Mr Fish's BOS Meet Up - The Unseen Bit
Was talking about this the other day. On our UK tour, for the most part when I planned the route, I picked roads that were fast but twisty. Shame really cos we missed a helluva lot of crackin scenery. Having said that, it was a Fuckin blast😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Excellent choice of music. I have taught you well. 😉😂
I love the views as I'm on my journey, I actually mentioned it to Ged that most of the time, I'm one for the journey. Though Long Mynd, amongst other places I've visited, was a delight to stop at and spend some time overlooking Church Stretton. But I totally get where you're coming from. It's always good to open up the throttle and get that adrenaline rush. Even if it's on a 50cc or a 125cc when it feels quick at 50mph, it's always a buzz 😊. Thanks for sharing, and see you on your next adventure 👊 🤙 🤘
@@IrelandRider Yeah, as I mention, I'm normally one for the views and the journey, but sometimes the feeling takes me in a different direction and it feels so good to be able to exercise it.
loved the vid, enjoyed Slorida craving for speed! 😂 In such days, I tend to go for hairpins, tight bends, twisties where even doing 30-50mph feels like flying, enjoying all the centrifugal forces and… ignoring completely all views, landscapes, just me, the bike and the road… 😀
@@place17adv I don't crave it all the time, but every so often it is such a good feeling. Twisting are definitely good for feeling speed without necessarily going fast.
first 😂
@@place17adv My first "first" comment. Now I know I've made it as a TH-cam star! 🤣
@@slorida lolz yes!
I spy George Formby's Norton at 10.16 in - by the wooden bench. 😉🪕
@@mysgreen It is indeed.
Ey up Lovely weather not, great cause though 👍
@@TheMatlockBiker Beautiful weather.....🤣🤣🤣
Strange way to get ya to park. I do like to go to museums like that one, Sammy Millers is good too.
@@tojj29 I thought that, but it did seem to be the most effective and not block people in.
Ey up For bikers of certain vintage, like myself, the NMM is a must visit. I’d say it’s up there with Sammy Millers Great views up there at Long Mynd on probably the last sunny day of the year
Haha, thanks for the pass on that turn Stu, 😆. What others won't know watching this is that the sun hit my visor at exactly the point I came to the junction and in my ear it said right then left (not being able to see my phone and Google maps i listened to the instructions). I have to admit, I think I preferred the ride out to Long Mynd and the views there than the motorcycle museum. The day as a whole was great tbh. Thanks for sharing, and see you on your next adventure 👊 🤙 🤘
I'm a leper! Shame I was busy for this ride. The first road, the one way one, was my Biking Back road for the motovlog challenge. I don't like going to Matlock on a weekend because it gets too busy and you might bump into @LoneWalllyUK. You won't be alone for the meet up, so long as I am free.
I'd love to make the social ride, dates and times allowing 👍
@@NooBikerThen I shall sort something out and let you know dates and times
Nice ride buddy good to see you again, thanks for mention 👍🏻👍🏻
The A6 Buxton - Bakewell is great as long as you don't get caught behind traffic at 30. You left the crunch in good lad. Some right dodgy bikes at 24:35. A nic surprise I've been called worse.
Yeah, it's rare to get a clean run all the way along the A6. Some very dodgy bikes at that point.... 🤣🤣🤣
Does it have rain radar?
@@jeremyfranklin4408 Not that I am aware of, no.
Maybe there's some clue there about what filtering on an RT is like 😱 I see that cafe manages to be open when you take your _Honda_ buddies there.... Social ride good; Matlock Bath traffic bad. I'd probably do the usual Premier Inn malarky, due to mornings not being a real thing in my universe.
The RT is a bit of a barge though. I guess they just don't like you. 🤣🤣 I don't intend taking a social ride into Matlock Bath fortunately. I'd probably not start too early anyway, so even you would have time to get up. 🤣🤣
I hate it when you have to keep stopping because somebody wants a ciggy 🚬.😅 pmsl. I agree with Ged. I'm up for another ride out, and im not being sarcastic when i say this, but you planned the last ride out really well, thanks again. it was also good to have local knowledge from TheMatlockBiker. So as ive said before, I'm deffo up for it 😉. Thanks for sharing and see you on your next adventure 👊 🤙 🤘
Ciggy breaks are the worst aren't they.... 🤣🤣 A break every hour is probably about right anyway.
@slorida smokers should be banned 😆. I agree that a break every hour or so is about right in the UK 🇬🇧.
Ey up We were lucky with the weather, cool but dry I’d be up for an early 2025 Rideout somewhere Cheers
Maybe in the Summer....
@@throttle_up I'm thinking April, May or June, so not exactly winter. 🤣

@@dalechamberlain7767 locked up at home. It needs some work over the winter so I'm not using it as much as I might like to.
Brave idea for a social ride, I'd be up from Devon & try to drag some others along😎
@@davidhawkins120 It is a fair way to travel, but you'd be very welcome.
I'd be there if you did a ride out, so that'd make at least 2 of us lol. I see what you and Ged meant now about my lights appearing bigger than they are when we pulled into that cafe. I'd definitely like to do that ride again a little bit slower to get the views and when the sun is out 🌞 ☀️. Thanks for sharing and see you on your next adventure 👊 🤙 🤘
@@IrelandRider I'm sure we can arrange a time to do it again. The lights aren't blinding, but they definitely are bright.
Ey up Weather didn’t look too bad according to your vid, in reality it was cold Shame Tin Hut was closed, we could have used the time for a longer catch up Once again thanks for invite 👍
You're welcome. It was a shame about tin hut, but nevermind, I'll find a better spot for next time.
haha that gent at 5:40 who was spinning and spinning and the engine landed literally just next to him 😀👋👍 that would have been me if I was there too 😂
@@place17adv Not sure I'd have a got it that far.... 🤣🤣🤣
Some cracking camerawork there. I'm even on the Thumbnail. Fame!, Infamy! Very laconic delivery tho' poss a bit too laconic maybe? 😉
I think the cameras do most of the work.... 🤣 I'm not very good at verbose delivery, so I do tend to be a bit laconic, something to continue to work on.
@@sloridakeep that laconic delivery, it’s your signature, and the radio broacaster lazy voice! 😀 loved it… and there was music and dancing… 😂
Cracking rally and over £5300 raised for Cornwall Hospice Care. Thanks for filming my epic moves.... I think! 😀
That is a good result. Glad to hear to raised do much. Your epic moves deserve to be on the Internet. 🤣
@@slorida 😀
My brain does this thing where it asks "How can this possibly go wrong?", usually because I want to predict and prevent anything going wrong. Can you guess which bit of the video caused that part of my brain to explode? It was, at least, funny to watch some of the participants succumbing to the laws of physics. But enough about the dancing, how about that engine-throwing competition, eh?
🤣🤣 There was a chap who stood as a target for some throws, fortunately those people couldn't throw very far.
We called into that old tin mine when we were down there, lovely area all around there.
Enjoyed that ride, thanks👍
Shit video this… can’t see a damn thing
I'm 5 minutes from Exeter services. Been here since before the M5,sandy gate roundabout and granada. Thanks for this, I have a Harley and had forgotten why I quit riding out with other people.
Group riding is much easier when you know the people you are riding with, and know how they ride. I tend to avoid riding with people that I'm not comfortable with, but this was a ride where I didn't know people and that is probably the most risky group riding can be.
Motorways do my head in. Welcome to the sunny south😂😂😂
@@tojj29 I do often try to avoid motorways, but on this occasion it was the more sensible option.

Hi bit late just found this i have a 2016 nc 750s , i had a fight with a pothole and had to have new rear suspension and other work costing £2500 , and before that i neede new rear wheel bearings. I love the bike i ride it on long trips the best mpg was 101 for a 75 mile single way trip i have done plenty of longer rides at 85 mpg . My only criticism of this bike is the seat i did 300 + miles on my gsx and did not feel as.bad on my bum as 30 miles.on this i am a.keen cyclist so started using my cycling shorts too see if they will help anyadvice .my next expense will be a new chain .
@@andrionusthemage1016 Wow, you got really unlucky with that pothole. I know people have said it's a hard seat, but honestly I don't have a problem with it. I often joke that I have a padded backside though. I know you can get additional cushions and soft padding from third party companies (and even Wish!), but I haven't bought any. That a Cb500f?
@@steve00alt70 I was on an NC750S.
Where you say "I am not enjoying this, one little bit." I say "fibber". You will remember that ride.
@@alanflint7732 I have been down that road a couple of times now, and it is a good road, lovely scenery, I would never say otherwise, but with the rain and the strong crosswinds, no, I was not enjoying it. I will remember it, that is true, but not because it was a good experience that day.
No sense being miserable in the rain when you are out there on the bike, miles from home, having an adventure. I had this thought to myself riding from Provence in the south of France to Dijon. It was blowing a gale and 'umping it down. And I had been in a soggy tent overnight. It was February 2016 and I was cold and miserable. Then I had that thought. When will I ever be on this road again, with the time all my own? Enjoy it. It's just an experience. Make the most of it while you are still able.
At least the weather was pretty decent for you.
Considering it was Scotland, I had agood week, but the weather on the last day was crap. 🤣
I've never understood why people describe rain as miserable, horrible, disgusting or any other derogatory word. I love rain. It's atmospheric, it's dramatic, it's moody, it's also life-giving. Without it you'd be dead very very quickly.
I guess it's a matter of perspective.
You've done well to battle thro that weather. Having that lorry in your mirrors reminded me of the film 'Duel' ! Take care and ride safe.
You could get a Shark helmet that has those front led lights on them. Do you have strips of reflector tape at the front of the bike? To make you as wide and big as possible
@@steve00alt70 I'm not sure reflector tape would have made much of a difference here, because of the weather, but no I don't have it on. I might consider it for future though. I'll have a look for that helmet, see what it's like.
Ey up @19:18 …..shite that was close, even I steered left and I was only watching 😱 We’re just getting our kit together for a camping trip to the Lake District leaving Tuesday 24 September. Our plan is to ride the top 6 Passes in one day. Weather looks bleak so we’re hoping for a break in the rain Si thee
@@TheMatlockBiker It was a bit scary for sure. The Lakes has its own weather system, but I hope it isn't too damp for you. I presume there will be a video for it.
@@slorida I should explain, I’m not a vlogger like your good self. Some years ago I started watching YT videos and wanted to comment on a couple, but of course as you know you have to register to be able to do that. Towards the end of the “sign up” I was asked to come up with a nick name. To my surprise TheMatlockBiker wasn’t taken so went for it. YT then confirmed I had a TH-cam channel……I thought “I didn’t want a TH-cam channel” 😂😂 but had some videos I recorded some time ago so uploaded them just to go through the process to see what was involved and here I am
@@TheMatlockBiker Fair enough, in that case I hope you have a good day out.
Ahhh, the good old Scottish weather!! Good it wasn't at the beginning of your tour. Nothing worse than having soaking wet gear strewn around your hotel room all night. That A861 is a lovely road, but good sensible choice to go the way you did in that weather. What an absolute cnut that twat was in that car overtaking towards you. There's only one thing that happened there, he/she was a cnut, simple as that. I agree with the theory about the lights, but they were still a cnut. Shame about the weather as I say, but it does give Scotland a different type of viewing pleasure, such as the waterfall in Glencoe. loved this tour, great stuff bud.
@@tojj29 I'd have been turning back for home if that was day one. 🤣 I don't think the coffee shop were too happy with the lake I left behind while I waited for check-in time, but it definitely was the better decision. I think that is an apt description of the driver. Glad you enjoyed the videos, the next tour series is not far away.
Some epic scenery there.
