I enjoyed the video. I like how you have a change in your backgrounds. I also like the different ways that you are using your camera ranging from hand held, close up to what I assume is a tripod. All of these changes give the video a more dynamic feel as if we in your garage. Also I like that you upload on weekends it seems others only do the weekdays or their uploads are very random.
As a kid I would watch Saturday morning cartoons while eating my cereal and as an adult I watch Saturday morning Legitstreetcars with my steak & eggs with a side of Irish oatmeal. Thats crazy the fender needs removal to access the washer bottle assembly.
@@bigstinka1 Steel cut oat meal. I make mine in pressure cooker. Stove top takes 30 minutes but requires constant attention to stir it thats why the pressure cooker is better. You can just soak them overnight in milk in the fridge and add fruit.
For those removing the hood by themselves but not wanting to damage the fenders: put some rags or cardboard around the hinge areas, remove hinge bolts, and rest the corners of the hood on them. Use fender covers or steal a comforter from the bedroom. I won't be held accountable for what happens once the ladies find out.
Alex - I honestly think that your videos are among the best on TH-cam in this category. Your videography, editing, and explanations are really well done. I think the important thing to remember is to continue showcasing your experience, skills, knowledge, and tremendous mechanical abilities. Also, your sincerity and earnestness are key attractions along with your highly articulate commentary . If you maintain all these elements you'll be on your way to seven figure subscription channel (without a doubt).
In my country, it is impossible to make these types of repairs, both cosmetic and mechanical due to the high cost of everything. This car is still extremely expensive. However, I love to see a regular guy doing what we could do in any garage. Stay safe! Cheers from Brazil.
Thanks for the mention man!! Stay safe.. Love ya bro!. We should totally race again as soon as the quarantine ends, I received my work permit 2 weeks ago to film outside so I'm good for the rest of the year.
Great Video with a touch of humor! Here's a tip from a retired body shop owner: Put a moving blanket across the windshield before removing the hood. Just in case it slips! (don't ask me how I know)
I’m of the camp of leaving it with E55 bumper, but its your car so do what you want. The fact that you got the E55 wagon gives you high points. Those are legendary.
Another great video Alex! I think it's really great of you, even with your very important day (or night) job that you still find time to give us such wonderful content! Thanks again! Love these in depth videos
Watching your videos is like deja vu all over again. Need to put constant pressure on the screws to remove the bottom screws on the side skirt. Pull up from the bottom, rotating the side skirt. Don't need to remove the inner fender wells to remove the front bumper, rear bumper or side skirts. Don't need to remove the subwoofer to remove the rear bumper either, or install it for the matter. Reinstalling the side skirts is much much much more difficult than removal. Good luck!
Wow! I own a 2000 ML320 and I was able to retrofit a 2005 sport style front bumper with headlight washers. Quite a bit of fabrication involved but I love projects like this. Can't wait to see your finished project.
I like the other E-63 sedan front makeover. Looks super custom, reminds me of an old school Konig kit in a modern look. I think the wagon will look awesome! Alex, you've no car self control. It's a good thing.
I enjoy all the work you do on your Mercedes. I have a 2000 S500 a 2005 E500 and 2005 C230k and all the work you do on your videos really help me keep my cars in good shape. I’m a DIY guy and have learned a lot from you.
Nice job on the removal process. Marking the bolts and the fender position is definitely a smart move. The updated front end will definitely look better.
I updated my 1987 300 TD. I put 18" wheels and tires on it, I put a 1995 euro lights and Hood front bumper, front fenders, and had the whole car stripped down to bare metal, and painted. Looks great. :)
Great instructions for the mods. I still think the front rotors are installed backwards (right rotor should be on the left side and visa versa.) You can tell by the drilled curves. They should be pointing to the rear for better ventilation.
I had a question pertaining to these awesome w211 wagons. when I do the brakes on a 2004 e320 4 mactic wagon, do I unplug the brake control unit first?? Thank you so much, love the videos and knowledge you share! Keep it up !! Thanks
@@LegitStreetCars Thank you so much. I have a 2010 e63 and the 2004 e320 4mactic wagon, and I just love em'. Hi Alex I’m planning on tuning my TCU. You have made I think 2 videos on it, which tuning company would you highly recommend? Along with tuning would you recommend changing the 2 brown solenoids in the valve body to the blue ones or just leave them as it is?
If you have an m113k car you should have the blue solenoids. Wait on doing anything with the tune. I should have a video soon on something new I'm trying. If the video doesn't come out in the next month then it didn't work. Then email me at legitstreetcars@gmail.com
How good is the W211 body and subframe with resisting rust? I'm looking at an E55 myself, just weondering how big of an issue I'm getting mysaelf into rust wise. Not expecting it to be perfect at the current age ofc.
I love this channel and all the content and how you always show how easy it is to save yourself money and how easy it is if you just have the proper tools and car buying tips.. But your killing me with the jumping around sir A.D.D...... I wish it wasn't so hard to follow you on one particular build. Thank you and please keep the great contact coming.
What do you think about Weistec - 175hp supercharger? Did you have any experience with it before? I found e55 with it, intercooler with tank in trunk, exhaust and 100k miles in Louisiana, but car needs suspension work, brakes, new battery and some electronics issues fixed. Engine and transmission are smooth. But I didn’t have an opportunity to drive it, because only one air bag fills up. Is it worth getting into it, or better find stock one? Your opinion will be highly appreciated! Thank you!
Maybe you know what could be my problem... I have Mercedes w211 e280 with 722.9 gearbox and yesterday I did a pull and now my gearbox is not going into gear... it shows P R N D but does not move... I checked live data and it shows that it understands witch gear I'm choosing but does not engage it. Any thoughts for that? oil level is perfect and external everything looks good too.
Alex, I have been a sub since the very beginning and I have no intentions of getting a Mercedes, but I love quality automotive educational videos which you deliver in spades!
Just out of curiosity, what would you have to do if the clips broke when taking off the side skirts? Would you try to repair the clip or how would you go about finding another one?
I also have an E55 amg wagon with E63 exterior mods, so I’m really enjoying the great videos. I have shared them with the w211 group here in Taiwan to help with our wrenching.
Loving your work as always mate 👍🏼 😎 one tip I’ve learn over the years about removing factory painted fender bolts is putting a small piece of 3M waterproof detail tape (the blue one) over them before unbolting with the socket & ratchet wrench by hand . Hey Alex great video as always, I have a w211 e500 and my mirror seals are super brittle and just falling apart. I was wondering how easy is the swap to the facelift mirrors? Thanks and stay safe
I usually struggle most with the disassemble of trim and other stuff, where there are hidden clips or bolts and where sometimes you do not know exactly where they are. All the mechanical stuff and functional components are normally much easier to understand. So I enjoy to watch this and I especially enjoy seeing if something actually does not work out, because then I usually remember, okay there was another hook or something for wiring or some hidden clip or whatever. This is great! One question related to the E63 bumper. I have one on my E55 which is supposed to be original Mercedes part. The annoying thing is that there is a small gap between the bumper and the belly pan, as the belly pan is made for the rounder E55 bumper and the E63 one is more pointed / V shaped. What did you do to close this gap? Cheers
What a transformation, congratulations. On a separate topic and knowing that you are a MB mechanic by profession, how in the heck do you remove the torque converter drain plug? I have tried on my C class and recently on my W166 with no success. Any special tool?

What's the best starter AMG? I say C32. Reliable and easy to mod.
LegitStreetCars what about the C30 CDI… the only diesel amg… if you can find one that is…
Whatever happened to the W203 you purchased? The one with the special mods.

Pls show every single detail how to facelift the cars there is no video at all on TH-cam and also the mirrors👀 Greats from austria
What did you think of this video overall? Anything you liked or disliked? I'm writing out a gameplan to a new series and I'm playing with video style.
Hey alex what size are those wheels you have on your wagon. Also would you happen to know what the name of that particular rim style would be called?
