Won't ever see again. Because in 2024 games don't make money, mobile apps do. Gaming industry has fundamentally changed since the 90s.

There is NO WAY that at least 60 games here is better than Syphon Filter trilogy, Toca 2, Bugs Bunny Lost in Time, Final Fantasy 6, Front Mission 3, GTA 1 and 2, Pro Evolution Soccer 2, Toy Story, Tomba 2, Resident Evil 3, Diablo 1, Duke Nukem Time to Kill, Broken Sword 1, Crash Bash and MANY more that didn’t come on my mind

Vandal Hearts is one of my favorite games on the Ps1. I'm not even mad that it's low on the list. I never see that game get any love, so even seeing it on a list among so many other great games is cool.

Thank you for mentioning MediEvil II. As I watched the list I was like "Please mention The Legend of Dragoon" And then it happened! So thank you for that also! LoD is my top favorite game of all time! It's music is one of the earliest inspirations as a kid, to be a musician for me.
This thing was truly next gen when it came out. The 3d graphics were a complete wonder to behold.
Its so impressive to see that the artistic choices of the developers in the 90s almost 30 decades still relevant and inspiring today
Tekken 3 was way ahead of its time 🔥
Ah, the PS1 era brings back memories of epic NFL Gameday showdowns and, of course, the unforgettable adventures with Crash. Those were the days, huh.

We got our PlayStation in 95 i think, by like 2001 we use to have to stand the machine just past verticle for it to work. Some games wouldn't load past the first 2 screens (the ps advert and the copyright warning) so would have to use another disk then swap them out just at the right time to load what you wanted to play. It was an art to get it to work after so many years.

There are so many great games on ps1 that even a top 300 list would be small to include all of them. I might do another top 100 !

i know alot of people forgot or never heard about this game but i gotta say that : Sheep raider aka sheep dog wolf is an underrated game 😢
Only thing here that made sense was metal gear at 1. But you really missed some bangers. Grand theft auto, syphon filter, fighting force , Area 51, need for speed hot pursuit, One, road rash 3d, jet moto, time crisis, vigilante 8, nfl blitz, mlb slugfest , army men 3D, wild arms , yugioh forbidden memories, dbz final bout.
Also twisted metal 4, fighting force, hercs adventures, gran turismo 2
NFS hot pursuit was sooo good

Not many people know about that game. Especially on the Playstation. I still have my copy and play it occasionally.

Wow…I only owned about a dozen games for PS1, but nearly all of them cracked your top 20.
You probably won't believe me, and that's fine, but I've played each one of these games and finished them 100% in the hardest difficulty (if available).
I love how most people's Top 3 are almost always SoTN, FF7, and MGS. They're certainly my top 3, as well, haha. Great to see Silent Hill so high up. Parasite Eve is my favorite game of all time, though I acknowledge the holy trinity as being the aforementioned three.

PS1 was playing Chess, while the N64 and the Sega Saturn were playing checkers.
Metal gear solid.. still the number one game ever made in my opinion ❤ Got my mgs1 premium package sitting nicely on my shelf as we speak... she watches over me whilst I sleep.

I remember getting my PS1 chipped and buying a bundle of 500 games for £20. There were all sorts including a porn game with real porn hahaa my 13 year old self was so happy. It was german and you had to play it by pressing the buttons in sequence, like guitar hero. Rubbing an ice cube on nipples was easy, just X, triangle, O, O, R2. But when it got to finger blasting, the "kit-kat" was so hard to achieve.

I sort of agree that Bloody Roar deserves a bottom ranking but I did not expect it to be that far at the bottom, considering it was sort of different interpretation of the Tekken-series of games. Final Doom makes sense to be at the bottom, I wish Quake 2 was near that rank also considering the fact that it almost is the same, although Quake 2 was slightly better. Rayman was definitely deserving the 97th rank, it's such a boring game, a snooze fest through and through, although it's a neat character and gameplay, it is just not enough to make that game exciting, other than for it's goofy nature. Cool Boarders 2 did not deserve rank 96th because it was the best version from the Cool Boarders-series, although I agree it did not have much other than fighting on snowboards, it was still a decent game. Destruction Derby 2 deserves a bit higher rank than 95th but I'm cool with that rank either way, it did not have much content other than racing and smashing into cars, but that's all the game was about. Pac-Man World did not deserve rank 89th, that game has so much replayability and fun, this game definitely deserves a higher rank, but if you feel this game deserve 89th then that's your opinion and I'm cool with that. Crash Bandicoot 2 at 87th is weird to me, that game deserves a much higher ranking considering it's part of one of the best PS1 games ever... but you do you. Mr. Driller at 84th makes no sense to me, that game deserves a bit higher rank in the list. It was released late into the PlayStation life span but offered tons of fun drilling down to the bottom, it was also a cute game. Bust A Groove was a very cool game that doesn't deserve 78th rank but for it's controls and responsiveness I would have to agree with you a hundred percent, but the game itself was really cool back in the day. WipEout 3 on 77th is a really low rank for such a amazing futuristic racing game.
To conclude, I respect the list, but some of these rankings makes no sense to me at all. I would make a list more appropriate to the quality of the games aswell was how enjoyable the games is to play, this list seems to ignore all the fine qualities of each game altogether. I'm not even sure what the ranking is based upon, is it personal liking of these games? or what is it judged based upon? would like to hear about that. I am interested in hearing what you think about that.
I wish more people could respect the value of each game though and how important some of these games were to many people. Some of the best releases are low ranked according to you, which I personally feel is strange, but I guess we all have our reasons to love certain games, so I'm not here to judge.
Not a bad list, but what about Tomba 2, Spyro 2, Gex 2, Gex 3, Bugs Bunny lost in time, Bugs Bunny & Taz time busters, Hogs Of War, Sheep Dog 'n' Wolf, Muppet Monster Adventure and a lot of others masterpieces? I think, the games that I listed will be much better than most of the games that are listed in this video

I would reduce the number of fighting games and add Syphon Filter, King's Field, International Moto X, Armored Core, Kula World and Micro Machines V3
Don't forget to stop by ps3 eshop to get a ton of ps1/ps2 games not available elsewhere.
Games that cost hundreds to over $1000 IRL for used copies for $6-$20 each on ps3 eshop.
I know its digital and physical media is best, but if there is no other option and for the sake of preserving gaming history.
Xenogears, Vagrant Story, all the Suikoden, Parasite Eve 1+2, old SMT/Persona, FF1-9, Tactics, Grandia , Mega Man Legends 1+2, Misadventures of Tron Bonne.
Take advantage of the ps3 eshop while it's up. I know emulation is an option, just saying in case.

Games peaked late 90s early 2000s and kind of went down hill since then bar a few exceptions. Today we get digital only , broken/incomplete, micro transactions ridden, open world/sandbox boring worlds. I’m glad emulation exists so kids today can go back and play some fun games versus what we have today. Don’t get me wrong I like Apex Legends, Fortnite etc but games have really lost their soul. Last game I played that gave me that feeling was Dark Souls games, Bloodborne, Hollow Knight, The Messenger cyber shadow…. Long live emulation!!!
