5/27/16 UPDATE: Bike is done! The tuner did two custom maps, one for the stock air box door and one with this modded air box door. I did GAIN hp with this air box door mod and he was able to tune just fine! Bike Unveiling coming soon! WR250r update: Dyno Tuner said there was a problem my power commander, one of the pins in the connector was pushed back, was causing it not to communicate properly. He completed the map for the stock door, now he's going to try and tune the bike with my air box door mod again (Door hollowed & covered with filter). So if the second map is successful I'll have two maps on my switch, one for the stock door and one for the modded door. I'll do an unveiling of the modded wr250r next week. Stay tuned!
That's a cool idea. I like the way the airbox door is on hinges. My crf has the same door but it just comes off. No hinges. The bike is looking good. Can't wait for you to ride it.
+HEROrr I don't know about lighter, I will weight them but they are stronger and can take some hits. I really did it to have a second set of wheels but also to have a stronger set of wheels that can take dings. I hear these stock wheels are pretty soft. It's nice having an extra set of wheels, will getting a set of wheels for my cbr1000rr too.(Not chinese wheels, changed my mind)
Don't know if this applies to EFI bikes like the WR250, but for carb bikes like the DRZ400, it's not recommended to mod the airbox door because it can create turbulence in the air box, which then can cause lean/rich states in the mixture. Do not do this if you have a carburated bike. Interesting mod though. I wish I had an EFI bike. Thanks CC.
+aseredy yeah I wouldn't do this to a carb bike. Also, I will be having this bike dyno tuned and will be adding a 2 way power commander switch to switch between stock air box and a opened up air box. I will not even ride the bike until I get it tuned first.
what do you think about the 2016 CBR500R ? I do think to get it as 1st bike. Maybe you could make a test drive if you will find time. Thanks. P.S. I want to get into bikes and your videos make me want it more =] P.S.S. I want to get some info about suits(i do want the safest one cuz im just gettin into the bike world). I want to get a 1 piece suit in range of 1000 GBP to 1500GBP(i live in uk) and top it up with armor everywhere where its possible, what can you suggest me to get with some thought about the weather here.(winter 0 degrees to 10, summer 5 to 25, rainy). P.S.S. What do you think about LED bike neons, does they help with being visible? (in the evenings/nights?)
So the EFI system won't compensate on its own for the change in air mixture? (I only have one newer bike with EFI and haven't looked into doing anything out of stock with it) Also a question of dual maps, what is the process like when changing between maps? Turn off the bike, flick the switch, swap doors and done? Any guesses pre dyno what the HP gain is? Mostly curious about the technical bits of how safe it is for the bike if the maps get switched mid ride or if it gets bumped while in the garage. (if it is even possible to switch maps on the fly while its on)
+Hand Banana No, you don't have to turn the bike off to switch maps, just flip the switch (2-way switch). I have an appointment for a dyno custom map, when I get it done I'll let you all know what HP it's running at.
+Son Le Go back to stock, stock bikes are worth more. Then just sell the aftermarket parts on forums, ebay, craigslist, etc. And you'll make maximum profit.
+Son Le I'd sell it stock and then sell the aftermarket parts. Some buyers are skeptical of buying heavily modded bikes, at least I am. I like unmolested bikes if I ever buy used. You won't get that much more money when selling a modded bike, you'll make more money selling the aftermarket parts and the bike stock.
what's good CC. I've been watching your videos for the longest bro and I had a question. I wanna get into riding but I'm like a woman taking her car to a mechanic lol. could you put out a video on how to maintain your bike? you know like when to do oil changes, when and what to use lube your chain etc. and this is kind of off topic. but if your buying a used bike, what do you recommend as far as a good number to stay under for mileage. please and thank you
+mikebreezy3 hey thanks for being a ling time viewer. Just follow the recommended service intervals listed in the bike's manual. If you don't have a manual get one online or order one. Best of luck!
+Fast_N_Fearless You're getting more air because you are opening up the door, the door filter still provides good air flow but helps keep the dirt and light moisture out.
Hey buddy I need some help , I have a wr250r 2014 I bought the fmf powercore slip on with stock header , my question is do I need a fmf programmer coz my bike is loosing torque or Do i need a fmf heater too? Please let me know
You'll need FMF or EJK fuel controller (which you'll also need to program) when running aftermarket exhaust. As you've noticed an aftermarket exhaust without its own dedicated fuel controller will hurt performance since the factory ECU is designed to operate with the factory exhaust. I don't think you necessarily need a fmf header as some people run fmf q4's with just the stock header.
+Bob the Dealer I'd be worried about compromising the reliability. Honestly, this bike has enough power when modded for your off-roading needs. For street riding, whenever I want a hit of power I just jump on my cbr1000rr.
To be honest, I'm about to question your decision about cutting a hole on the side of the airbox instead of the top, but then I don't really know much about the WR250R plus you added some sort of filter in it. I know people in Thumpertalk will laugh at you if you cut a 3x3 hole on the sides of your DRZ400SM airbox instead of the top since it could let water in. Look forward for your end results, though.
+E2Moto The DRZ400 has a carb, I wouldn't do this mod to a carb bike. As far as water, like I said in the video, If I decide to hit the woods in wet conditions and ride over streams I will put the stock door back on and switch power commander maps (using a 2 way switch). I bought another stock door to carry if I decide to hit some streams in the woods. PS. A stock air box door is only $17 shipped.
+CycleCruza Ah, forgot that your bike is fuel injected. I'm quite jealous of that, but I hate electrical problems. I'd rather have my carb bike warn me of a potential breakdown than suddenly go down on me in a freeway. I still don't mind having a fuel injected bike if I have to, though.
E2Moto People say that but I have never heard of anyone ever having problems with a modern FI bike, I haven't. People used to say the same thing about FI cars when they first came out, now nearly all cars are FI.

i just brought traded in my 2015 xt250 for the wr250 and i love it. can't wait to start mods so happy i found you! GREAT CHANNEL
I like it that you always consider how to preserve so as to return to stock. Many folks just don't get why that's important
+sassed1 2many It's good so you don't void the warranty and also when you sell it buyers like unmolested bikes, at least I do.

Hey CC, Great video! I was curious on the wheels, why are you changing them? It is just for the looks, or are they lighter?
+HEROrr I don't know about lighter, I will weight them but they are stronger and can take some hits. CycleCruza Oh that's good to hear! :) Stay safe brotha! Looking forward to the wheel videos :)
Love the videos man! Watching these got me into vlogging! Keep the videos coming.
How about just taking the door off for street riding
Nice mod man. Hope it worked out!
you should get that beta 300rr I saw you comment on it!
+ENDURO SK looks like a great bike but has a carb, I'm not a carb fan, been there and done that.
+CycleCruza haha alright
thats a dope ass mod!

CC is it better sell your motorcycle with the aftermarket parts removed leaving as stock as possible or as a whole

Hey cc great video. Can you share your opinion about red lining your motorcycle?
Could you do motorcycle test rides??
What do you do for living man (if that's no to personal question on yt)?? Couse i'm like the last guy on earth to do any mods by myself..
+Kuba Szostak I don't like working on a motorcycle but do it only because I'm too cheap to pay someone else to do it. lol
where are you getting your custom wheels from?
+Trevor Glick warp9
+CycleCruza Cool, I will check that out. thanks.
what's good CC. I've been watching your videos for the longest bro and I had a question. would two filters not mean less air I taught the aim is to get more air into the main filter
+Fast_N_Fearless You're getting more air because you are opening up the door, the door filter still provides good air flow but helps keep the dirt and light moisture out.
+CycleCruza have u not to direct the air in first
Lol I am no expert but I have lot of experience with engines and air boxes the main thing is don't rescrict the flow of air or block the air flow
Hey buddy I need some help , I have a wr250r 2014 I bought the fmf powercore slip on with stock header , my question is do I need a fmf programmer coz my bike is loosing torque or Do i need a fmf heater too? Please let me know

morrre POWAAAA!! wheelie time?👌
+IronicRebound I can't wait!
CC can you do a Q and A please?
+Wise Fool Most of my motovlogs are based on viewer questions.
CycleCruza Not about motorcycles, about yourself maybe?

+CycleCruza I'm not saying EFIs are problematic, but I don't like the way they present problems if they get one.
Are you an engineer? Do you know more about this engine than the Japanese engineers that designed it?
Awesome mod ^^V
Can you put a cold air intake on one of them?

You are literally a epic handy man. Where do you get the idea to do some of this shit?
You should try the k and n air filter !! Better power gains than no toil , and they last a lifetime = ) Check them out !!
brad b No toil is better than K&N, also the oil and cleaner for the no toil is non toxic and biodegradeable.
