I started walking 2 or 3 miles a day. I am taking fish oil that has DHA in it, methylate B12, D4 k2 and tudca everyday. I am feeling better everyday. I am also going to bed earlier. I practice meditation abd yoga. I had acute cholecystitis and had my gallbladder removed. I had chronic pain from chronic gallbladder pain. I am hoping my Lipo B goes down. I don't eat grains, dairy or soy. I also eat fermented foods and Kombucha. I went off processed food and stopped eating sugar. I am trying to get my cholesterol down. My ratio is normal and my triglycerides are normal, but my Lipo B is high. I do intermittent fasting couple times a week.
I don’t have a sweet tooth but recently added in highly processed gels and drinks on my long run day training for an ultramarathon. Aside from all of the running I am doing I wonder how to ameliorate this one day of added sugar as I specifically think about what is happening to my micobiome. I eat a lot of veggies and legumes so hopefully that’s helping.
i have reduced and kept very low my CRP (marker for inflammation) for 10 years by using purified omega 7 (provinal) and of course diet. but even without changing my diet in the beginning my CRP went from .5 (high end of normal) to less than .3. with attention to diet my CRP has remained ~.2….
I thought it was pretty much decisive that time restricted feeding has no benefits beyond mere caloric reduction, and that any study that actually corrected for caloric intake showed no further benefits to shrinking the window in which they are consumed. In other words, the lowered inflammation of time restricted feeding was probably just due to fat loss on account of reduced caloric intake.
@@cheryltyler7642 Point being that it's not about the time of day that one consumes their meals. It's just about total calories. Meaning you don't actually have to skip any meals.
I’m not fine on any supplemental dose of omega 3. I’m 35 and have had Afib for 2 decades. I’ve tried different doses and different brands - same result every time
...And so maybe the question is: Is the inflammation chronic or acute ? Essential to follow Dr. Rhonda ! Absolute negation is not necessitated. Highly increased CRP biomarker demonstrates downright dangerous. SPM's are a great new frontier to endeavor. In the meantime, Omega 3's, sulforophane, time restriction eating to giving your digestive track that rest, increases in norepinephrine, are crucial that aren't the overdone nullification.
Have been using sugar water for cycling fuel, it’s excellent. What about raw sugar? I live this list except the sauna part, to avoid inflammation, so crap. If raw sugar is no better, I’ll cut it out and find some other sweets-I’ve heard dates are great for energy, so there’s another option. Thanks so much great info as always. Cali love, baby!
Thanks for this video 😊.. I've never experienced inflammation until this yr. I've been trying to cut out sugar all together and no more pop even diet. I screenshotted the list already 🤑.
Best thing you can do form dietary standpoint to stop or slow inflammation is to do a strict elimination diet (Carnivore) then slowly being back foods after few months to see what has been causing you irritations.
What is the name of the study with the 20oz of sugar sweetened beverage? This seems to be in conflict with everything Layne Norton says about sugar and inflammation. Thank you. Edit, were calories equated for this study or did the people consume an extra 2 cokes a day on top of their regular calories? There's a huge difference.
Beef has omega 6 I eat a small amount of plants but i don't think i need big salads or huge amounts of fruit. I used to eat like that and i got hives all the time
Question: it is easier for me to time-restrict my eating by starting later. Are you arguing that, if I don't time-restrict my eating by stopping earlier, my body will be in less of a position to repair while I am sleeping (as I am assuming that my body will do more repairing while sleeping vs. when I am awake)
Thank you,Dr.Rhonda. Could you let us know how to choose a quality form of Omega-3? buying the wrong form of supplement is waste of money. So many people are taking the suboptimal magnesium oxide instead of a more bioavailable forms
A good high quality Curcumin supplement should definitely be on the list, probably top 3. I do time restricted eating, roughly 8-10 hour window of eating, I still eat before bed sometimes within an hour, I still do a moderate amount of sugars, but am a high level athlete and workout maybe 10-13 hours weekly very intense. I’m 43 and my crp and other inflammatory markers are so low in my bloodwork they’re almost off the unmeasurable. So while I do some of this I still consume moderate sugars and have numbers that low. I would credit that to exercise, fasting, and Curcumin in that order. Number 4 would be a NMN or NR supplement. And the most important that makes all this go is good sleep and sunlight, if you’re working third shift and want low inflammation you need a new job or schedule.
Im 37 im %16 bodyfat im in good shape. I sleep well. And have sugar sweetened drinks every single day. My bloods are checked every year all my markers are good. And i get a dexa scan done each year. I cant see any bad results.
Are you male or female? All I can say is that will catch up to you and it happens QUICK. From your description I was similar but once I hit 50s,menopause, everything changed in about a year. Inflammation high, and blood sugar high. On the outside you couldn't tell but if I continued on that path it would have been a quick downhill slide. Cutting carbs and sugar dramatically dropped both those. I was even getting joint pain and that's gone to. If you're male it will also catch up to you at 50. They don't call age 54-56 widow maker years for nothing. At a certain point your body can no longer do what it did in 30s/40s. You damage that mitochondria.
You are young and it will catch up to you. Sugar is seriously damaging to your pancreas and your cardiovascular system . So you will be F ed . Btw I’m 71 and don’t eat sugar
I’ve become a bit confused on fish oil supplement since this headline came out: “New research from the Smidt Heart Institute shows more than 1 gram of fish oil a day can increase risk of atrial fibrillation” How do we know whether we should or shouldn’t take it as a supplement (eating salmon etc seems to be just fine, just the supplementation)? The study basically says if known heart disease, the can take it, but it you don’t have heart disease it increases risk of AFIB. wish someone would do a thorough followup study so we mere mortals could have some marching orders.
I can give you the answer from personal experience. 35 years old with Afib for 2 decades. Every dose or brand of supplementation results in increased Afib episodes. I can eat any amount of an actual salmon without any of these same issues. If you ask me, it probably points to quality issues in supplementation
Is sulfurophane a tolerable form for those who have chronic gastrointesinal issues? I am not able to tolerate consumption of any cruciferous vegetables and I experience immediate inflammation/bloating. It's unfortunate as I am aware of the alleged benefits.
I know there could be an infinite series of “what about me” but I don’t drink soda and HFC is different from regular white sugar in how quickly it’s taken in and absorbed, right? What if you’re a guy that eats a cookie or a donut once or twice a week? Maybe chocolate croissant. Three sweets a week, max. Baked goods. I am deluding myself that it’s different? Obviously quantity and frequency matters but can we extrapolate from this soda study or would a whole new study be needed?
Are broccoli spout extract supplements advisable to take daily? (For those that eat veggies but want augment due to likely not eating 4 to 5 cups of broccoli/cabbage etc every day)
what is a healthy amount of sugar for a 60 year old man to eat a day . 0 is not possible for me 😊. also what about if i have cardiovascular disease . how much can i have?
@@Breezeyogi thank you. It's just hard to appreciate it when your body hurts. But you are right. I've changed my lifestyle because it scared me to think it was permanent
Don't eat sugar and processed foods. Make sure you're not deficient in vitamin d,k2,magnesium, potassium zinc. And you exercise. And sleep. You do that then your body can handle other factors of inflammation. Just don't want chronic inflammation.
Dr Gregor said on a podcast that there was a study showing fish oil/ Omega 3 didn't decrease inflamation?? I was shocked when I heard that. Have you heard or seen any data to support this? It's in his podcast: Fighting the Blues with Greens and it's around the 3min 50 seconds area where he talks about this.
Dr. Gregor is heavily biased, will frequently cherry-pick studies, misinterpret and jump to conclusions prematurily. Kinda sad, would love me some more unbiased and objective vegan resources. Not that I'm a vegan but I like to get different views.
I've seen lost of YT regarding inflammation but how do you know you have inflammation, what are the symptoms. I am 70 and would like to know if I have any form of inflammation. I understand if you cut yourself you get inflamed.
Chronic Inflammation and Acure Inflammation are two different things or events. A way to think about it is Acute Inflammatuon protects you while Chronuc Inflamation harms yiu and is the enemy. An example of Acute Inflammation would be when a scab forms on your leg after you fall or cut yourself - Inflammation is your bidues defense and protection and healing response at the sight of the injury. Chronic Inflammation is technically the same response but it is when the Inflammation response DOES NOT turn off. Rheumatoid Arthritis is an example of Chronic Inflammation. Think of it as the bodies immune response on steroids and it won't turn off. Very dangerous. You can check fir Inflammation by getting a Crp or C reactive protein test. They're cheap at Labcirp and don't require a prescription from a doctor.
Dr. Patrick, I am very healthy, follow a pescatarian whole food diet and avoid refined sugar altogether and workout 6x per week, but was just diagnosed with a sheath tumor inside my main nerve that runs down my lower body and surgery to remove it could leave me unable to walk properly as it would likely damage the nerve. But the tumor is growing and bothers me. It presses against the nerve and causes discomfort and pain I already take sulforaphane and black seed oil and turmeric and cbd. Is there anything else I can take to help reduce or shrink a tumor in terms of inflammation etc?

Glad the Doc mentioned
MOringa Powder ❤
Also good quality olive oil and cocoa, maybe even berries like blueberries is good suplement
What if you get the omega-3s from your regular diet - will that also reduce inflammation?
Absolutely. That's the preferred way always thru diet but some people don't like the foods. You need 3-4 grams daily.
I eat salmon 3 times a week because I love it and the other 4 days I drink lemon water with 2 tablespoons chia seeds. I thought it was going to be gross but it's not. It's similar to lemon pulp or pomegranate seeds. It's not slimy like I thought it would be😂
Already spending a lot on the three magnesium glycinate, d3,k2. Collagen powder that's been incredible in stopping knee pain😂
I think that it would be interesting to hear Dr Rhonda Patrick's thoughts now on the experimental innoculations causing inflammation
Outstanding, thank you Rhonda!
Best thing I have ever added to my DMO for health is a Balance Oil after taking a dry spot test and seeing my 3 and 6 way out of balance. 1 tbls a day has done wonders.
One of the best videos I’ve seen on health, thank you
Rhonda how is Castor oil helpful to our bodies?
Rhonda please talk about parasite infestation and inflammation ....thank you for sharing and educating all that you have worked so hard to learn , God's blessings to and your family
Where’s list if her fav sulforaphane supps
Great vid. Thank you Rhonda. You delivered the details in a way that many people can grasp in a meaningful and useful way. Will share.
Thank you Rhonda!
i have reduced and kept very low my CRP (marker for inflammation) for 10 years by using purified omega 7 (provinal) and of course diet. but even without changing my diet in the beginning my CRP went from .5 (high end of normal) to less than .3. with attention to diet my CRP has remained ~.2….
Does added sugar in particular cause inflammation, or any food with high glycemic index, like white rice, beer, ...?
All sugars.
@@wengjai White rice doesn't have sugars though.
@@StackedCrookedstarches break down into sugars in the body
@@EneEri all carbs do. Hence my question.
Thank you for the info.❤
What do you think of kombucha ?
I thought it was pretty much decisive that time restricted feeding has no benefits beyond mere caloric reduction, and that any study that actually corrected for caloric intake showed no further benefits to shrinking the window in which they are consumed. In other words, the lowered inflammation of time restricted feeding was probably just due to fat loss on account of reduced caloric intake.
Still sounds like a positive to me
@@cheryltyler7642 Point being that it's not about the time of day that one consumes their meals. It's just about total calories. Meaning you don't actually have to skip any meals.
What about the association of high omega 3 and atrial fibrillation
Keep your dose under 1000 mg. and you should be fine.
I think she addresses this in a pretty recent video
I’m not fine on any supplemental dose of omega 3. I’m 35 and have had Afib for 2 decades. I’ve tried different doses and different brands - same result every time
Omega 3 comes from algae. Find algae to supplement
Sulforaphane vs moringa ?
I want to know the same thing
Moringa is king
Sugar is the worst addiction. I found quiting smoking easier.
me too! 🤪
Yep. It's everything everywhere.
I love your podcast, but can you emphasize on intermittent diet for adult over 60 years old❤
How do you feel about Allulose and the metabolic benefits from this sweeetner?
Always great advice ❤
What about magnesium?
yes
I use magnesium citrate to keep my gut moving well, it works the best for that of all the ones I've tried, It has pretty high bioavailability
I use magnesium bisglycinate 😊
...And so maybe the question is: Is the inflammation chronic or acute ?
@@dylan.-6527Yep.
It's the same molecule.
Amazing list, thank you rhonda
Yes Tumeric + black pepper!
I have a friend who has an inferared near/far sauna that she loves.
What do you think about those?
Trying to decide if it's worth 2-3k for it??
Didnt layne say sugar doesnt cause inflammation or health issues when cals are controlled
Carnivore changed my life! ❤
Should we take SPM supplement directly or increase OMEGA-3 intake?
Durianrider begs to differ on the refined sugar.
How about being very active? Do u still remove sugar?
Is joint damage/injury inflammation to be dealt with the same way as these system types of inflammation?
What is practical ( home shower or bath) practice for heat?
Thanks for this video 😊.. I've never experienced inflammation until this yr. I've been trying to cut out sugar all together and no more pop even diet. I screenshotted the list already 🤑.
The problem with cruciferous vegetables is IBS 😳
what omega 3 supplement do you use? Thanks
Is Moringa important to take for this??
Yes
Best thing you can do form dietary standpoint to stop or slow inflammation is to do a strict elimination diet (Carnivore) then slowly being back foods after few months to see what has been causing you irritations.
What is the name of the study with the 20oz of sugar sweetened beverage? This seems to be in conflict with everything Layne Norton says about sugar and inflammation. Thank you. Edit, were calories equated for this study or did the people consume an extra 2 cokes a day on top of their regular calories? There's a huge difference.
@FoundMyFitnessClips could you please share this study? I can't find it.
Just Crickets...? Seriously, can anyone point me to this study?
Beef has omega 6
I eat a small amount of plants but i don't think i need big salads or huge amounts of fruit.
As I am the leading Vitamin D Deficiency Channel - VITAMIN D IS MY GO TO FOR KEEPING INFLAMMATION DOWN !
Sunlight > vitamin D supplementation
but isnt sugar carbohydrate? how can body differentiate between forms of carbs
Thank you,Dr.Rhonda. Could you let us know how to choose a quality form of Omega-3? buying the wrong form of supplement is waste of money. So many people are taking the suboptimal magnesium oxide instead of a more bioavailable forms
Cruciferous veg is anti thyroid for those hypothyroid. Boil or Steam to Curb. Or sup
Dropping gems
What about Alfalfa sprouts? I eat these
I just ate the Cereal "Raisin Bran" and it was almost overly sweet. (I've gotten used to eating food with little to no sugar)
Does DMSO reduce inflammation?
What is NMN and NR?
@@fmastore Nicotinamide mononucleotide/nicotinamide riboside

I’ve become a bit confused on fish oil supplement since this headline came out: “New research from the Smidt Heart Institute shows more than 1 gram of fish oil a day can increase risk of atrial fibrillation”
How do we know whether we should or shouldn’t take it as a supplement (eating salmon etc seems to be just fine, just the supplementation)?
The study basically says if known heart disease, the can take it, but it you don’t have heart disease it increases risk of AFIB. wish someone would do a thorough followup study so we mere mortals could have some marching orders.
Don't go over 840 mg dose is the recommendation.
Thank you for taking the time to reply. Can I ask where you found/head that number, so I can do some research? Thanks again.
I can give you the answer from personal experience. 35 years old with Afib for 2 decades. Every dose or brand of supplementation results in increased Afib episodes. I can eat any amount of an actual salmon without any of these same issues. If you ask me, it probably points to quality issues in supplementation
Green tea is also really good.
Obviously quantity and frequency matters but can we extrapolate from this soda study or would a whole new study be needed?
cholesterol testing is relatively cheap. test yourself now (that's ur baseline) and then cut them out for a month and test again.
Are broccoli spout extract supplements advisable to take daily? (For those that eat veggies but want augment due to likely not eating 4 to 5 cups of broccoli/cabbage etc every day)

Is fish oil like Möllers a good omega3 supplement?
14:53 Thank you for this helpful video! Indeed I got to admit, 14g of cruciferous vegetables per kg bodyweight per day are quite a bit😄
I took it and it tore up my stomach bad GERD for days.

THC could potentially help. I wish you the very best

No! Get the surgery before it causes permanent nerve damage!!!
@@BestLifeMD The doctor told me removal would likely result in an inability to ever walk properly again and I’d never be able to run. She advised against surgery unless I absolutely can’t function anymore and the pain becomes too much.
