    📜 Video Description 📜
High Stakes pro Sebastien Wen and I review some hands Sebastien played at 200 Blitz on ACR (America's Card Room). This site was recently accused of not doing a good enough job of controlling bot users, but that didn't phase Sebastien.

    Pete's face when he sees the check raise . . . . . priceless.

First hand: Villain could have K9s/Q9s ( 4 combos in total) if those are in his SB calling range; 97s feels rather iffy. - A stronger player would understand that we have to hero call light in this spot. Then again: He would probably not call from the SB pre. 🙃

i also thought about 99, looked like he rivered some value

    Enjoyed the video! Interesting hands.
AKo hand: First instinct was if we use the big bet on flop, we can't use overbet on this turn and solver agrees. It's just too many blinds on a card that improves a lot of his hands and very few of ours. Even if we b75 and get raised, this seems like a trivial fold. We're at the bottom of our value range and have best case 5 outs.

For the last hand: on these two broadway boarsds, with one low card, you often see solvers play like big bet(/overbet) or check lines, where bb will throw in some weak 6x as some of the bluffing hands. This has the 2nd benefit on being able to value bet when hitting trips (10 6 also has an added benefit of giving some bluffs on some straight completing runouts). Villian for sure understood nothing and just played a trash line though

The last hand: I think he specifically did that to bluff on straight completing rivers. He probably also thought yoj have way to much Jx that would x/f river.

Didn't you have an episode that covered how your "gut" feeling combined with your overall poker experience is a a worthwhile consideration when making decisions in poker? I bring it up because it seems like this is heavily considered in your guests thought process and I applaud it to be honest. Regardless, Sebastien's "gut" is top notch.

Think I have to disagree with the river shove with the J7s. Sebastian said he was betting on people having the ability to fold 2 pair here... it's just not the case really. Guys just aren't folding 2 pair. How am I qualified to say this? Just lots of experience, millions of hands... Maybe a certain reg folds a bad two pair some of the time, when he's in a certain mood to fold. But betting on population folding 2 pair is just wishful thinking. I like the heart, but heart ev ain't dollar ev. Definitely don't create a strategy around making population fold 2 pair, rather create strategies around their inability to do so... much better approach.

@@muller101 200z on stars. Some guys that you play with, and you know not to bluff, because they're call boxes, will still continue to be call boxes forever and ever until the end of time... even if you never slow up with a bluff in a spot ever. ever. ever. ever. It makes me a little sad that the creativity required in the game is just nullified by peoples basic bitchness. But that's the reality of life in these games. Like I said, I love the heart, I wish the games were such that heart mattered and was worth something... but the players in the games are such that taking a basic bitch exploitative approach vs a pool of basic bitches is the approach. It's a basic exploit, it's boring, you'll lack heart... but there's no one to impress, they're basic bitches. Poker ain't the hill the die on with plentiful heart. It's easy to think "More creativity = more money", but it's just not true in poker in most pools, even good pools. Like even people that are posed as 'good players' don't deserve respect. They're all too human, and shit. Yes, I'm upset at them for being shit, even though them being shit is more profitable for me. I love the game. The idea of the game anyway... the reality of it, and it's players... not so much. Anyway, I respect the heart... keeping your heart in a pool of basic bitches that don't even care you have heart. May millions of hands not take that from you. At least you'll be able to tell your grandkids "Yanno, we may live in a shack, kids, but we kept our heart. Those bitches living in the nice houses, and having those nice cars with the counter basic bitch exploitative approach, they sold their heart long ago. Always keep your heart, no matter what."

I think it depends on the population. For a half-decent opponent, the key question is whether they believe that you bluff your busted flush draws in that spot. If so, they will probably just hero call you. If not, they'll probably find a lot of hero folds. But yes, if the population is bad enough, removing all your turn and river bluffs is a simple exploit against players who don't know when to be sticky and just simply think "2-pair good".
