I like to put a little grease on the base of the filter element (where it comes into contact with the air box) before installing it, to make a more reliable seal with the air box. It kind of glues the element to the air box, making it harder for dust and such to sneak past the filter.
Good call Bill. Anything that could prevent dust and dirt getting into your engine cant hurt. You would just have clean it every time you clean your filter. No big deal tho. Thanks for your comment. Hope ya liked some of my vids.
Met you in the WR Facebook group, this was a good video, just intalled the power commander 5, no toil filter and a new map, lunch then taking her for a ride to see if I can feel any difference.
@@bigair0176 I used the 001 map at DynoJet's website. Definitely feel a little more pull. What I'm really after is dealing with the throttle jerkiness. The computer and the G2 throttle tamer have just about fixed it. The thing I have to get used to is the moose racing skidplate. Bike sounds louder, wasn't expecting that
relaxedguy I have a g2 tamer sitting on my bench. Haven’t installed it yet. Waiting on getting some new bars first. Does your bike have the stock exhaust? Exup and ais still installed?
Ok. I noticed the jerkiness went away when I got rid of the pollution crap so ais and exup. Exup is a slip on if you want you can keep the stock header. I also taped my air box open and removed the air flapper. I no longer have any and have jerkiness now the bike is completely open and free of pollution crap

Hi. I have a 2008 WRR with the engine and exhaust system being stock. I.E. no performance changes. Would changing the stock filter to this make any noticeable change? Your bike looks stock. Did you notice any difference? Thanks
Terry O'Leary I added the fuel controller as well as the air filter at same time. Reason for this was that is the bike has already a lean fuel air mixture to start off with. So you can change the filter out but it will lean the bike even more. So look into a fuel controller would be my advice. I found the fuel controller changed the whole power curve for the best even with stock exhaust. Check out my vids on installing and programming the fuel controller on my channel. Cheers. Mark I did this upgrade all at same time of the Fuel Controller. The fuel controller was by far the most noticeable upgrade for power output. Do I think it helps, yes of course but if you just do the air filter all your doing is leaning out a bike that is already lean from the get go. So if you do this definitely look at a fuel controller or power commander as well. Just my two cents.
Do the instructions mention that you have to use this with their plant based oil? Seeing as there is only the flame retardant coating I'm not sure if you need to use their low ignition oil or if any oil is ok?
I plan on using my old Bell Ray filter oil on this filter when it is time to clean. The filter obviously wants you to use their oils. There is no reason I can see why you cant just use regular oil filter oil. Obviously don't use just oil, make sure its filter oil is all I would say and you are good to go. This filter is no different then all the other I have used off road in my past. Hope that answers your question. Cheers

The reason I asked was because this filter comes with a teflon anti fire lining to prevent it going up on flames because this filter replaces the stock screen but they also mention how their own plant based oil has a higher flash point so that it's "safer". I was just wondering if they included in the instructions not to use normal oil to avoid any chance of a fire.
Laurence it never came with instructions. just had the filter, the plastic frame, and gloves to keep your hands clean. The outside of the box says nothing on the type of filter Oil. Sorry I can't be more helpful with that.
I use No Toil oil on all of my No Toil filters. Use them on a couple of bikes. It’s a good oil, and I like just being able to throw the filters in my washing machine to clean. Just don’t bother with the No Toil detergent. It’s just Oxi Clean. Go by a big box of it at Costco and you’ll have clean filters for years.
I don’t mind it. I haven’t had any issues with it. I am certainly not sponsored by them or trying to promote them. It just happens to be the filter I seen wr250r owners have been using.
