I created an account and subscribed, spent the last two weekends planning and navigating extensive custom routes using Rever, I got a pretty good feel for the app and could tell you what you need to know.
Excellent web map to plan and create your custom rides, it will highlight and give you description of day trips that you can do in your area, as well as highlight on the map stretches of roads that are great for Motorcycles in your area, very inspirational and motivating to go exploring, roads near you that you would have never imagined.
But that is as good as it gets.
Then comes the nightmare, navigating those routes using Rever navigation GPS.
As the route progresses, the GPS gets lazy and slower keep up with the route to the point that the little triangle that represents your vehicle falls off the screen and then you have no visual guidance nothing to follow.
The only way to fix it is to stop on the side of the road to mess with it, kill the app and start over.
But even then it is impossible to fix it because now you are half way into the route and it doesn't react well when you try to skip a via point that you already left behind, a total mess.
Now let's say it is getting late, you not able to complete the whole route and you want to modify the route accordingly to make it shorter, but you at the gas station without your computer, all you have is your phone, well it is very difficult to use the phone app to edit a pre designed route.
You better off just start to create a new route from where you are to where you want to go.
Conclusion, don't waste your time and money on Rever.
Last but not least, if you sign up for the 14 days trial, which will automatically convert into a $50 yearly subscription, guess what, there is no way to cancel that subscription on the web or the app, I had to call them because days went by and they never answered my emails.
    Rever is a total scam.

I'm somewhat glad I didn't get a subscription now. I'll pin this comment for others to see.

I don't know, I use the old and sometimes annoying google maps. Never needed anything more than that, even on my way somewhere further away. I did have waze (I think it was called), sometimes better than google, though I'm not sure if you could plan your journey. Anyway, I'd always choose a place, go there, then choose another, and so on until my end destination. (I also have a proper GPS, I think it was tomtom). Anyway, thanks for the vid.

They all have their pros and cons. If Google Maps works for you then there is nothing wrong with that.

    Thanks for the review.
BTW. Have you filtered out the voice in post production or have you managed to have such clean voice some other way?

I re-recorded my audio after watching the video back, as I felt I hadn't explained things clearly while on the ride. Beyond that there is no post production.

@@slorida OK. Thanks for the clarification.

I use Calimoto for creating a route with the round trip routing feature should I not know where I want to ride and I just tap in a distance and I then export it as a GPX file and the import that into the Tomtom Go app and I've never had any issues at all with riding routes on my motorbike. I did and use the Calimoto app for an "all in one" solution but it weren't that reliable for navigation and by biggest issue was that despite trying numerous things I could never get the navigation voice instructions to overlay with music being played into my Schuberth Helmet which had a Sena unit built in...spent ages and ages trying to make it work only to find it that because of the audio profile that Calimoto use, it's not possible to tweak those settings when Bluetooth is being shared with another app....no such issues with Tomtom Go app👍🏻

I'll have to look into that app. Sounds promising.

@@slorida it works great for motorbike use, you can also select twisty routes on the Tomtom desktop route planner which seems to work in the same manner as the Calimoto routing by selecting quickest or more adventurous routes. The only thing which might deter people is that is cost me £19.99 a year to use the Tomtom app, I don't mind paying that in order to use it as it works fine for me and provides decent, clear unambiguous navigation and works great with music playback and speed and traffic delay warnings etc like you'd get on the Rider 550 motorbike GPS unit but on your smartphone. I sometimes use a cycle route planner if I want to ride a route of my own planning and import that into the Tomtom route planner which sync's automatically into the phone up. 👍🏻

£20 a year is a lot better than £40 for the full fat motorbike specific apps though.

How do you cancel a trial subscription with rever, I do not want it to renew into a year subscription and get charged.

      @@lokitomanny I didn't start a subscription so I'm relying on other sources.
If you subscribed on the iPhone app, go to your phone settings, click on your name/apple ID, click on subscriptions, find rever and cancel it there.
If you subscribed on the android app, go to the play store, tap on your avatar, then manage Google account, swipe over to payments and subscriptions, find rever and cancel there.
If you subscribed on the website, visit the subscription page of the website or email support @ rever .co (without the spaces obviously).
