This guy, and practically all his videos, is probably one of my favorite car enthusiast, repair, and educational people on this medium. He's a regular guy (and smart) and generously offers his immense knowledge, skills, and opinion for enlightenment and group benefit. I look forward to every one of his updates. Fantastic guy with a terrific channel!
Parts from FCP Euro are the best! I just got an entire truckload of stuff for an upcoming build! By the time we're out of quarantine we'll collectively have saved a few million dollars in dealer service prices by DIYing our projects!
E55 wagon forsure. Honestly, thank you Alex for this channel. I always loved and wanted the early 2000's E55 AMG, but I've always shied away from owning one because of repairs.
Alex I’m so sorry you (and everyone else in the world) have to socially distance. That being said, I was so pleased to hear you’re back to fixing your own cars in your own garage. This is what brought me to your channel in the first place, and I would be thrilled for you to do more of this OG content. Keepin in simple!
Alex thanks for the hook up on the Kove Commuter 2 Bluetooth speaker! That is ONE HELL OF A DISCOUNT!! Also, I glad you found a worthy Merc to work on!
Anyone want to see Alex work on a regular M113? Hey Alex, if this comment gets a good number of likes, can I ship my CLK500 to you for some maintenance videos? 🙏
This is so helpful! I wanted to do the flex disk and the injectors on my R63, but there aren’t many (any?) videos of someone working in the engine bay - I knew that black cover had to come off!
You should make a video about the E63 5.5 Biturbo engine and the newer 4.0 Biturbo. Things to know, reliability, maintenance cost ect. Love your videos!!
Damn, took me 5 hours to replace the injectors on my 1.6 citroen 😂 replaced them for bigger ones to run on e85, turns out they were too long to fit but i made it work, was my first time working on my car too besides oil changes
Great video Alex! Been watching your videos for a while now, but fairly new subscriber. Regular car guy here(owned many new/old cars, both fast and slow), but recently picked up our first MB a 16' CPO C300 4Matic Sport/AMG package car. I work for a German company, so most every time I traveled there for work, I had a MB for a rental and was always impressed with them. Anyways, I also try and do most of my own wrenching....I feel like I'm starting off on a new journey learning all there is on the new MB. Watching your videos makes me want to find an older one to tinker on as well. Keep up the awesome work!
I used to replace the rubber flex discs on a Ford Granada MK3 Diesel. After much swearing at the owner to get a UJ installed instead of the crappy rubber joint he finally went with my idea. Happy days :-)
The amount of stuff that needs repairing on these vehicles boggles my mind. My last vehicle, a 2009 Isuzu Dmax did 385,000km and needed a turbo coolant hose. It still drove quite nice. European vehicles need a astonishing amount of regular repairs
I prefer tightening all bushings when car is on the wheel, seams like that bushings also need that! It’s so fun spending money on new parts toys for bigg boys 😀
@legitstreetcars any plans to do this similar sort of work to an M177 engine in the near future? I'd love to be able to follow your content for the this sort of maintenance on my own AMG!
My favorite videos on this channel is Alex actually doing some dirty work 😂 I thought I've seen it all but that Mercedes hose clamp proprietary tool is something else!
Alex when will you get into camshafts, cam adjusters and lifters?? Bro really need it!! Just to check if they are in good shape or even replacement!! Thank you man!
I did wonder - if you fitted new FCP Euro injectors (with their lifetime warranty!) and one DID happen to stick open, hydrolock and destroy the engine in the way you described - would FCPE replace the entire engine, or just the faulty injector?? Just an idle thought!!
I learned what a flex disc is in this video & i do hear a slight knocking in the rear of my car ever since i took out the back seats. i went to go look under my clk55 & the rear one is rusted and has minor cracks.. the front one has cracks as well. I love my car but man she's expensive to maintain, if you're looking for a used AMG make sure you look out for little thing like that. I just replaced the two front struts on my car and it came out to 1,700$ parts and labor, i needed a new key cause i bought a car that didn't lock. it's push to start so that was a good 400+, i got aftermarket rear brakes and pads that were 400$ at RDBLA. stock was 600$. i'm resealing the right oil breather valve, i bought a new power steering reservoire and i flushed the old fluid, I'm flushing rear diff, breaks and adding the new molygen liqui moly oil change. All it needs now is motor mounts, transmission mount, conductor plate, rear control arms, sway bar links, & now flex disc$. Will it be worth it in the end? most likely. & As soon as i started doing preventative maintenance this stupid corona virus pops up and i got layed off from my job. >:O
Cheers from down under Alex, love your work & especially your W211 by far the best, you know you need a bigger workshop when? you resort to working on a piece of cardboard on the workshop floor - all to familiar to me, both you & Kyle @ FPC Euro best Merc: content out there. Thanks again.
Looking forward to your collaboration with Scotty Kilmer where he challenges you to basketball where engine covers are the ball and a trashcan is the hoop. :P
Love your videos man! I currently drive Audi A4 3.0 Quattro, but you made me aim for E55 AMG soooo bad :D Also watching you makes me wanna move to US with my gf :D Keep them coming! :D
I thought about getting a wrecked E55 amg sedan once for $2k. I was going to drop the engine into the E500 wagon. I thought it would be cool to have a E55 4matic. Never got around to it though. One thing I will say is the E500 wagon is amazing on really snowy or muddy roads. Sedans and pickups with 4wd were stuck, and I just go puttering past them. You should get an e500 wagon for the winter, Alex. I got an electric problem with it though. That's a boring diagnosis.
HEY GUYS Alex here!....no wait... THIS! Is the Mercedes R63 AMG and it is a VAN! Now I'll be showing you around THIS AMG VAN...no wait... Hello my name is Alex and I've borrowed my friends couch!
Nice how MB let's you replace the flex disk by iteself vs attached to a new drive shaft like Cadillac. Had to replace my rear drive shaft to replace that disk bc it's attached.
Could the fuel injectors stocking open be a u.s problem due to octane rating? I haven’t seen that problem here in Australia ( our premium is 98 octane)
Alex, what with new technology coming every day and maybe there's been updates to repairs, I was wondering if you still have to go to training/seminars/etc to keep up-to-date on your mechanic skills? Or do you just use updated repair guides and common sense?
I could be wrong, but shouldn't you preload the suspension a bit before you tighten up those swaybar bushings the rest of the way? I know it goes together differently, but I had to do this for the lower control arms on my 740iL so they are in a more natural state sitting on the ground, rather than constantly bound in a twist, and twisting even more under hard cornering/braking. It causes premature failure of the lower control arm rubber bushings if you don't. I am wondering if this is the same.
Thanks Alex you've given me confidence in buying an AMG ml63 this will be my first Mercedes I have one question with remapping will this count the vehicle being a standard vehicle just with response to the pedal and fuel consumption I think your videos are grouse ie Primo
What would you rather own? R63 or E55 Wagon?
e55 wagon......
E55, not a fan of the look of the R Class
E55 wagon, Supercharged superwagon ❤
E55 Wagon. Those are harder to come by.
Wagon 100#

Can't wait for that series. I've always liked hot pink VW Bugd with those eye lashes for the headlights you bought.
Nobody:
LSC: The engine of a R63 AMG is a great couch once you place some foam on it
Sai Vootukur as soon as I clicked on the video I started scrolling to the comments just to comment what u said 😂
Finally the silver lining of the coronavirus, Alex is forced to worked on cars again.
Crazy how fast that thing is. Try a 0-60 with it full of people.
15:12 guy behind you was about to turn into the other lane but then realized you were in an amg and not just a mini van!
OMG, Alex! That AMG E55 wagon is a ripper! It's rediculously quick and I want one!👍😎 All the best to you and your family, sir.
E55 wagon forsure.
Honestly, thank you Alex for this channel. I always loved and wanted the early 2000's E55 AMG, but I've always shied away from owning one because of repairs.

Hell yes. Always good to see a pro mechanic at work. That wagon...omg it dominates!
When you open up TH-cam just for LSC and it's the first video you see, you know it's gonna be a good day :)
So nice to see an experienced mechanic at work!!
Hot damn! That wagon is fast!
“Oh, your injectors you got from us stuck open and hydro locked your engine? Don’t worry, we’ll send you out another set right away!”
Mike Scenna yea lol
AWESOMEEE E55 ALEX!! really really lovely wagon!!! Amazed how quick it is!
Anyone want to see Alex work on a regular M113?
Hey Alex, if this comment gets a good number of likes, can I ship my CLK500 to you for some maintenance videos? 🙏
Unless it gets a supercharger right after
This is so helpful! I wanted to do the flex disk and the injectors on my R63, but there aren’t many (any?) videos of someone working in the engine bay - I knew that black cover had to come off!
Enjoyed that video, good format and i like when you get right into the work with excellent results like you had! Awesome
You should make a video about the E63 5.5 Biturbo engine and the newer 4.0 Biturbo. Things to know, reliability, maintenance cost ect. Love your videos!!
I love videos when you repair cars. It gives us the insight and confidence to do it. Thanks!!!
All 4 of those vehicles in the street was definitely a huge flex 💪💪
Love the repair /maintenance vids! Keep up the good work!
Damn, took me 5 hours to replace the injectors on my 1.6 citroen 😂 replaced them for bigger ones to run on e85, turns out they were too long to fit but i made it work, was my first time working on my car too besides oil changes
Your audio is on point here, props!!
Chicago PD: “Sir, you can’t be parking on both sides of this street”
Alex: “I pay taxes, don’t I? These are my roads”
Great video Alex! Been watching your videos for a while now, but fairly new subscriber. Absolutely love your DIY tutorials. Wish you also did them on BMWs I would watch each and every one!
Thanks brother!
Engine bay looks immaculate. Nice really rare find, Alex. MBTech approved
I used to replace the rubber flex discs on a Ford Granada MK3 Diesel. After much swearing at the owner to get a UJ installed instead of the crappy rubber joint he finally went with my idea. Happy days :-)
Mighty car mods must be so jealous about how smoothly you work on cars.
Mighty car mods SHITS on this channel fuck outta here
Man the R63 is a dope minivan
One of the coolest vans out there
Bro One of the coolest? Name a better minivan
Antreas Konstantinou right, what a weird thing to say. There’s literally no better mini van in existence
Jaion Cebollero well there is the Renault F1 van and the Ford Supervan
@@basithph8958 which was not available as a production car. so this is the coolest mpv you can buy as a normal person.
Ashley Daniels well true but it still kinda counts tho
Please do more video on preventive maintenance like this. The modifications are cool, but generally i like to maintain the car as long as possible 😁👍
I Love these kind of videos 👌🏼it’s what got me hooked to your channel 👍🏼 E55 Wagon all the way mate 💪🏼😎
Alex Pull the heady off of the Caprice and send them to TSP for the CNC port and polish.
Great video! Same here - ordered brakes, filters, etc. for 5 cars!
We love to see you fix then top speed run them after
The amount of stuff that needs repairing on these vehicles boggles my mind. My last vehicle, a 2009 Isuzu Dmax did 385,000km and needed a turbo coolant hose. It still drove quite nice.
European vehicles need a astonishing amount of regular repairs
ALex !!!
Thank you for this. I love the wagon/sedan e55 comparison . I would love to see the wagon get the same mods as the Sedan just for comparisons
I prefer tightening all bushings when car is on the wheel, seams like that bushings also need that! It’s so fun spending money on new parts toys for bigg boys 😀
This is a great channel, keep up the great and high quality work!
Fuel injectors are a good one. Just replaced injectors on my W211 E63 because the resistance was in the kilo Ohms and was causing a misfire.
@legitstreetcars any plans to do this similar sort of work to an M177 engine in the near future? I'd love to be able to follow your content for the this sort of maintenance on my own AMG!
My favorite videos on this channel is Alex actually doing some dirty work 😂
I thought I've seen it all but that Mercedes hose clamp proprietary tool is something else!
It is not proprietary, it is a standard spring clamp tool used on many other cars from Ford to Toyota.
Keep doing these videos!! And show us a little more how you do the repairs and tips are awesome
Alex when will you get into camshafts, cam adjusters and lifters?? Bro really need it!! Just to check if they are in good shape or even replacement!! Thank you man!
Oh I’m really digging the wagon!
You picked a picture perfect day. Love the diy videos.
Nice video. I definitely appreciate the step by step process on the repairs you perform
Thanks Tim. Appreciate you watching
I did wonder - if you fitted new FCP Euro injectors (with their lifetime warranty!) and one DID happen to stick open, hydrolock and destroy the engine in the way you described - would FCPE replace the entire engine, or just the faulty injector?? Just an idle thought!!
Cool hose clamp plier everyone's asking about.

Hey Alex! Great job man!
BTW the R-class stands for racing hahaha
15:24 what app are you using to measure acceleration?
Can’t wait to see these videos dude!
Loved the video! Can’t wait to get my Kove speaker too. Hoping it works well

Pls post every song in this video. So many spicy tunes
"...basically turns into a couch!" LOL :-). Also, I think I've seen a video or two made by that really good looking TH-camr.
you make it look easy! love your videos!
Love these types of videos!
That R63 would make a sweet hearse. Could get to the cemetery right fn now.

Goes straight to Autotrader.
15:11 the car behind you could not guess you would speed up that quick
Alex, with all those AMGs, a Tesla, an Escalade.......plus a cop car........your neighbours must think you're some super rich dude!! :))
The sway bar should only be tightened when the car is in ride higt if not the bushings will wear out very quickly..
Looking forward to your collaboration with Scotty Kilmer where he challenges you to basketball where engine covers are the ball and a trashcan is the hoop. :P
Hey bro, I been watching your videos and it's very interesting, anyway I'm in love with GL550 and R63, keep real brother
Alex, you need a dragy. You can overlay all the performance data over a video of the run.
Awesome Mercedes bro
You should do the updated mirrors and a diy for the e55 wagon ;)
You should drop car to the floor then tighten bushings , this applying to all suspension components
Guaranteed the wagon will be quicker than the sedan when you’re done installing those LTH’s
Thanks Alex for another informative video! Stay safe out there my friend!🐟
Thanks for watching brother!
you make my soul happy
This is classic Alex that is the reason I subscribe, I do want to see an OM642 in the future..... hint hint
That wagon hauls the mail but I want an R63!
Love your videos man! I currently drive Audi A4 3.0 Quattro, but you made me aim for E55 AMG soooo bad :D Also watching you makes me wanna move to US with my gf :D
Keep them coming! :D
Needs the trans solenoid mod you did on the sedan and it'll be epic
that instrumental went hard ass fuck
I like how to added a lot of music to this video.
That is fucking crazy! In the threes and it's an estate as we call them here in the UK. Frigging awesome!
Love those videos
Roads closed pizza boy!
Next video: something broke on my R63 again
yes i like these type of videos !

Thought that Most bushings and Swaybar bushings, are supposed to be thightend when car is at curb weight position/when car is at normal ride height? 😊
HEY GUYS Alex here!....no wait...
THIS! Is the Mercedes R63 AMG and it is a VAN! Now I'll be showing you around THIS AMG VAN...no wait...
Hello my name is Alex and I've borrowed my friends couch!
R63, easy! Though the wagon is tempting!
Are you sure your pump gas is 98 Ron? Not 98 PON?
paranoid1123 it’s 98 Ron and we also have ethanol (e85) from the pump
Your 98RON is the same as out 93 (R+M)/2
When you work on the cars with your tools it looks an easy fix. But it’s not.
Good job as always
Bring on the fixing videos!!!!
I hope engine would not get CaronaaVirus error code! Lol ! I am BMW guy, but I love your work!
