  • In this vid I install the DPCHIPX in the 2021 Isuzu DMAX 4JJ3 and take it for a road test with live data and get a feel for the extra power and torque! Nice and simple plug and play engine module and install :)
    DPCHIP is an After-Market interactive computer which exploits the full potential of modern EFI diesel engines. Individual programming and re-mapping of the engine management system enables this simple to fit device to increase power by up to 25% and torque by up to 35%. DPCHIP alters fuel, timing and air characteristics to create smooth power gains.

    😀 About VideoShowMeHow
    -----------------------------------------------
    ⏩ Where did this start?
    I really enjoy tinkering with different projects - they usually require a whole bunch of research and learning along the way. It's satisfying on doing a thing and standing back and going 'Yeah! Totally did that!'. I had a bunch of mates asking 'how did you know how to do that?' and 'I couldn't never do that myself so I thought; I need to start something where I can help others that might be thinking the same thing :)
    ⏩ What will you find here?
    The purpose is simply to make these videos as top quality and helpful as I can. They will always be free, there's ZERO agenda and the only motive is to try and upload what I would want to watch to help with that particular project. I'm also keen to keep building this little community and will try to answer all questions when asked - fire away :)
    ⏩ What's with the gloves?
    Not after any TH-cam fame here which is why I'm not in the vids - they're not about me they're about the how-to! I used the gloves for the first couple of projects I filmed which just happened to be messy ones and it kinda just became a thing. Plus adds a little more personality I guess :)
    New videos are being uploaded regularly so if there's something you'd like to see, have Questions and/or Comments drop me a line.
    Cheers guys.

      G'day Adam, I will also be interested in your testing results, I've taken my DPCHIPX out of mine now as I found I was using more fuel, it wasn't extreme but with today's fuel prices it was enough to warrant me taking it off.

    • @jdoubles
      @jdoubles 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey@@eddie402009 , do you have bigger wheel/tyre combo to the stock? I'm about to go with bigger tyres on the factory rim, and interested to hear if you think the DP Chip would still be a good idea, especially that it's going to be a double-punch for fuel consumption; bigger tyres and a chip as well?

    • @eddie402009
      @eddie402009 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jdoubles hi mate, yeah I don't have stock wheels or tyres, they are CSA Dakar rims and 265/70/17 Wildpeak AT tyres, I already had them on before I fitted the DPCHIPX and have found to be using more fuel with it installed so I've taken it off for a trial period, it was great while towing but used more fuel compared to standard when not towing, I didn't notice much difference at all between the stock rims and tyres compared to what I have now, bugger all in fact, hope that helps mate.

    • @jdoubles
      @jdoubles 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eddie402009 sure does mate, yeah.
      In fact, it gives me impetus to hold off on the chip, as I'm not going to be towing, I'm going to be doing majority beach driving - with a 3-ply sidewall tyre as opposed to whatever the stock HT tyres are (.5 ply??? lol) and I can see the mixture of those two leading me to digging some deep holes in some of the softest sand going around, save maybe at Inskip. Cheers mate.

      Thank-you Micky for your support 👍 Engine temps are quite good on the gen3 dmax platform, anytime in 4wding or towing I monitor then live and am yet to see more than 93c. The new factory auto heat exchanger seems to also work well (haven't had any warnings and have been pushing hard towing) but I haven't been able to validate as the PID hasn't been cracked yet.

    Interestingly that the makers of the chip will make good any repair if it is deemed the chip was the cause of any engine or drive train malfunction, herein lies the dilemma , how is that determined and who by?
    My guess it will create a shit storm between Isuzu and DPCHIPX with each denying any responsibility or fault.

    If I got my 2021 BT50 tuned with this chip for heavy towing, will it not stress the vehicle too much? I tow my boat 3000kg on occasion and some more HP and Nm wouldn't go a miss

    Just wondering if you did anything else when you fitted the bigger tyres like a lift kit or are they guid to go as is?
    Must admit I like the factory rims so thinking on fitting a set of 275/65 Razrs to them rather than sourcing a new set.

    I will suggest “buyer beware”- depending on your vehicle, some Dp Chips merely plug into your fuel rail (common rail) and increase the pressure by about 10,000psi. You can buy other chips that will do the same for half the price.
    If considering a DP Chip, contact Berrima Diesel and ask for a copy of the installations guide- don’t get jammed like I did!
