Holy Cow, this is great, I have never paid attention to my iphone as a camera and just searched youtube for "macro photography with iphone 13 pro max". I have to rethink everything now. My phone has been my tool for calling, texting and viewing the internet. Have I been living under a rock? Subscribing now.

And what if I turned on macro shooting, but I can't shoot 4k video in the macro. He just doesn't focus. Help me please. It works only on 0,5x zoom(4k 60) but if I turn on 1x zoom it’s not focus

Thanks for the video some very useful tips. I have the iPhone 12 pro max - For macro photos best to use the 2.5 lens not 0.5 and get the subject focussed then press the 2.5 on the iPhone and a dial will appear and then you can dial in the zoom to get very close.

That ultra wide lens trick works so well, thank you! it can even work on filmic pro which can allow you to lock exposure only. I couldn't figure out how to only lock exposure on native cam app.
Edit: you might not be able to get as close shots on filmic pro as you can on native but you can get some close enough shots

for pictures i just cant get sharp photos iphone 12 pro. my phone is in standard settings (never adjusted anything before). problem is i need to take sample pictures of spices like small seeds. i dont know what to do

I have turned on the setting of disable auto switch btw macro but whenever i try to take mirror or other pictures it makes the camera blurry and it makes us to switch to macro to remove blurriness whyyy😮😢😢😢😢

Hi, what attachment did you use for the phone? The one included with the manual slider isnt good. Yours is higher up so you can avoid catching the slider in videos

What "settings" are you using?
I followed along and my videos have tons of grain and noise .
Especially if I used ANYTHING other than the 0.5 lens
Noticed by camera settings were set on Formats > High efficiency and mac control on for camera

That’s the same settings that I’m using. the only thing I can recommend is lots more light. make sure you’re filming at 4K 30 frames per second. If you wanted to try to squeeze a little bit more performance out of the camera you can go to phone settings, go to camera, go to formats and turn on Apple ProRAW. other than that I’m not sure what to tell you, everything that I know I put into this video.

When I try to make a video in macro mode, the camera somehow does not switch from the normal lens to the macro lens, even though I have turned on the macro control. Can someone help me?

Sadly no. It only works on 13pro and 13pro max
Does Apple have any plans to allow us to control which lens we are using outside of video? I've returned an iPhone 12 and bought an iPhone 11 over a 13 because the 8+ and 11 has better close up image quality. I take lots of flower and insect photos with my phone. I did extensive testing on my spouses 13 compared to my busted 8+ and the 8+ was vastly superior for close up photography.
The 13 does not have macro. only the 13 Pro and 13 pro max. It would be nice if they gave us total manual control over which lens were using but no idea if they’ll ever do it

No I don’t take a photo with zoom. It is just a video. I was saying if you are taking photos you can tap to focus but if you are taking videos don’t tap to focus just let the phone auto focus

I use high efficiency. I don’t know that there’s a difference in picture quality
