind, lol.
I remember when this came out me and my best friend would play for hours and boy did this have a good soundtrack. People hate on this game but it was and still is a blast to play alone or with a good friend.
This game and Pandemonium. My first psx video games. Loved it, still rocks.
man i loved this game, forgot how slow it was
I might have been around 6-7 when I played this, so it surprised me how hard the nostalgia kicked in when I heard a few of the soundtracks
Oh my god he is actually using special moves!
You have no idea how rare that is.
No desperation moves though, would have loved to see those again...
And he finished on the hardest move. Kept going for that flame kick with an inch of lifebar and got a special move finish. I was gripped. I love this game
1995 when you popped this game in, you knew the era of Next Gen gaming had truly arrived...
You derped good at 9:30 XD. Such nostalgia, I had forgotten the name of this game

Old but gold ❤😌
such a weird and clunky game, but its so nostalgic for me .
I remember playing this game with my friend when i was younger, a really fun fighting game which i will probably have to purchase at some point to relive some memories :)
This series is so underrrated. This game should have had a proper remake (unlike the awful Wii game).
Nah it deserves to be forgotten
Nice joke btw
@@draconicslayer3593 persona fans are pedophiles
No remake and this doesn't need to be forgotten
So much nostalgia... I was really young when I played this game, I remember always using duke but I don't remember how ridiculously OP he is.
YEAH! Duke was my choice too haha
nice video brings back so many memories !
yyy
This and Wipeout were my first 2 PS1 games. Memories... =)
I'm just now noticing that Eiji has no shoes on.
I thought his shoes was skin colored lol
This deserves a remake! First game I played on ps1.
OMG YESS, I have been searching for the title of this game for years
I loved this game then, and I love this game now.
Kickass score
I remember playing this very young like 5 or 6, surprisingly duke was my favorite character to play
Love the soundtrack :)
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The music of Duke is wonderful
@@charlyregnier22 I am agree.
Used to have this this back in the day loved it
First game that make me crazy as a child. Back when I was young, it was only available on arcade machine in my local store. When my dad bought me PS1 and they make it available on PS1, I had no hesitate buying it at all. What really memorable for me the most is this game music. It is extremely good and give kind of unique 90s nostalgic vibe. The characters are also great. :D
I randomly thought about this game at midnight. I love this!
Very underrated fighting game
I must have been too young to appreciate the great soundtrack! Games like these spoiled me.
Omggg ive been trying to rememeber the name of this game. I used to rage so hard to this game lmao and wow the music is so lit 😂😂
Nice music vs Sho, that reference of Toccata and Fugue by Bach was very cool
takes me back. ps1 days
This was the first PlayStation game ever made
I forgot how much damage Duke's moves did.
And Gaia is still one of the best final bosses in fighting game history.
This, Ridge Racer, and Extreme games, will always hold a special place in my gaming heart ❤️
my very first Playstion game ever i have to pay my respect to this game, this and ESPN Xtreme Games introduce me to the Sony Playstation #90's
i played the demo on pc back in the day, i dint have a clue what i was doing but i LOVED it! damn i want to play it again
Man this brings back so many memories
Ahhh the nostalgia is strong with this one!!!.
I miss this game sooooo much! Sofia was my girl!
Thunder ringgggg.. rattlesnake lol
Yep....I loved this game for its music....good old 90s :D
One of my first games... good memories. It took years for me to figure out how to unlock Sho (battle after Gaia.)
I always found it hilarious when characters fell out of the ring in this game.
Toshinden, from Playstation's cradle days,
the Dawn of the Polygon era lies with this game,
Good to see it again
This game (especially its soundtrack) was awesome!
Although World-of-Longplays, you shouldn't have moved around as much as you did, hoping the computer was gonna ring out every round :p
this looks and runs WAYYYYY better than it actually did on the PSX when it was released. Imagine all those texture jittering and waving around all the time and the framrate being totally hitchy. That's getting close to what it was really like...
Also cripplingly long load times.
THIS game actually looks pretty good.
To this day when someone asks me to do something I say “No Problem” in the same cadence as this dude. Until today however, I had forgotten why!
I love how Eiji's size changes twice during his finishing pose, looks so silly.
inside gaming has a varied taste in games....
I just got My own Symbol a Headband/Bandanna since My Based Characters Who are Main Heroes wears Them.
I remember when we figured out that the background music was just a randomly selected CD audio track on the game disk, and you could swap the disk for another one after the bout started. It was so funny fighting to the sounds of Willie Nelson.
I always loved Toshinden when i was younger.
wow i remember playng this game 14 years ago...
THIS was THE game that made me get the 1st PLAYSTATION..🥰🥰😍😍😆I miss it..
This was fun back in the early PS days.
Wow i never knew there was a hidden character named SHO.
