Not really. It does kind of just ruin Blob gameplay, and is an unintentional oversight that is easily exploited to completely curbstomp an already typically weak antagonist. It also can't be countered unless the person doing it actively tries to die
Blob is only weak vs wizard and ascended heretic magic bullshit everything else can be overcome if you stick to the right strains, livrah almost beat cargo exploiting the market for infinite money to buy infinite guns because he followed through my guide and started with networked fibers to spam so many nodes down before the blob announcement hit plus his first 2 blobbernauts offed themselves

Ive done remote control bots that I can talk through too aswell (but not sentient ones I can hear through thats a neat way to keep track of them similar to borgs) the point of this is you can see anywhere and everywhere as long as youve been there once c: I think the main issue with doing this too much with bots (sentient or not) is that they are very power hungry already.

To overcome the cooldown you could have different areas be connected to different assemblies, you have one thats linked to the security probes, one linked to the medbay probes, etc.
