Im an older woman, 43 and have embarked on this journey of becoming a CA. Im currently completing my second level of my degree. Is there any advice you can give me? Im basically anxious of reaching the time when I'll have to do my articles. This is because im currently working as an educator and my age worries me.

In 3rd year and post grad you major in all four.
Only during articles you can start specialising.

How easy is it to switch from auditing to being an accountant

It’s quite easy. Auditors check accountants’ work so it is already assumed you know accounting.

Not compulsory. English and Maths are compulsory.

Yes, critical thinking skills will always be in demand and that’s what CAs bring to the job market.

Not necessarily but CAs can use AI to synthesise information and be able to make better informed decisions.
CA’s are critical thinkers and decision makers not something AI necessarily does.
