I'm a chef and amongst other things I also teach. Every time I add a twist to a base recipe I tell them I'm adding 'Marty's secret sauce'. When they ask me what I'm talking about I just say " learn to play the blues man, you'll get it" Don't know how many players I've inspired but I've confused a lot of students!
i never had real guitarlessons. i only had your videos. but marty, i learned so much from you! i have everything i know, only from you. you are like my teacher...and now, i'm playing in a band! only by learning things from you. thanks so much marty. sorry for my bad english. i'm from germany greetings, Niklas
While working endless hours i have not as much time as i 'd like to exercise. You make it so easy to play the guitar. You're the best tutor Marty. Thanks so much
I realised while watching this that I've been using it without noticing! I made a mistake while playing and it sounded good, so I just kept experimenting, and now I know this is what I've been doing! Thanks for teaching me how to use it properly and consciously!
Many thanks Marty, i'm from Quebec, and you're the best teacher i never hab on web. You know how explain and show how to play and be a better guitar player, once again Thank you very much !!!
you changed my life dude! you change the way i play the guitar, you are awesome🤘 althought i not a good guitar player but someday i hope i will be! i love all of your lessons❤ infact you are the lick dude😎 greetings from india🎵🎸
Great lesson, as always! The best advice I ever got when I was beginning to think of leads (for blues and blues/rock) was to start with the pentatonic, and then look to other notes in the major or minor scale or to look at what is in the chord that isn't part of the root's pentatonic scale. The 9th and minor 6th are my favorites, but almost any note will do if you play it right :-) Thanks Marty!!!
Marty next week I hope that I will have time I'm going to learn this. I have moments that I don't play a lot, and you inspired me to go pick my guitar and play. Thank you I'm learning so much from you. Because of you I mentioned to play my fav 🎸 intro little wing. Thank you 😊
Just finished your great lesson on the Intro to Black Magic Woman. Now this. Such a simple addition but opens up so many possibilities. Thanks for another terrific lesson. 😎
Thanks for posting this! This stuff unblocked something in my learning / practicing of scales and solos, it's like "I get it now". By the way, watching the video was hypnotizing! Cool work!
Sounding Nice Marty. I started using this a while back. I fell on it by accident and thought cool this sounds great. I've been dropping it in as an extra and people love it. nice to find out that some of the Gods use it too. Cheers Marty.
Marty I've been learning from you since I started through all my irl guitar teachers you have been the one who has been the most help thank you with out u I would not be here
Great as always Marty. I was wondering if you would do a lesson highlighting some of your favorite chord progressions. And/ or some progressions that are good to loop along with scales used to solo over them. I've been using a loop pedal to practice lately and a lesson like that would do wonders for me. keep up the good work Marty. Your building quite the legacy on here man. Much love from the Pacific Northwest
Great teaching methods! Love your vids and so happy your doing your own thing. To everyone else get a Looper pedal! That with Marty's teaching will snowball your skills! Cheers, Rusty Sparks
Hey Marty, quick question. Regardless of the root note of the pentatonic scale you are using, you always add the natural E? And, if possible, can you clarify what you mean by natural E? Thank you so much for your lessons! They’re helping me out quite a bit!
Quick backing track would be cool, I dont have a looper yet and have not mastered bar chords but love this hybrid scale. I have been playing around with it without any backing.
That's the main motive Clapton uses on the Unplugged version of Layla. Thanks for explaining this. Until now I've used it without actually knowing what I'm doing.
Hey Marty, thanks for all your great lessons! You're the best online teacher there is. I have a suggestion for another lesson: Love buzz by Nirvana. Greetings from the netherlands
Thanks for another great class, Marty!! I've used those & similar progressions and never paid attention to what it was that I was actually doing. Now I'll have a clearer idea of what actually works for a sweeter riff. Sometimes I'd come off sounding like a drunken Allan Holdsworth on acid or something LOL
Great lesson as usual my man. I was watching an old video of you playing Scarlet begonias. It was just great. Can u please do a lesson for that? Saw dead & co recently amd have been getting into the dead with their mixaoydian stuff.
Hey Marty, I'm a little late to the party on this video, but I think it would be cool if you let the loop (Stapleton in this case) play at the end of the video for a few minutes so we can practice the technique over it! Thanks, keep up the great content!
Holy crap I just discovered this was the scale used by muse in "plug in baby" except the 7 was sharpened into a harmonic minor. I FIGURED OUT HOW MY FAVORITE GUITAR RIFF WORKS. Now I can use this technique. I'm advanced and I still didn't know about this.
I like this idea. I can play the modes as shapes, but it sounds too much like I'm playing a scale because I play too many notes. Less is better when you target the right notes! Thanks Marty. I will try this out. : )
Thanks for watching guys! Also free Mulit-Hour HD courses when you sign my newsletter at www.MartyMusic.com

Kevin
I wonder if Marty truly realizes how many people he inspires and teaches.
Hate it when this stuff comes out while I'm at work. All I want to do is go home and play now...
Ha, I hear ya on that!
Right
I'm a chef and amongst other things I also teach. Every time I add a twist to a base recipe I tell them I'm adding 'Marty's secret sauce'. When they ask me what I'm talking about I just say " learn to play the blues man, you'll get it"

You're the best tutor Marty.
Thanks so much
I just wanna say I'm so glad Marty Music came along. Thanks Marty
How… is this man not internationally recognized as a guitar god. That opening solo was transcendent.
This really made the pentatonic scale a lot more interesting. Thanks!
Don't know where my guitar skills would be without Marty.
Great lesson. Playing the ninths adds so much more to my soloing. That's the sound I have been searching for.
you changed my life dude!

That intro was silky smooth. Especially the last few seconds
I'm learning quite a lot from you, Marty, because I knew what you were doing in intro before you even explained it! You rock, sir!!
Damn this was one great lesson! Thanks again! You're a legend! Hands down the best channel on youtube!
Marty next week I hope that I will have time I'm going to learn this. I have moments that I don't play a lot, and you inspired me to go pick my guitar and play. Thank you I'm learning so much from you. Because of you I mentioned to play my fav 🎸 intro little wing. Thank you 😊
I love all your lessons, but this might be one of my favorites. Great concepts to play with. Thank you, Marty!

Gives it a bit of a Knopfler vibe. Sweet.
i was hearing Stephen Stills
Quick backing track would be cool, I dont have a looper yet and have not mastered bar chords but love this hybrid scale. I have been playing around with it without any backing.
Keep teaching us more like that!

I am so unworthy to learn at your feet, thank you Master!

Cool lesson. Love the sound of that chord progression with the soloing over it. kind of got lost when you started talking about the natural E stuff?
Always up for more flavor!
Thanks Marty. Slowly filling in the blanks between the areas of knowledge
Great lesson as usual my man. I was watching an old video of you playing Scarlet begonias. It was just great. Can u please do a lesson for that? Saw dead & co recently amd have been getting into the dead with their mixaoydian stuff.
