    📜 Video Description 📜
Overbet flop strategies in poker are unfarmiliar to most players, but you can gain a big edge by taking your opponents out of their comfort zones and applying maximum pressure from the flop onwards. In this cash game poker video featuring hands from GG Poker we explore a few of the spots where overbet strategies make sense and learn how to apply them.

I've had a girl want to see my red line on the 1st date. I'm no stuck-up but that's a tad promiscuous. My now wife respected my boundaries, and I showed her my graphs when I felt ready.

I took your advice to stop doing what everyone else is doing. Today at the card room all the regs were getting massages. When it was my term I thought I’d do things a little different. Apparently requesting a prostate massage gets you kicked out of card rooms these days. Tried to be different.

Just to let you know, GTO WIzard does allow you to create a single bet size strategy that doesn't mix a bazillion sizes.

Teletext is to X, like fax is to email. My mind was blown the first time I saw a TV with Teletext. The best part was when you got to the page you wanted and were half way through reading it and then it went on to the next page /26. And you had to wait like 5 minutes for it to come back around.

I used Teletext a lot as a teenager. We even had a remote control with a Teletext section. Like, a dozen or so buttons for using and navigating through Teletext. Good times.

Overbettng the flop vs a BB calling range is delicious on any board with only a single card over a 9 on the board.
60% of the time it works every time!

Old enough to know about teletext here.
I use the flop overbet sometimes OOP in multiway pots, say UTG vs CO & BU or BB vs HJ & BU. In a very polarized way, either immortal nuts or a strong hand that needs protection (a set on two tone board) or very backdoor-ish stuff that even has bad reverse implied odds ie undercards with unlikely straights or flushes.
Thing is at low or mid stakes you don’t get pushed off your hand often enough, so either you generate more EV with strong value or buy yourself some opportunities with lower hopeless stuff.
I tend to go more linear against rec players, especially lower than 100BB volatile type players however.

Regarding where to put in volume:
My vote is on GG. Rake is high I know, but pools are big and with many recs so plenty of chances to play and show exploits we all like to se. 😊

Generally, with flop overbets... in the spot you showed, q96ss... you'll likely get overdefense, because people don't realise they need to be folded second and third pairs right away, and even top pairs. However, and this is what makes the play good vs those opponents... the barrels, they'll arrive on turns and rivers so wide, your fold equity will be through the roof
edit: you said this later in the video

Teletext wasn't that bad compared to the alternatives. True, you had to wait a minute until the text you wanted was displayed but the alternative was waiting for hours until a news show on the TV was on. Which started sending only after 18.00 o'clock. Or paying for a newspaper subscription with the news and weather forecast of yesterday. If you wanted to know how the football games went listening to radio or watching teletext was the only way to get the news while they happened.

Nice video. Last couple of months also playing a somewhat max exploited strat where I betting small most streets with bluffs and large-huge with nuttie hands. Very interessing of poker: Is that only fishes and more trained poker players are playing like this and the intermediate player playing a more of some sort of try to match GTO style. I am playing in a huge 50nl regular table pool so I havent find any prove that the multitabling villains I face more often are knowing what I do. Only on days I running really bad I have the feeling I am too transparent and than I really need to say to myself I seeing ghost.
My favorite line: Bet very small flop with bluffs (1.5bb), overbet turn (10.5 bb) (also on board that are paired/straight/flush possibilities) and give up river

Anyways i love this! You accidentally overbet and hit us with the most eye opening video ever. Thanks pete!
Edit: do the challenge on stars! The rake is so much more friendly even after the changes. I find the pool isn’t tougher whatsoever and actually easier. I’m geofenced in Ontario though, so it’s just shit regs and donks.
I also like being able to actually see my graph trend up and not stay flat while watching my rakeback line grow lol.
You’ve also turned my red line right around, and it’s printing!

Assuming you play an MDA based max exploit strategy (the pool is big and has near 0 clairvoyance) my guess is that GG is more profitable. It’s unclear though because it’s hard to tell exactly what the net rake is due to PVI changing.
Your guess is probably as qualified as mine. But I doubt stars is a good option for maximizing wr.

I haven't watched the video yet but I was doing work with piosolver on a 25 flop subset and came across the double pot flop optimal c-bet strategy on certain boards I found it pretty shocking at the time honestly. I'm not going to act like I've incorporated it into my regular game for worry of doing it on a few too many similar looking (to me) flops.

    • @enijize1234
      @enijize1234 หลายเดือนก่อน

The thing that does me with overbet flop strategies, is people play REALLY exploitably on defense. Alot of solver barrel offs are give ups vs pool due to people's ranges being more constricted/tight on defense. More so than vs 33% pot /75% pot, split-bet flop cb strategies which I just find easier and consistent to execute.
I sometimes fiddle and experiment with flop overbets when have chip stack advantage in good positions vs wide ranges with better implied fold odds. Or super deep. Spots where the exploitability becomes a bit clearer to read given the dynamics.

this is very reminiscent of the huge x/r strat Marc Goon @ hungry horse poker was talking about. Essentially, x/r to 6x-10x when OOP facing small range bets if your hand has even a dream of backdoor equity. V is supposed to fold 2 pair almost pure and start folding out sets at some frequency, but especially live people will defend with top pair etc. making larger mistakes than they would otherwise.

I think about 2.5 secs, and I slam 49K+ allin, lmao, raiser calls, button folds of course, he turns over AK - I get my first bounty, hahaha sucka... and it's really dry the rest of the way, but I limp into the money, tx to that hand:)
