YES - did the same thing on my Triumph Bonneville when I installed my British Customs exhaust. Needed a small AI resistor plug, and I was able to ditch a load of unnecessary parts / hoses. So much cleaner, plus a cooler running exhaust now.
so thats basically like the pair valves on sport bikes does the same thing from what it seems im thinking about getting block off plates on my 15 636 i just put a graves slip on onto her and it has a little pop when u are on and off the throttle but i almost kind of like it

I'm in same boat. I bought the Graves hi flow exhaust cap for the meantime and really enjoy it. Just removes the spark arrestor and replaces with a straight pipe essentially. Just a tad louder.

U could but u would probably get a soot /carbon build up risk clogging and an eventual overheating ... it’s jst not worth doing unless ur changing ur exhaust system
A stock exhaust has a catalytic converter, so you're basically, making it worse in the long term, because you remove the main purpose of this system, for the catalytic converter not to clog.
No it allows clean , filtered air into the exhaust, to enable it to work in the exhaust with any unburnt fuel to burn the fuel & create a higher temperature within the exhaust.

You should have gotten a 2016 WR450F (dealer street legal) and you probably would have paid the SAME as what you are spending here? With over $2,000 in after market parts so far for your wr250r I would go with a '16 WR450F any day.

Much less maintenance. I bought the bike mainly for off-road, 450 is overkill. It's not about cost, actually, I was going to buy a ktm 690 enduro for 12k cash but backed out because the dealer wanted me to wait 2 weeks to prep the bike and I don't trust the reliability on the 690, their is a list of problems on the forums including poor turning radius.
CycleCruza I agree, the wr250r is a detuned version of the wr250f (2015 introduced a perfect WR250F that really seems to meet your standards better than this wr250r and you can get one for around $6k) Yes, the wr250r is an easy to own and baiscally bullet proof bike. This also does NOT make it a true dirt bike, meaning it's somewhere in-between a dirt/street bike. & 5 Gears from Yamaha's wide-ratio gearbox seems to please the crowd just fine anyways. Yes, 450 is overkill for off road riding unless the intent is racing, but for a true dual sport do everything bike the 450 really brings everything together in a package people really enjoy. JakeTheGardenSnake, SubieMoto, BeRAD all endorse the 450 for dual sporting/supermoto. PLUS Power wheelies make the 450 even more attractive. I agree though, KTM 690 reliability is worthless and you would end up spending more on maintenance then you did on the bike over time. But RidingWithTom seems to really love both his "little" wr250r and ktm 690 enduro so good vibes from there. You do have a good bike, but I feel like you should have gotten the WR250F or WR450F. Sometimes the little extra maintenance is worth it. I hope you supermoto that 250R!

SideRide no code should come up when removing the AIS, you must be referring to the servo cable? For that, you just get a servo emulator to prevent code from coming up.

There is probably a clip that latches the two halves of the plug/socket together.

That is wrong man. If you unplug the plug, you get a warning sign. You need "fooling" adapter plug.
