I have programmed my buttons for the correct amount for my cups - you just push and hold the button as it pours, and it sets it for the next time.
Just re-program the single and double buttons ! It's in the manual...

Thank you for this! I tweaked the time the button for double espresso dispenses coffee and I have similar results! Much better than the default settings. One Q tho, what’s the grind type you suggest?
We suggest grind for smeg to be slightly coarser than regular espresso grind used for other home espresso machines such as breville

Don't buy this machine. Absolutely waste of money. The grinder also doesn't grind fine enough for a espresso. Do not buy the smeg. I deeply regret it.
