Thinking the same for my radical arms.. thanks for the vid! If you drill too large you an always go with an adjustable to tune it down

Yea. That would be a good fix for that. Thank you for input.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I KNOW my Bushmaster is under gassed and I'll try this ASAP. Thanks for taking the time.

Have you heard of mid length on an 18" doing the same thing? I've tried troubleshooting with other lowers and taking apart mine and believe the short cycling is from lack of gas

You could have a mid length or rifle length gas system cause the same issue. If you do it doesn’t matter your barrel length. It is an effect caused by the longer gas system. If you had a rifle length gas system on a 16” barrel you would experience the same problem. 12” gas tube is “rifle length”
9” gas tube is “mid length”
7” gas tube is “carbine length”
4” gas tube is “pistol length”
I would say if you have anything over the 7” “carbine length” you probably have gas supply issues and need to open up the gas port like I did in this video.
Let me know if this helps.

@zumaconcepts1200 it's a mid length. I'd imagine there could be a longer time to pressurize the gas system with a longer barrel, but maybe that difference is negligible. I'll give one last try by brazing the gas tube since there was a small leak and try a friend's bolt out of a cycling gun before drilling. I'm getting about .089" on the port and will likely see what happens with a 3/32 drill bit. Good idea on the dowel for a stopper and to check for burrs.

I had the same issues with mine so I put in a heavier buffer H3 and it fixed the issue, no more problems
