There is no doubt that $4000 isn't exactly chump change, but given the issues that needed to be addressed, the quality of labor, and the outcome this was money WELL SPENT! Nice job Alex! These folks are obviously true professionals at their craft.

They should have resprayed the driver's door too. I dont get why they repainted 3 out of 4 panels on that side, wouldnt have been much more work to do that door and have the entire side a 100% match.
That dudes arm looks like a freaking robot when he is painting. I love seeing true masters working on their craft. Give hope for humanity.

Great turnout, love the flow, arm speed and distance the painter applied the clear for minimal orange peel. This car turned out great but as you stated you have the skills to perform most of the repairs and not everyones cup of tea but the risk was worth the reward.
Excellent work saving this C63. Love the bumper mod, but I think it'd look better with the OEM trunk spoiler. Thanks for the great content you're putting out!

Salvage title cars are sometimes hidden gems. My E55 wagon was salvage title without a single dent in any panels. The owner just wanted it totaled in a minor accident that ripped the front bumper off. What it means is I now get to daily drive an E55 wagon for way less than half what they sell for.

Imperfections and making this beast as elegant and c63 as possible ... but the right front fender is a bit off compared to the front bumper .... probably should have lightly sprayed the front right bumper to make it match properly ...

The car looks great! We love the title of the video because it’s kinda like the deal with our E55. Most didn’t want to buy it after seeing your inspection video of it because it really wouldn’t make sense to put that much money into a car with so many miles. I guess we are the only people crazy enough to do it lol.

you probably hate these kind of comments but you might wanna re-align the trunklid and the rear left door. and on camera the respray does stick out a little, at least with my TV, but im sure these things will be gone, once youre done with the paint-correction.

The W204 is one of my all-time favorites and the car I currently own, so I've enjoyed watching this series so far. Never understood all the hate for the amber side markers though, I rather enjoy them at night. I am, however, bone stock till I die, so maybe that's it lol.
I'm blown away, Alex, at how good the C63 AMG now looks! What a fantastic job on the body and paint work! Takes me back to my C63 PC desktop background I used to have a long time ago in the same colour. Dream machine and love that you want to bring it back to stock, especially with the European front bumper. Absolutely immaculate salvage title Mercedes-Benz. Enjoy!

Interesting how experts make it look so easy, but it takes years to build that skill and a determination to get it all perfect.
Always find the best expert is worth the extra money.
Man, I can't believe how good this thing looks. On the reveal/walkaround though, it's a bit of a shame you didn't clean up the wheels/tires...it's like wearing shabby shoes with a nice suit. I'm sure I'll be blown away by the new wheels/tires.

"See's new C63 content = Instant Like!" been following this from the start. Absolutely loved it. I'd personally replace the bonnet badge for a black emblem and black mirror covers along with wrapping the chrome around the windows. Believe me it transforms the car! I have night pack on my E Class. Its a real head turner. Other than that a restore the leather and other interior bits along with paint correction and maybe PPF and new exhaust and man it's gonna be epic 😊
Wow! That's all I can say! Auto Art did a fantastic job. Before seeing the results I sort of wondered about removing the front side reflectors, but oh . . . my . . . god, you called it right. In retrospect those things stood out like a smashed thumb! Maybe they'd be OK with a different body color, but what a vast visual improvement. Sweet job all around, my man!

I have a 2011 C63. The sound of big NA engine never gets old. Timeless design trace back to W201. Hope Benz can go back to edgy design on W206.

That shop's work is pristine, great vid and great job by them. It's funny that I'm having so much trouble convincing myself to get full paint work done on my Benz, but it's really amazing how much a nice, blemish free exterior makes a car look without any real mod work. Seems like it will be worth a grand to take care of things.

Honestly super surprised all that bodywork and paint only came to $4k. I was expecting the price tag to be about $10k. If the paint work looks good in person, I'd be will to drive up that way to have that shop do some work on one of my cars!

Dang it. I'm not a fan of white paint, but as long as you're happy it's all good. Those cars look amazing in Siler, gray and black.
very sharp looking motor, most of the fun is doing the engine and bodywork, i would not care if i was out of pocket doing items, i would rather have a smile and clear conscience.
Love seeing masters in their trade do their magic. Would love to spend some time in that shop learning/watching. Paint is and always will be an art when it’s done right.
Edit: Mirror covers man.. mirror covers. The next nastiest thing now that you fixed the US spec reflector.
TED! It bums me out to see pros using rotary tools without any BASIC safety gear. I teach my 10 year old this: Safety Glasses for everything, and a respirator if you are sanding (nearly anything). As Big John McCarthy says: "Protect yourself at all times!"

If you ever want some very clean restoring might want to search Joker-Restoration on Facebook just found about them searching in some Mercedes groups from Europe , looks like they mainly do Mercedes like the very old 190SL and the 300SL and some newer models and some other really cool stuff
I have nothing against rebuilt title, I was looking for a 370z nismo for a long time but all are in more than 28.30 thousand and more, and I got one of the year 2017 with 16 thousand miles almost new and the problem was that the rear bumper was destroyed sideways by an elderly person in the parking lot of the supermarket, nothing happened to the fenders the dealer showed me photos of the whole problem and I bought it, I paid 21 thousand with taxes the car is a beast, very good all your videos...
ps:Here in Miami, if a car is kicked in a door automatically is rebuil title, I think is dirty business of insurance companies if you check this area is full of rebuild title...

Wow.... that's a crazy law...every vehicle would have a rebuilt title for door dings to kids hitting the vehicle with bike.

Ok...2 mins in, this shop is epic at the work they do and in budget.
This is cool but, I don't want to know how much this cost, relative to what the car is worth and I wouldn't want to be his lungs...despite his excellent work. Well the time it took and the mechanical skill needed to sort it on the garage. So....I'd call it you're ahead of the game by a bit, unless you sell it quickly. Using it and enjoying it, is the key. I'm waiting for the day, they put an E63 engine in a C63. (A real 1:1) but, they'd cannibalize their sales. Kudos to you for covering the own mechanical work in the explanation at the end. Knowing everything is sorted about your car, when you drive, is priceless. Most never know most about a used vehicle they own. Well done

Interesting you've done a Euro style bumper, the latest thing thats started to appear in the UK is setting the front indicators to come on like US side markers!
Nice job, despite all the other stuff I’d say the corner marker delete was the single biggest improvement. I still prefer the old c63 to the new bi-turbo (while accepting that in paper it’s a better car).

It looks really great! I was at the NYC car show a few years back and the C63 coupe they had on display didn't have the corner markers on it and I always thought they just left them off because it was an auto show car. I had no idea the European cars came that way. I definitely like it much better.
Good job Alex. It turned out beautifully. Im restoring my 2005 ml350 with the ML55 conversion kit. And retrofiting new updated electronics. I enjoy your videos. It has inspired me to continue with my dream w163 project. Plus i own my daily ml550 2014
Love the car!! Great vids all the time. I would sum up that what you've essentially said about the AMG models in general or at least the highest power ones is that it's the same rules for them as the BMW M cars. Warranty if you don't ever wrench and if you do you can get a lot of car for a better buck! But there will be work to get it up to very reliable spec.

36 years of experience...dude...that’s how they spray the cars in some backyard in Poland. That’s definitely not a quality paint job. I guess we just have much higher quality standards here in Germany...I certainly wouldn’t be happy with the result and the “level of professionalism”...
I was thinking the same. Bodyshops in the US are just not on the same level as they are in western Europe. I'm from the Netherlands and a paintjob like this would only be like 1000 euros in some shabby bodyshop. But if I go to a pro it would be like 3000 euro, and it will be perfect. Body gaps still are not right on this car to be fair.
@@wouterboer66 Exactly. Just the fact that he is painting between the body panels (closed door??!) makes me shiver. Also he painted over the rear spoiler that was still on the car? This can't be real! You need to take it off and paint it separately and then put it back on the car. Seriously thats just straight up crap... If you want perfect results you need to paint every single part separately completely stripped down. You can't paint a car when its completely put together.

i do body work for a high quality shop so ofcourse u see things that make u smirk like using regular top coat body filler on the rear cover..will crack if it gets bumped. He didn't put that much material on the left qtr. Well thats because there was already a ton from the last repair he just basically did a finish coat over it, and all that grinding and no saftey glasses? but hey great video and i like the car.

Newly painted, just buffed paint is gonna look a bit clearer than old paint, but it will look the same in a few weeks maybe!

11:39 the gap shown between the panels isnt equal all along it. near the tyre its closer together
12:05 right of the hood that meets the bumper has a larger gap that the left.

I love your videos and especially that you show the good and the bad. I have 1 comment however, you said that the body style W204 ends at 2014. Actually it ends at 2015 for the coupe. I have a 2015 C350 Coupe W204. I love the car and looking forward to adding modifications. It would be great to see you modding the C300 or C350.

The paint looks great and the bodywork repairs were perfect. Unfortunately the gaps between the different panels are uneven so it’s easily noticeable that something happened
I think you should have the body shop put all of that boy racer eBay crap back on and tape the calipers green again. That would be sweet.
Totally worth the money spent......unless someone tries to pass it as a regular car and not salvage.
Rebuilt title don't matter if you intended on keep the vehicle. Do what makes you happy! It's your money, you earned it....spend it how you want!
