Thanks for watching all! I've never done a video like this before and it's given me a newfound respect for the great presenters out there - presenting is HARD! I learned heaps in the process though so hopefully I'll get to do some more videos like this in the future 🤙
Great video mate 👍, i run the same combo in Maxxis , with bike coming with double Assagais i found the rear very slow and also had the same worry not having the transittion knobs on thre Michelin 🤔 Now as far as first ride in Oz I’m not sure about that as ive been running the same combo Michelin Wild Enduro Racline fornt & Rear for 6 months or more and yeah the rubber is super Tacky & found it actuallyt throws sand pebbles up at your mate apparently lol 😂 I wanted a faster rolling rear & the Michelin is definetly that 👍 As far as not neading Cush Core, thats very debatable & even though Michelin do have a great quality sidewall that is way better than Maxis I’m pretty confident you wont be running 10&12 lb pressures that the Cush Core allows me to for Middle of Winter Red Silvan Clay ! I’m 93 KG and only run 26&28 when doing jump lines & its super dry , otherwise between 18&20 max when wet ! I can confirm the rear Michelin is weraing quite quickly , with front not so bad with only negative with the rear on steep slippery climbs looses traction compared to a DHR ! Cheers 🍻
@archie68x oh yeah for sure there are other benefits to running inserts like you mentioned, but on some casings like exo+ or DD I can’t keep air in the rear tyre without an insert so it’s good to have a casing where they are optional. Funny you mention the sand thing, I had a clip I didn’t include where I was getting sprayed with sand from the pickup of the sticky rubber 😂
For non-racers, Wild AM2 Front, Force AM2 rear is a really great combination. Love Michelins Grip and had the first product 10 years ago (Gripr they were called).
Great video mate! Really enjoyed the comparison back to maxxis, specifically the ones we all seem to run 😂 Look forward to the next presenter vid with something else you've tested
Great vid dude and nice to hear the new treads are good. I loved the wild enduros that I had on my Nukeproof and would have gotten them with the dread but that was mid Covid when they were simply never available. Looking forward to seeing what’s next.
Yeah, I tried to buy the DH22's back when Sam Hill was winning on them but they were impossible to find in stock. There should be no such issue this time around with BikeCorp pushing them!
Thank you for the video. These tires are on my shortlist, since I saw a video about them earlier this year. I am currently running Tacky Chan's front and rear, but I want to test these on my second bike, as soon as I get a chance.
Interested to hear how they compare to the Tacky Chan when you get a chance. Schwalbe used to be more popular around here but now there are no stockists, TC looks like a great tyre however.
I knew you were testing them because Shaun' s QLD equivalent told me. I've been running Michelin tyres for a while now. Love em. I haven't got the new ones yet though!
Great review! I’ve been on Michelin for the last couple of years - love the grip. Running Force AM2 and Wild AM2 at the moment for trail / gravity and they are 👌
How do they compare to the regular Wild Enduro? I was told the knobs wear faster on the Wild Enduro Race Line. I see this tyre has a new thread pattern. I see the original ones on sale, a nice deal. So might buy them to try. Are these harder to install? than the regular Enduro tyres? I have DT Swiss rims too, regular Wild Enduro is easy to install. so are these the same?
@@Turbalt141 I’m 90kgs plus kit and the bike is 17. If I run lower than that in maxxis DH casing I need to run inserts. I do think I will be able drop 2-3 psi with the Michelin casing when I get another set to test.
Have you tried the continental stuff? They're the closest thing to feeling like velcro to me, super locked in. I was looking into these but conti just treats me so well, way less sketchy movements than maxxis, schwalbe, vittoria and others I've been on in the past. I cut my trail casing kryptotals open first ride though, enduro is the way.
@@MTBMcPhee yeah I put an argotal super soft DH up front and honestly it's quite crazy, the supersoft argo blurs the lines between the enduro kryptotals, makes it a hard choice, but will probably go back to kryptotals I noticed the rubber on kryptotals in enduro soft were harder and they lasted longer than maxxis but they seemed to have more 'mechanical grip' if that makes sense and they felt more predictable and on rails
@@MatTancock yeah I had that feeling too, the tread seems to generate lots of grip. In the wet or on rock was where they fell a bit short and I was left wanting stickier rubber. The contis have gone up a lot in price locally and are about 30% more expensive than maxxis now though 👎
I was hoping to include that in the video but it won't be finalised until the stock arrives in September. My understanding is it will be competitive with Maxxis DH tyres

Nice one Craig, it’s great to hear your thoughts & opinions, I bet Sean was stoked when he heard you mention no rim strikes 👊😬

I'll be trying that combo out on my Tallboy soon. Looks like a great option for beefing that bike up a bit
Just ordered a pair of wild enduro MS ... Replacing my kryptotal, just to try them out... Great to hear you liked them on your test
Cool! Interested to hear how you find them compared to the Contis as my Conti testing was cut short by a piece of glass on a road climb.
Nice vid, appreciate the comparisons. The next step is timed laps comparison. The clock don't lie

I was at cemetery dh today and I just cant bring myself to do the wooden roll
@@maxcrackers09 you’ll get it. No brakes on the wood!
Interested, have you tried Magic Mary and if so, how would they compare? Great review. Everything one needs! Cheers.
Thank you 🙏 I haven't used a magic mary since the 27.5 days so it's probably not fair to make a comparison
Which tyres are best for xc riding with mixture of road / tarmac, gravel, trail etc ?
@@23lnp I’m not sure about that sorry as it’s not my style of riding. Hopefully someone can chime in with suggestions?

Wonder if you can run these on an ebike. Have been running Maxxis but a bit over them.
According to Michelin they are "E-bike ready", whatever that means!
@@MTBMcPhee haha yeah, think they just beef up the sidewalls or something. Thanks for the video! Was an awesome review.
You should change the title, to specify it's the new model.
I used to run wild enduros a while ago but the side knobs get ripped off after a while
I'll hopefully have a set in for a longer review soon and I can report back on how the new model fares with that 👍
Do these work with a 27.5 microwave?
Yes, they are folding bead. The wire bead DH is not microwave compatible.
