I changed my career at 34 years old. I was a senior reservationist then i started level 1 to level 4 IAB which is similar to AAT. After level 4 i got a job as an accounts assistant and currently doing my ACCA. Just passed 2 exams. Currently taking a break so i can continue the courses during winter. I never went to uni, just wanted to change my career path and i'm doing very well. If that's what you wanna do, go for it hun.

HELLO devamsha, you always produce great videos. excel is important for an accountant, i suffer from lack of knowledge on this actually. what exactly do we need to learn on excel??
If I do APPRENTICESHIP in UK and later on I decide to move abroad would I be able to get Job abroad based on my accountancy apprenticeship-degree if not what subject should I choose in University for accountancy ? Your answer will be much appreciated?
When you say exams what do you mean? Like do you mean when you do an apprenticeship or study at university for accounting you have exams or do you mean at a normal accounting job they give you exams constantly as if you were at school or smth?
Do you get study leave or is it just time off to go college? As in do you actually get a few weeks to focus on revision or is the only type of study leave going to online college
We got a 6-8 week block of time off for physical college, and for my last set of exams which I sat online we got the same time off work to attend classes etc

Did you end up doing it?
@@jackhughes1012 I did. It’s going well at the moment.
@chyatt93 Can you give an Update on your AAT journey? I've been considering this path too, how are you finding it? How the exams/work etc
^
I changed my career at 34 years old. I was a senior reservationist then i started level 1 to level 4 IAB which is similar to AAT. After level 4 i got a job as an accounts assistant and currently doing my ACCA. Just passed 2 exams. Currently taking a break so i can continue the courses during winter.
I never went to uni, just wanted to change my career path and i'm doing very well. If that's what you wanna do, go for it hun.
“Yeah these exams might break you” I had to replay that a couple times.
Now I'm scared of doing accounting in A Level
@@Omo_Vázquezgimenez you’re gonna let that be the reason you don’t achieve your dreams?
They're not hard. Ignore that part of the video. I don't get why people say that knowing that it will affect other people's willingness to do the exams.
I have a bachelors in another field (psychology) an associates in bio and would like to take non degree courses to obtain a cpa. Would it be ok to take non degree courses and look for a job after with the certification? Every job listing seems to be adamant about “bachelors in finance or related field”
Well you could argue that psych is useful in the people and presenting part of the job! That may help get your foot in the door :)
But there’s not much math there right? I am in the same boat, kinda. I have a psychology degree and wondering how to go about it to get into accounting. I also did take bookkeeping in college for office administration but I’m sure I’ve forgotten a lot of the stuff I learned lol.
Since 2010 or so all companies have moved their accounting departments to Manila. Guatemala Romania etc. They have laid off hundreds of thousands of US accountants. You don't nees accountants here anymore.
Do u use whatever u studied in accounts subject in your daily work?? Or is it totally different when working?? Like do u need to remember all those accounting formulas and stuff for work??
Some of them are useful in daily task, no you don't have to remember them.
I want to be an accountant what am I going to study in university
hi there.. thank you for this video. so i've become interested in accounting through work experience. i worked in financial data management & then in digital marketing. both jobs involved liaison with finance teams so i've decided to learn more. do you think a background in computer science & data analysis will help when pivoting in a finance direction?
What route did you take to get into data analysis? Is it a stream within computer science?
Did you have this program at your school or was this something you needed to take certain classes. I’m interested in this job but I really do not know where to start at.
I came across this video, and I wanted to get your opinion on something. can someone become an accountant at the age of 40 years old?
What is the interview process like? Do you have to complete any tests?
Would you be interested in helping promote good ergonomics to accountants?
Would you recommend getting an associates degree for accounting or a bachelor?
Definitely bachelors. Most accounting firms want intern experience and a BS/BA nowadays
Hallo, I'm interested in it. Could you explain to me in details what's it is so, because I'm going to study it next year.
HELLO devamsha, you always produce great videos. excel is important for an accountant, i suffer from lack of knowledge on this actually. what exactly do we need to learn on excel??
hey! you will get taught all of this as part of on the job training. however i have a video coming on the most common things i use!
Am in level 2 in University and feel lost already, thanks for the video but need help on how to develop my skill as an accountant in making.
If I do APPRENTICESHIP in UK and later on I decide to move abroad would I be able to get Job abroad based on my accountancy apprenticeship-degree if not what subject should I choose in University for accountancy ?
Your answer will be much appreciated?

I just graduated high school last month, I don't know much about accounting, and are there other types of accounting?
Bookkeeping
Audit accountant, tax accountant, forensic accountant
When you say exams what do you mean? Like do you mean when you do an apprenticeship or study at university for accounting you have exams or do you mean at a normal accounting job they give you exams constantly as if you were at school or smth?
the CPA exam
Same with me, I work very hard in my study and no one know that
Thank you!
Great insight!

I am doing msc accounting and financial management in Coventry University please can you guide me
Do you get study leave or is it just time off to go college? As in do you actually get a few weeks to focus on revision or is the only type of study leave going to online college
We got a 6-8 week block of time off for physical college, and for my last set of exams which I sat online we got the same time off work to attend classes etc
Devamsha thank you!
