@@ShenaniganGrey Could make it even worse and it has to literally be laid out like an excel sheet so you have to figure out how to make that liveable and navigable. Where do you put a bathroom in a 3 by 3 grid of rectangular rooms and have it accessible to all the bedrooms and other rooms? Does it have to go right in the middle? So its a hallway with bathroom stuff in? Curse I tell you, cursed. Maybe random number generator for number of columns of rectangles then number of rows of rectangles.
or opposite size rooms. so like the bathroom would have to be fully decorated but the size of a big living room. and the living room would be the size of a small bathroom. lol that’d be so chaotic

In Dutch we often call the desired paths you were talking about feeënpaadjes, which means fairy paths!
I only know them as olifantenpaadjes (elephant paths) but feeënpaadjes sounds so much better!

The fence dilemma is SO relatable. I genuinely want to pull my hair out sometimes when the fences auto-places itself no matter how much I try to engineer the aesthetics.
The walls for the stripey horse are the same colors as my parent’s bedroom walls, and i gotta be real, it’s giving Reese’s Puffs. It’s either a peanut butter and chocolate moment or a chocolate and caramel moment. Good vibes.

I think Disney built his parks like that, he had people naturally walk on the grass to see what paths they picked and then built proper ones, made more sense than guessing where they might walk. That's why Disneyland flows so well apparently
They also did studies on how far someone would walk before dropping litter on the ground if there is no rubbish bin. So they then position the park bins just shy of that distance so there is always a bin to throw rubbish away and the end result is a mostly clean park before you even add cleaners and stuff.
Fun story about desire paths: My college redid their landscaping in the 70s or 80s. Before then, it was alllllll dirt. They seeded "the Augie Green" one year. ALL of it. No pathways, nothing. The paths that were worn for the year were then where they paved the next year. Now there's hardly any desire paths on campus because, in a way, they listened to the students and staff to see where paths were most needed. 😆

Idea for a build challenge: each room is a different pack, then you have to design a sim to live in that house, and you can only use clothes and traits from those packs. Or the opposite, where each outfit is a different pack.

Fellow late-diagnosed autistic algebra-lover here! I’ve wanted to be a math teacher since I was 13 because math (especially algebra) is fun and so is teaching/tutoring it. I was really excited about my 8th grade math (when we were introduced to algebra) and ended up reteaching that day’s lesson with the homework everyday during study hall to my classmates, like using the board and answering raised hands and everything. Now I’m a substitute teacher mostly working in math SPED classes because I’ve been noticed by some teachers in that I’m good at bringing up the students understanding and they like me, and Im also still in school to get my teaching degree. Jessie you’re the only other person I’ve heard say math/algebra is genuinely fun so that made me so happy. Even my classmates in uni who are also becoming middle/high school math teachers don’t find it “fun,” and it can get draining to be the only student in the room who’s actually excited about the topic.

Ok so I wasn't expecting that the randomised sim you got for doing this would be identical to the randomised sim I got the other day to do a challenge with. Same hair style and colour, same skin tone and face, same make up, same earrings and same top, same trousers, same shoes... Ummmm... I thought the game actually randomised stuff but apparently it just picks from a pool? Is that the true reason so many end up with the eyeball ring? Someone created a bunch like that for teh luls?

Red and black are base colours for horses, but most "reds" look orange, but can be a darker deep red, to almost brown black (liver chestnut). These base colours are affected by dilute genes (creme champagne dun) which makes the creamy colours, or even Gray with black legs and stripe down its spine (Grulla) or can be affected by somatic mutations (eg. Roan, Gray). Horse genetics are truly wild so I understand why the Sims team haven't gone in depth with horse coat colour genetics. For example Appaloosas can have a spotty appearance and have a foal that is almost completely solid that "varnishes" over time to a lighter colour, similar to Gray horses.
